The Holy Spirit in me.
Ok so let us see if this answer is true! If we can see it in the Bible, it is true, if we cannot see it in the Bible it is FALSE, and then I have been lied too, by the FALSE GOD! To get this distinction between Truth and false the only place I can proof it is in the Truth, God’s Word and His Light! When an answer comes to the light, and it proofs righteous, then that answer can only come from the RIGHTEOUS ONE!
The first Truth we would read about is Acts 8 from verse 1, with a little of the history of chapter 7. Acts chapter 8 starts where the evil side had just stoned a holy man to death. A man full of the Holy Spirit and a deacon chosen in Acts 6:5 by the name of Stephen. And in this time there were a great persecution against THE CHURCH! One church! Saul who would later be Paul, were one of the great persecutors at this stage, scattering the holy people of God’s church abroad!
While these holy people were scattered, they would persist in preaching the Word of God! Important to already see that these holy people preached God’s WORD! And they were THE CHURCH! Now I have to ask this question about myself, am I part of that church? Well let us see what the people looks like whom belong to that church!
Verses 5-8, Then Philip, another of the chosen deacons in Acts 6:5, not Philip the Apostle, came to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. The people with ONE accord gave heed unto the Word of Philip. They heard the Word and they SAW the miracles that he did. Unclean spirits, CRYING with a LOUD voice, came out of many that were possessed by them. Philip also healed the WHOLE city! There was great joy in that city!
Verses 9-11 Before Philip there was also a man that had this city THINK that this man was the great power of God. Simon the sorcerer (who gave himself as some big one) bewitched the people of Samaria. They also gave heed to him, ALL of them! Samaria was under this man’s spell! Bewitched the Word says.
Verses 12-13. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the Name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women! These people were now baptized in water by a holy man! Let us look at these people now. They were under a spell of bewitchment, and they had many evil spirits in them, but Philip healed all this. He chased out ALL evil spirits from ALL the people, and healed ALL the sick, and cleaned ALL the people from ALL evil. Even Simon the bewitcher believed also and he was cleansed and now stayed with Philip, and Simon wondered at the signs and great miracles which was done.
Ok! So now let us look at this city again. It looks like this whole city was now under another blanket, This time they were under God’s Word! These people were now giving heed to ONE TRUTH, God’s Word. They repented, and were cleansed. They believed, and had faith. They were bad but now they were made GOOD, or were they made good? Were they better people now? It does not matter if they were or not, God was only present with them IN PHILIP! Not a SINGLE one of them had ANY GOOD in them YET! Yes is good that they gave heed to Philip with one accord! And it is good that ALL evil was driven from them! And it is GOOD they believed in the Word and in the Name of Jesus Christ! And it is GOOD that they were all baptized, but if this is where it stayed, not one of them would be part of THE CHURCH! The were not yet SELECTED by God! They chose God at this stage but they were not YET selected by God! Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit did ALL His work on them, but He was not yet IN THEM! If the Holy Spirit now would move on and not complete HIS WORK, they would all probably fall back to worse than before! But the Holy Spirit wants them to be part of the Church, because God wanted that Church to grow, as He had promised that ALL nations will be blessed through the SEED Jesus Christ (God’s Son!)
Verse 14 Only after Philip had time to do the CLEANSING part of the city the Holy Spirit had the Apostles HEAR that Samaria RECEIVED the Word of God. (Philip would not have cleansed ANY person if he was dirty himself and needed cleansing himself) God does not use dirty people, He does not have to, because He can clean ANYBODY HE WANTS! And God does clean and FILL the people He uses! Nowhere in the Bible can I see GOD sending a sinner to do anything for Him! That is why the Sprit only told the Apostles about Samaria, after the holy Philip cleansed the city. And when the Apostles, including Apostle Philip, heard about the faith of Samaria, and how they received the Word, they sent unto the city the two Apostles Peter, and John! Why sent two Apostles….?
Verse 15 and 16… Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) And in this is my answer! If I know what the Holy Spirit brings with Him when He FALLS upon me, and I look at myself and my works, then I have to lie to say YES the Holy Spirit did fall upon me! With this knowledge that NONE of Samaria had the Holy Spirit in or on them YET, let me ask you this now! If I ask any of Samaria who is the Messiah, who would they say is? Yes, they will say it is Jesus Christ! If I ask any of them about the Word of God would they give the right answers? Yes they probably would, because Philip did teach the Gospel of Jesus! This make them sinless truth speakers, but they did not have ANY Holy Spirit in them yet. Oh they loved each other as they loved themselves, and they loved God above themselves, but they were not HOLY PEOPLE yet! They were prepared for God, and there houses were EMPTY, decorated and swept clean, and KEPT clean by the Holy Spirit IN PHILIP! The FILLING still had to be done! And John and Peter had to do this part! But He (the Holy Spirit) was there with them in Philip. And we see that Philip like John the Baptist baptized with water, and that Philip could not baptize with Holy Spirit. But John and Peter could because they were Apostles! Deacons/ evangelists cannot baptize with Holy Spirit, even though they were FULL of Holy Spirit themselves!
Verse 17.. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. We know Philip was full of the Holy Spirit, and they received Philip, so they did receive the Holy Spirit IN Philip, but now they received the Holy Spirit IN THEMSELVES! NOW to get us completely in the Truth this happened!!!!
Verses 18-21 18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 20But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Remember Simon was like the whole city, also received the word, and were baptized and believed, but as the rest of the city he was not yet SEALED in holiness YET! And we read that the apostles say to him that his heart is not right in the sight of God! The Holy Spirit was not yet IN Simon, that is why he sinned AGAIN, even after he was cleansed, believed and was baptized!! The Apostles goes on to say….
Verse 22 22Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Simon was in the bond of iniquity! Exactly where he started? Does he now have to go back to where he started? NO!!!! After the Holy Spirit showed him his bond of iniquity Simon then immediately repented and asked the apostles to pray to the Lord FOR Him! If you read well, and you understand this text we just read, you will also see that when these apostles left that WHOLE city, including Simon were now part of THE CHURCH!
NOW!!!! Please get this!!!! If I receive the Holy Spirit of God IN me, GOD IS IN ME! And what these hands will do when God is in this body, is ENTIRELY up to Him. God does as HE pleases in WHOM He pleases, but God does only NINE things! He can do one, two, three or whatever HE WANTS in whom He wants! Why? Because He is God! One thing is for sure, God CANNOT sin, therefore that body that used to house dirty spirits, is now the SOLE possession of the Holy Spirit! That sinning spirit of mine that are washed clean, and were BAPTIZED with His Holy Spirit, is now the Holy Spirit IN ME! That Holy Life, that only God can give, is now the Life of this Body. The NEW creature, is God Himself. I became ONE with God the moment He made me one with Him, by FILLING me with His Spirit. God only knows one measure of Holy Spirit! The measure He gave His Son! PERFECTLY FULL! Overrunning full! Like in Philip!
The Holy Spirit comes with: 1. Power! (Acts 1:8)
2. At least one of nine gifts! (1 Corinthians 12)
3. A new Life in a New Body! (1 Corinthians 12:12)
4. God’s Holiness! (1 Peter 1:15)
5. Life everlasting! (John 10:28)
6. A New Creation! (Galatians 6:15) (2 Corinthians 5:17)
7. A seal in God! (2 Corinthians 1:21 and 22)
8. Peace that surpasses any mans understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
9. God Himself, and He Swop places with you! (on the cross) (Colossians 3:3)
10. Purity that the World HATES! (John 15:18)
11. No regret! (Romans 11:29)
12 The Kingdom of God! (Romans 14:16)
All people that have the Holy Spirit IN them are as perfect as Jesus was! To the same measure and stature as Jesus! (Ephesians 4:11 to 13)
Do I have the Holy Spirit in me? NO! I do not have Him Yet IN me but I sure as He is True have Him WITH me in the Word of God! In my quiet times, Right now! And I hear Him! And I believe Him, May He soon sent an apostle to also pray for me laying on his hands, and I will receive the Holy Spirit, and all the identities we saw in the 12 points above!
