Ineffective, what makes the gospel ineffective...

Well, if we don't know it, if we don't share it, if we don't believe it. And, most certainly if we add to it.

What is another gospel, well, it could very well be a message call from time past ministering, such as John the baptist's ministry call. It was the correct gospel during his ministry, but not today or even during Christ's earthly ministry. Today, the ministry is "the ministry of reconciliation"- the gospel call is to a "new creature" God is currently forming for a purpose. The gospel call has to do with what one is to believe & obey, a "form of doctrine"

I am reposting this for anyone who wants to share what the Gospel of our salvation is and/or is not;

According to the teaching of Christ,

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son"

Mainstream Christians believe & agree Paul is our apostle, the apostle to the gentiles in the dispensation of the grace of God. Sent by Christ (Jn 13:20 kjv),*when Paul says according to "my gospel" what is that gospel?

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began

16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel

Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but*by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead)

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to*my gospel

What is the gospel Paul preached as an apostle & ambassador of Christ?

The Corinthian Road!

"For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified" 1 Cor. 2:2

"For I delivered to youas of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, [SUP]5 [/SUP]and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve." 1 Cor. 15:3-5

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, [SUP]19 [/SUP]namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. [SUP]21 [/SUP]He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Cor. 5:17-21

Wonderful! Addition of Scripture to the thread, thank you :)

Wow, your post holds a lot of doctrine. The thing about the death, burial and resurection being a universal doctrine in Scripture is evident, but when we see that our gospel in this ministry includes specific doctrine attached to Christ's resurrection, we should take note, to appreciate what the gospel of our salvation holds, namely assurance that God has given by it. I like this from that section of Scripture you shared, when we consider Paul's gospel, also known as the "gospel of the grace of God"

"not imputing their trespasses unto them"

And, I will add for our edification in the doctrine of God about "Christ being resurrected" according to Paul's gospel;

"But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" Rm 4:5

"Who was delivered for our offences, and raised again for our justification." Rm 4:25
