if she was a clone she would be male.

Eve was the completion of Adam.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

the flesh was taken from Adam's side because Eve is meant to stand beside her man, not in front or behind.

C'mon that's a stretch if I ever seen one.

Gen 2.22 likewise informs the reader of a great passage of time....as the female had to be 'brought' to the male.

If she was fully formed from Adam while he was asleep, then he should have woken-up with her at his side...but she was away with her first parent, God, for a period of time until she was ready to be with the male.

I can equally ask, 'If they weren't 24 hour days, why was the phrase 'evening and morning' used for each of the six days'?
The Hebrew day begins and ends in the evening.

Thus, the very best for that phrase to mean (with your reasoning) is a 12hr period of time.

Is that what you want?

Or is another meaning intended here...?

Anyhow this thread is supposed to be about naming those little furrys.
Why did Adam name his female partner if he was just to name the animals?

Racoons are one of my favorate animals.
They look so playful and cute, and when caught doing something, they just stop and are still, as though if they dont move they wont be seen. :)
I heard noises outside our kitchen one night, and went to check as lately, several things had been found removed and found out at the back of our yard near the fence.
I was standing under a tree as I looked over the yard, when a noise caught my attention, there above me were three sweet ittle baby racoons, all looking very guilty and fearful.
There little faces watching mine.
Now I figured momma may be near so I quickly made my way back into the house. :)
But those three racoons remain in my memory, for the sweetness of their tiny furry bodies and the look of a child caught in the cookie jar upon their faces.
Those little masks they have must be God's humor shared. :)

God bless
pickles
My favorite thing about raccoons is how playful they are, especially when they're riled up.

I'm such an animal nerd so I don't think I can pick just one!

I like big cats (like cheetahs, snow leopards, etc.), wolves, otters, hawks, bald eagles, horses (I draw horses, they're difficult but fun to draw!), foxes...

You get the point. :D I would have loved to have witnessed creation anyway, but to see Adam naming the animals (and see the ones we don't have today) would have been really neat.
hi rachelsedge
do you have a drawing you could post?:D

When I get home from work I'll see if I can dig one up. I haven't drawn one in quite a while, and also I'm fairly self-conscious about my art. So we'll see...

I've seen teenage girls wearing more rouge than that ... but it's a nice, subtle touch on the manicure. Fabio gives 8 stars out of 10 for the overall look
