Colossians 2:11-13 NLT - "When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins."
Before I was Powerfully indwelt by the Holy Spirit, I Truly believed that I was saved. I didn't know it, but I was Spiritually dead . . . because my Sinful Nature had not been cut away. Furthermore, my behavior was the proof that I was Spiritually dead. I was horrible.
But later, I began to Transform . . . and believe me, the Power to do so did NOT come from me. If I had the Power to change, I would have done it many decades prior. I was unable to change. I cried and cried and cried that God would change me, for I could not change myself.
Thank God for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

can you provide scripture as to why you would agree that there’s a second step to this ?

at what point is there any scripture of a second step to receiving the Holy Ghost ? And teaching that it’s different from receiving the free gift of the Holy Ghost ?
always open to those scriptures but I’m not aware of any and one would think it should be written if that’s the case
for instance once Jesus was baptized and received the Holy Ghost , when was he baptized in the Holy Ghost if not the moment he received it ?
or when was Paul baptized in the Holy Ghost of not when he received it and got baptized like everyone else ? Is there any event where Paul was baptized a second time with the Holy Ghost ?

e.) Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
f.) Not every Believer will be Baptized in the Holy Spirit because of unbelief, fear, ingrained erroneous teaching(religion).
g.) Acts has the answer in "plain sight" and verifies (f)
h.) Your heart must engage = Treasure Find = ask the Lord to reveal the connection of Matt ch3, Gospel of John, Acts, 1 Cor

they hadn’t received the Holy Ghost because you can’t receive what you didn’t hear and believe like these folks

I’m asking if there are any scriptures explaining about how that’s different from being baptized in the spirit ? Or is being baptized in the spirit another way of talking about receiving the spirit through faith ?

water baptism is done on earth to agree with the pouring out of the Holy Ghost from heaven , it is an agreement of what’s happened in heaven it’s act of faith

they are one brother the only thing we can do is hear about baptism for remission of sins and act in faith . The Holy Ghost is a free gift to a believer who hears the gospel it’s one promise

Most christians have received the baptism by water - not all christians have been baptised in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is with every Believer = "flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."
The Holy Spirit is how the Father reveals Christ to us.
The Holy Spirit is who Christ = all whom the Father calls.
Keep in mind that it were the Apostles who were baptised in the Holy Spirit bearing WITNESS to the Christ, the Word of God and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Study the Gospel of John, Acts, 1 Corinthians = ALL of it.
ACTS is the KEY to understanding but you must ask the LORD to reveal it to you for if you rely on intellect and/or unbelief you will never see it.
Salvation is in Christ thru His Death on the Cross - PERIOD = No man comes to the Father but thru ME.

HE is speaking of how we enter this world = thru water birth = the womb.

AFTER Witness #3 the Apostle Peter said there is a Second Baptism coming = ye shall receive
The Holy Spirit is with every Believer = "flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."
The Holy Spirit is how the Father reveals Christ to us.
The Holy Spirit is who Christ = all whom the Father calls.
Keep in mind that it were the Apostles who were baptised in the Holy Spirit bearing WITNESS to the Christ, the Word of God and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Two completely separate baptisms or:
a.) John the Baptist spoke in error and was confused = Matt 3:11
b.) Apostle Paul spoke in error = Eph 4:4-6
c.) the LORD spoke in error = Acts (all of it)
d.) you believe what you pick and choose from the Bible
e.) you embrace ALL of the Word in faith = not doubting,
f.) doubt negates the Promise of the Father for the individual who doubts
g.) form a religion for those who doubt and call it "cessation of Gifts"
Study the Gospel of John, Acts, 1 Corinthians = ALL of it.
ACTS is the KEY to understanding but you must ask the LORD to reveal it to you for if you rely on intellect and/or unbelief you will never see it.
Salvation is in Christ thru His Death on the Cross - PERIOD = No man comes to the Father but thru ME.
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

HE is speaking of how we enter this world = thru water birth = the womb.
and/again denotes more then one Birth
of the Spirit = Born Again
that which is flesh(water) is flesh = born once

that which is Spirit is Spirit = Born Again

the Holy Spirit is a gift freely given of Gods eternal Promise. It comes because of the one gospel that is what tells us of the water , blood and spirit.
No I don’t even see the three witnesses belnf John Jesus and Peter there’s no scripture to say anything like that.
the three witnesses are the water of baltism for remission of sins , the word of Christ which tells us about remission is the spirit , and the blood he shed for remission of sins. They all three are in agreement it’s what the gospel teaches about.

the Holy Ghost is the result of believing the gospel it’s a gift promised by Jesus himself it’s something only Jesus can do and all We can do is receive it.

the only relevance is that the three witnesses agree in one Jesus Christ. The water testifies to the believer who hears about the blood through the spirit the word of Christ.
The Holy Ghost is a gift coming from heaven there’s nothing we can do to receive it but belief of the gospel and we can’t baptize anyone else in the Holy Ghost it comes from the throne of God through the promise of Jesus Christ.
