“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). There is no need to be afraid because the righteous is as bold as a lion and God is on your side.:)

I'm not exactly sure when i stopped being afraid, perhaps after my mom passed away. I can honestly say I have eager anticipation to see the Lord... think about that... how that will feel! Jars of Clay sings" when i go dont cry for me, in my fathers arms i'll be, sun & moon will be replaced with the light of Jesus face"... I can say no more, I receive his grace. I do hope to raise my Children and perhaps be an earthly influence on my grandchildren as well before I go. (the later may be an issue since i had my kids in my 30's I'm an 'old' mom.) The best gift we can give our children is the knowledge of our confidence in the Lord.

It is interesting that you brought this up. I considered this type of thread myself reciently. You see I am waiting on a diagnosis of a disease that could take my life. It may also just make me sick for the rest of my life. I admit Im a little afraid, mostly because Im the type that likes to be ready and Id like to make sure I know ahead of time. Also My have children and a husband that I dont want to see heartbrocken. But from the heart? I look to the day that I will see Our Lord Jesus and Our Father in heaven, sometimes it is hard to wait as the beauty and love he has shown me here makes it hard to wait for when I will see him face to face. I believe when my time comes though Jesus will give me all I need and my family will need. God bless, pickles

Sure I am. I am because i never died before. Will it hurt? Will it be in my sleep? Will it be before I get acclomplished what I wanted to do?

I'm afraid death but I'm not afraid of where I'm going afterward!

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth.

mark;
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Ex 3:6 Matt 22:32Luke 20:37Acts 7:32He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

john;
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

john;
Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Ask and you shall recieve
Love a friend in God

hello, This question has given me some trouble. When I was 12 years old I woke up from a dream one night and have feared death ever since. A went for a whole year thinking that if I go to sleep by myself I will died. I had insomnia that year. I have learn with pray and guidance to sleep and think about death less. I still struggle with this fear, mostly because I pray that their will be a heaven, but I am not sure. I want there to be something more than nothing for ever.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Hebrews 2:14-15 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he [Jesus] also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."

As Christians, we need not fear death itself. Jesus Christ already conquered death on our behalf, and as long as we are putting all of our trust in him, there is no reason for us to fear death. However personally, what I fear, is not death, or being dead, but rather the process of dying: taking the last breath, and knowing that the next will not come, or feeling that intense pain that my body cannot fight. However, the more I read the scriptures, and as I read about others who were martyred, I find a curious thing. Consider Stephen's death in Acts 7:59-60 "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep." What a reaction! Only by the grace of God would one who is being stoned to death be able to call upon God for the forgiveness of his murders, right before taking his last breath.

Throughout the years, and mostly from reading the Bible, I can honestly say that my fear even of dying has become substantially less. I truly believe that when the time comes that the Lord will call me home, no matter how painful or terrifying the process may appear from a physical standpoint, the Lord will give me the same peace that he gave Stephen.

Are you afraid to die? Why or why not? I find myself struggling with fear.
Biblically speaking Hebrews 2:14-15

14 Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born in human form. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he deliver those who have lived all their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.

The thing that terrifies people more than anything else is death. It is a horrible fear, the king of terrors. But when we receive Jesus Christ, death holds no more fear. We have been released from bondage to the fear of death, and, instead, actually look forward to it. We say with Paul, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil 1:21) and “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Cor 15:55). Death no longer holds any fear, for it simply releases us into the presence of our Lord.
Why? Because we have placed our hands into the hands of the Conqueror of death, and He will lead us into one side of the grave and out the other. He never could have done it if He had not become for a little while lower than the angels.

I'm afraid death but I'm not afraid of where I'm going afterward!

I look at it this way,
Your days are numbered like the hairs on your head, when it's time, It's time!
Either way you serve the Lord!
I have died twice, once when I was 16 and the other time when I was 17.
Both of the times were documented miracles.
I should not be alive!
When I was 17, I drowned in a hot tub!
I was dead they say for at least 20min.
What really blew every one away, including myself was the fact that I saw and heard the whole thing!
One second I was in the hot tub with my friends enjoying the hot tub, but when my friends decided to go into the house, I wanted to stay in the hot tub! We had been drinking, and I had only had one beer, but it was enough to make me pass out!

I did not know that alcohol and hot tubs don't mix!

One minute I'm enjoying the hot tub, and the next I'm seeing myself floating face down in the water!
I'm looking at myself floating face down and asking myself, "Is that me?"
That looks like me, It is me!
At this point I see my friends coming out of the house and they see my body floating on the top of the water,
I heard every word they said, Oh God, Lee don't do this, still rings through my ears!
At the same time all of this was going on, I could feel someone behind me and when I went to turn, a still small voice told me not to turn but to look, and then said to me, "Death is not what it seems!"
I continued to look at my dead body for a moment, and realized I was not dead!
My body that I was looking at was just a shell, and the life inside of me, was really me, and I live with or without this earthly shell!
When I came back to life, I woke up with paramedics working on me!
I began to say all the things that my friends said when they found me in the water!
It blew everyone's minds when I knew what was said word for word!
I'll tell you I was not the same after this!

I have learned death has no hold on me and death is not what it seems!
You live forever, either filled with life, or filled with death, wanting to die but not being able too, forever! With or without God!
We each have a choice to make!
Life or death!
Love or hate!

I chose life and Love, which can only be found by knowing Jesus!
He is life in it's fullest!
Jesus living in us, our hope, our life, our breathe!
In Him we have our being!

There is no fear of death here, it has lost it's sting!
I have been washed clean in the blood of the lamb.
And I overcame the world by the blood of the lamb, and the word of my testimony!
