I've been hearing and reading a lot of stuff about post modern thinking. It seems to be a way to avoid confrontation mainly. If truth is relative then I don't have to call anyone out for anything or say "this or that is wrong".
But any post modernist is going to rely on the truth that engineers and anyone who builds cars, planes, whatever uses to get the things to do what they do.

Do you think that a bad thing relying on engineers, I ask cause I’m thinking of when in scripture Jesus uses modern things in those times like boats to cross a body of water.

The law of relativity only explains that the same thing is seen by different people in a different way, it doesn't change the truth of anything. We see the moon as a disc in the sky, but that does not change that the actual moon itself.

Man has different concepts of God, but that does not change the facts of God.

Another analogy..

A mystic sees a road with heavy traffic.. so they think.. ok the cars dont really exist.. it's all in my mind.. even the road.. is not real..

Then they put their real body on the real road and..

Wham! Hit by the truth

Truth is by its very nature absolute. If it were not, absolute, it could not be truth.
So can you define the absolute nature of the truth?

To say "there is no absolute truth" is to make an absolute truth claim.
Does your opinion that anyone who says that 'there is no absolute truth' has made an absolute truth claim mean that you claim your opinion is the absolute truth?

To make a claim that there is an absolute truth is to affirm that there is an objective base for reality. Whether you believe that to be true makes no difference to objective reality.

If I make a claim that absolute truth exists, I am agreeing with both the concept and making an absolute claim at the same time. Therefore, there is no contradiction.

If I claim that no absolute truth exists and at the same time make an absolute truth claim, I contradict myself (reason being is how do I know what I am saying is true if I claim to not know?)

Additionally, your post stated the following "can you define the absolute nature of the truth". Well, the moment I start moving towards the "definition" of truth, I move into the realm of the subjective (because I can claim anything is true, if I want to - whether or not that actually IS true remains in the realm of objective reality). So you're asking the wrong question. The question is: Does absolute truth exist? There are only two possible answers, yes (truth exists and is absolute, therefore there must be a source). Or no, it does not exist (and therefore all statements are subjective).

If yes - what is the source of absolute truth? It must be a truly absolute being who could bring forth and sustain an objective reality. If your source isn't grounded in this absolute being, it is of yourself and therefore unreliable and not to be trusted.

Seeing absolute truth is like seeing a car. We can look at it and agree it is there and not understand anything about it except that it runs. To understand the car you need to know how the maker made it.

We see life and death, but to understand it we need to learn from the one who made it.

interesting. i say rather contain absolute truth. because not everything in the bible is absolute truth. we got lies from satan recorded in bible and also things said by job's friends and things like that. no one thinks satan's words are true.

Yes, but that is truth. It is true the lies Satan states. It actually occurred.

Actually Job's friends stated many spiritual truths. Where they went off the rails was to assume that God exclusively blesses the righteous and sends calamities only on the unrighteous. Thus Job became unrighteous in their eyes. But God showed them the error of their ways.

They are all hypocrites at heart, trying to deceive themselves and others. Nothing new.

If we cannot trust every word in the bible to be true then we cannot trust the bible at all. All of the bible is given by inspiration of God.

Does your opinion apply to the original manuscripts of does it apply to the modern translations as well?

By default if the word of God is absolutely true then it must contain absolute truth.

Agree... I think to state "absolute truth"... seems somewhat redundant at first.

Yet if we look at the definition of "absolute truth" being true in all times in all places.... there could be truth only in some places and not at all times?

Hence the term "absolute truth?"
