Eze 23:1 The LORD said:
Eze 23:2 Ezekiel, son of man, listen to this story about two sisters.
Eze 23:3 While they were young and living in Egypt, they became prostitutes.
Eze 23:4 The older one was named Oholah, which stands for Samaria; the younger one was Oholibah, which stands for Jerusalem. They became my wives and gave birth to my children.
Eze 23:5 Even though Oholah was my wife, she continued to be a prostitute and chased after Assyrian lovers.
Eze 23:6 She offered herself to soldiers in purple uniforms, to every handsome, high-ranking officer, and to cavalry troops.
Eze 23:7 She had sex with all the important Assyrian officials and even worshiped their disgusting idols.
Eze 23:8 Once she started doing these things in Egypt, she never stopped. Men slept with her, and she was always ready for sex.

Eze 23:9 So I gave Oholah to the Assyrian lovers she wanted so badly.
Eze 23:10 They ripped off her clothes, then captured her children and killed her. Women everywhere talked about what had happened to Oholah.
Eze 23:11 Oholibah saw all this, but she was more sinful and wanted sex more than her sister Oholah ever did.
Eze 23:12 Oholibah also chased after good-looking Assyrian officers, uniformed soldiers, and cavalry troops.
Eze 23:13 Just like her sister, she did vulgar things.
Eze 23:14 But Oholibah behaved worse than her sister. Oholibah saw images of Babylonian men carved into walls and painted red.
Eze 23:15 They had belts around their waists and large turbans on their heads, and they reminded her of Babylonian cavalry officers.
Eze 23:16 As soon as she looked at them, she wanted to have sex with them. And so, she sent messengers to bring them to her.
Eze 23:17 Men from Babylonia came and had sex with her so many times that she got disgusted with them.
Eze 23:18 She let everyone see her naked body and didn't care if they knew she was a prostitute. That's why I turned my back on her, just as I had done with her older sister.

Eze 23:19 Oholibah didn't stop there, but became even more immoral and acted as she had back in Egypt.
Eze 23:20 She eagerly wanted to go to bed with Egyptian men, who were famous for their sexual powers.
Eze 23:21 And she longed for the days when she was a young prostitute, when men enjoyed having sex with her.
Eze 23:22 The LORD God said: Oholibah, though you no longer want to be around your lovers, they will surround you like enemies, when I turn them against you.
Eze 23:23 I will gather all the handsome young officials and the high-ranking cavalry officers from Babylonia and Assyria, as well as from the Chaldean tribes of Pekod, Shoa, and Koa.
Eze 23:24 Their large armies will come from the north with chariots and wagons carrying weapons. They will wear shields and helmets and will surround you, and I will let them judge and sentence you according to their own laws.
Eze 23:25 I am angry with you, so I will let them be very cruel. They will cut off your nose and ears; they will kill your children and put to death anyone in your family who is still alive.
Eze 23:26 Your clothes and jewelry will be torn off.
Eze 23:27 I will stop your wickedness and the prostitution you started back in Egypt. You will never want to think about those days again.
Eze 23:28 I, the LORD God, am ready to hand you over to those hateful enemies that you find so disgusting.
Eze 23:29 They will cruelly take away everything you have worked for and strip you naked. Then everyone will see you for the prostitute you really are. Your own vulgar sins
Eze 23:30 have led to this. You were the one determined to have sex with men from other nations and to worship their idols.
Eze 23:31 You have turned out no better than your older sister, and now you must drink from the cup filled with my anger.
Eze 23:32 I, the LORD God, gave your sister a large, deep cup filled with my anger. And when you drink from that cup, you will be mocked and insulted.
Eze 23:33 You will end up drunk and devastated, because that cup is filled with horror and ruin.
Eze 23:34 But you must drink every drop! Then smash the cup to pieces and use them to cut your breasts in sorrow. I, the LORD God, have spoken.

Eze 23:35 You have completely rejected me, and so I promise that you will be punished for the disgusting things you did as a prostitute.
Eze 23:36 The LORD said: Ezekiel, son of man, it's time for you to tell Oholah and Oholibah that they are guilty. Remind them of their evil ways!
Eze 23:37 They have been unfaithful by worshiping idols, and they have committed murder by sacrificing my own children as offerings to idols.
Eze 23:38 They came into my temple that same day, and that made it unfit as a place to worship me. They have even stopped respecting the Sabbath.
Eze 23:39 (SEE 23:38)
Eze 23:40 They sent messengers to attract men from far away. When those men arrived, the two sisters took baths and put on eye shadow and jewelry.
Eze 23:41 They sat on a fancy couch, and in front of them was a table for the olive oil and incense that had belonged to me.
Eze 23:42 Their room was always filled with a noisy crowd of drunkards brought in from the desert. These men gave the women bracelets and beautiful crowns,
Eze 23:43 and I noticed that the men were eager to have sex with these women, though they were exhausted from being prostitutes.

Eze 23:44 In fact, the men had sex over and over with Oholah and Oholibah, the two sinful sisters.
Eze 23:45 But good men will someday accuse those two of murder and of being unfaithful, because they are certainly guilty.
Eze 23:46 So I, the LORD God, now say to these sisters: I will call together an angry mob that will abuse and rob you.
Eze 23:47 They will stone you to death and cut you to pieces; they will kill your children and burn down your houses.
Eze 23:48 I will get rid of sinful prostitution in this country, so that women everywhere will be warned not to act as you have.
Eze 23:49 You will be punished for becoming prostitutes and for worshiping idols, and you will know that I am the LORD God.

Ramon,
You are looking at the WHOLE chapter for a meaning and I'm sure in that time period yes. God was talking to Ezekiel for what the meaning was for then. You are going to have to break down and do more in deph studying to gain the metaphore understanding for us today. That means using a concordence with the Greek and Hebrew breakdown of words. No one here wants to do that for you. You need to study on your own. Get the tools you need.
Find out more: example:
v. 6........clothed in blue. Well, this indicates religious authority.........don't take my word for it..........use your concordence. Remember, the priests at that time wore blue.
Start looking up words. Words have deeper meanings and how do they relate to other parts of scriptures. You can do this. It should be fun and will draw you to a closer walk with the Lord.
God speaks to each of us in different ways and shows us many different things. He will guide you.
Many times we are going to have to do our own personal studying.

I didnt think you had enough verses
Dear friends, I don't think it's wise to randomly quote whole chapters out of the OT, and then wonder why none of us understand what is being said. Much of the OT is obscure and hard to understand. If even the NT is hard to understand (2 Peter 3:16), what chance is there in this life of us understanding everything in the Law and in the Prophets. It's best to keep one's curiosity for Biblical encyclopedia down to a minimum. Concentrate on the things that lead to Christ; don't major in minor, or think everything in the OT is of equal value to the whole NT. It is better to concentrate on the NT, and those parts of the OT such as Psalms and Isaiah which are often quoted in the NT. In Erie / Scott Harrington

This is a very strange response from you all. Really. Maybe not all of you, but one moment I am being taunted for saying Life is not in the bible, that I should search the scriptures for life, then when I post a scripture this is the response. Anyhow, I was not searching for meaning in anything, I actually think it is not right to search for meaning in scripture, and that the Lord will reveal what he meant if we seek it in Jesus, IF HE WANTS TO. But some things are sealed until they are revealed, then the understanding comes. These scriptures were just on my mind. That is all. And the old testament still has a place in the plan of God. They still have value today, but the issue is no one has revelation. Now, the Lord HAS in fact taught me the meaning of MANY things of the old testament, even some things to come. However, if anyone misses Jesus Christ in it, then he is off the track.

Ramon,
Never give up learning God's word (and I do hope you are using the KJV.) Many of us start out learning the bible on what is called the literal first level for the teaching of doctrine. This is what the apostle Paul called "milk." God knows like a baby we learn how to walk before we can run.
When you read stories like Ezekiel. We understand in part and then we see through this dark glass because we know there are other things to be learned. God may reveal them later but the real blessing for now is you are putting those scriptures into your mind. It's like for safe keeping and so long as they are there we know God will bless his Word. The more we store, the more will be remembered when God wants us to start running. Revelation 1:3 says we will be blessed by reading. Great promise even if I don't entirely know what I am even reading........but He knows you have placed that Word there in our mind.

Once we get up to start walking we go on to the next steps of learning. For most that is knowing all the stories that are there. There is a deeper meaning to our walk. For some, God intends to help us individually that only He wants for us. Sometimes others can't tune into this for it may have been a time for you and God only.
There are layers and spiritual overlayers to our walk. The bible says there's a more purer walk (Zep. 3:9) so now we are going to go just an onion layer down some more in understanding God's word and that is a metaphor of understanding of his words.
This is understanding that we are going to have to dig through the peelings of layers and hopefully we have the right tools for us to use. This is language that requires looking at certain words not on the literal but spiritual level for it is speaking to us today.
Example:

lion...........there are about five different meanings in scripture for lions. Jesus is referred to as the Lion from the tribe of Judah but there are numerous verses portraying the lion as a devourer. The devil is referred to as a roaring lion in I Peter 5:8. This is the deeper meaning.

In Ezekiel the two women also have deeper meanings. One has to use an concordence to look up their names. Does this story have any meaning for us in our day? Questions like that.

You have a good heart. I am sorry that there are some that were not as helpful in seeing the struggle we have all had at times. May we be more helpful in helping you with your walk Ramon.
Keep walking no matter what.
