ill bet Jesus was pretty fun and that his friends really felt safe with him. There are also some instances where he had the disciples send people away so he had time to himself. I think ultimately as we grow we want to be a safe place for those around us. That's how we help those who want to be helped. Some people don't want help...and there is nothing we can do about that except pray. And sometimes we have to take measures to protect ourselves from those kinds of people.
Is there any verse that says Jesus laughed? We know He wept. I have seen depictions of Him laughing. I believe God does have a sense of humor :)

I have a question for everyone..... Can you find drinking "grape juice" in the Bible? Numbers 6 is excluded fo it speaks of the Nazarite vow. NT scriptures speaking of wine presses are also excluded, for nobody's drinking in those verses. Use ANY serious Bible translation you like.

Isaiah 65:8 "Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all."

Then in the below verse we see that new wine is called the "fruit of the vine". At the Lord's Supper they were drinking new wine(grape juice), not fermented wine which is old and spoiled.

Matthew 26:29 "But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

New wine can be made by squeezing a bunch of grapes into a cup according to the below verse.

Genesis 49:11 "And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand."

Kings and Pharaoh's could have new wine, grape juice, anytime they desired as they would call on their cup bearer to press the grapes for juice. It was for the privileged.

24And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: 25Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: 26And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

"Study, to shew thyself approved unto God." To the one seeking truth, there is found truth. I will study, pray and seek truth. This is certainly a question brother. On the first look it seems like God is instructing those that had a bounty too far from the land where He has set, that they could sell the bounty and buy whatever their hearts lusted for including strong drink. That's bizarre in itself, is it not? Whatever it was, it was directed to the tribes of Israel excluding the Levites whom God took care of their provision since they were always to be inside of God's promised territory. Any other thoughts?

Well, you might have something there with "strong drink"..... but to say "wine" is alcoholic is merely an assumption, if that's what you're trying to show.

Lemme show you some other scriptures:

Isaiah 5:11 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

Isaiah 28:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Isaiah 56:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Notice these verses use wine & strong drink interchangibly? They seem to indicate alcoholic wine is a strong drink, don't they?

Makes perfect sense to me. Alcohol is like gasoline to fuel the arguments where people can point out specks in other peoples' eyes. Some folks will take any opportunity to be self-righteous and run with it. I think it's cute to watch.

Well, God is talking about His holy People Vs 21. SO I am with you, study, study study it out. I have My opinion and have studied it........the reason I studied it out is because the 'church' I attended said drinking is a sin. But someone(LOVE him, good friend) pointed this verse out to me.

Really, one doesn't even need to study it out. It just shows the noose that a pastor or teacher has thrown around our neck.
