How has God confirmed to you that you are from the 144,000?
Why would God confirm this to anyone living on earth today? And since that prophecy would be strictly applicable to Israelites from the 12 tribes, and the majority of Christians are Gentiles, how is it even possible to apply it to people today? So looks like someone has confused you thoroughly, since we are in the Church Age, and those 144,000 redeemed Jews appear after the Church has been raptured to Heaven. Today there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile within the Church, but in Revelation 7 the description is very clear and specific -- 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes listed. And these are only representative of the believing Jewish remnant who will appear during the reign of Antichrist (later on).

What is the purpose of the 144,000? Like what are they called to do and why are they chosen as such important people that they are mentioned in the scriptures?
Hello Blain,

Just like any Biblical topic, all we can learn about the 144,000 is restricted to what scripture has to say about them. As I have continued to proclaim, the woman of Revelation 12 is identified in Gen.37:9-10 as representing the nation Israel, utilizing the same symbols of the sun, moon and twelve stars. Israel did not recognize Jesus as their Messiah in the day of their visitation. The phase "gives birth to" is referring to the male child as the 144,000 who come out of the twelve tribes of Israel as those who will believe that Jesus is in fact their Messiah (gives birth to). The male child is a collective name representing the 144,000 who come out of Israel.

That said, the male child is "caught up" to God and His throne in the middle of the seven years. The words "caught up" are translated from the Greek "Harpazo," which is defined as "to seize by force; snatch up, suddenly and decisively, force suddenly exercised." Though it is not stated, because this male child/144,000 are being caught up in the same manner as the living church at the time of the resurrection, I believe that when they are caught up, they will be changed into their immortal and glorified bodies just as the living church will be.

That the male child is caught up, by the definition of the word, Jesus could not be the male child and that because Jesus was not snatched up, but was crucified, buried, resurrected and ascended. Though it is not mentioned in the context, the male child is caught up before the dragon can devout/kill it. In opposition to this, Jesus was crucified.

In Rev.14, it is stated that the 144,000 will not have defiled themselves with women, which would infer that they are all males, ergo, male child.

Also, the woman giving birth to the male child, Satan and his angels being cast out of heaven and restricted to the earth and the woman/Israel fleeing into the desert where she is cared for 1260 days, are all events that will take place during the middle of that seven years. Regarding them, we know the following:

* Their number is 144,000
* The come out of the twelve tribes of Israel, 12,000 per tribe
* they are called servants of our God
* They have been redeemed from the earth
* They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb
* They will have not defiled themselves with women, which infers they are all males
* No lie is found in their mouths

Since they are sealed during the first 3 1/2 years, though not mentioned, they may be the churches replacement for spreading the gospel during that time. For as we know, following the introduction of the 144,ooo is another group which no man can count from every tribe, nation, people and language, which means that they are Gentile believers. Also known as the great tribulation saints. It may be that these come to Christ in part as a result of the preaching of the 144,000.

Think of them as possibly being 144,000 apostle Paul's

Quite an interesting subject,I for one am a physical virgin,so I have thought on if I could be one of the 144,000 but sense I have lusted,it's not likely, that I am,but nonetheless a great subject in fact in bible study the church I'm going to is studying right now the chapters concerning revelation and the 144,000.

Well that is not for all but it was for you it seems my dear, thanks for sharing.

Remember that GOD does not see us how we see each other but looks upon our heart... clean on the inside indeed by the Holy Spirit.

Whatever part we are called to play let us do so Faithfully and in Spirit and Truth, so be it.

How has God confirmed to you that you are from the 144,000?Do you care to share any of your experiences.Life experiences or your relationship with God.Have you told anyone close to you what God has revealed.
This is honestly my favorite subject on the Bible.I never real say much to anyone about all the stuff I've experienced with God,because people tend to get angered when I mention stuff that seem supernatural. If anyone would share what they have been told,I'll open up.To be honest,I don't even know where I'd start.

the 144000 Have only the Fathers Name written on thier foreheads.

14:1 "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. "

revelation 7: 1-3 "And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.2And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

a common misunderstanding of revelation is that every word in it will someday in the future be fulfilled. this above and the seven seals are a spiritual vision of God unleashing the curses in the Law of moses, upon israel. it has to do with the punishment of the israelites that is written in the Mosaic Law. when you then get to ezekiel God shows Him this regarding the nation of israel

ezekiel 9:2-4 ".......
and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.3And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; 4And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof."

5And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: 6Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom isthe mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. 7And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city. 8And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?9Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. 10And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
11
And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me."

this too is a spiritual vision that ezekeil is seeing, He is Looking forward to the destruction of Jerusalem, God is showing Him what is to come. People miss in the Ot after israels continued persistant rebellion, God warned and warned finally he said this repeatedly through the prophets.

Jeremiah 14 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. 11Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. 12When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

13Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place. 14Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

15Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. 16And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them."

these things are written repeatedly from the time Moses read the Law, these things are written IN the Law itself when God sets Life and death before them He warns them of these very things agaon and again God relents because the people repent and turn to Him. finally the people broke and ruined the covenant as God told Moses they would do, and God turned from the covenant. the REMENANT that is continually refered to in scripture is what will be left of the Israelites in the end. Gods wrath has been on them since 600 bc when they were dispersed to babylon, after that they were over ran by greece, persia and eventually The roman empire who utterly destroyed Jerusalem in a lengthy seige the city was left in ashes, the temple completely destroyed and all the precious metals the gold and silver, were looted, not a single stone remained and the temple has never been re built. in over 1900 years.

the jews were then dispursed into all the earth by rome a wandering People without a homeland from country to country they wandered, rejected persecuted, forsaken despised.... up until 1947 when Israels statehood was reinstated and they were allowed to possess thier Homeland again as a free people after the Horrors of the holocaust.

My point is that the 144000 are old testament People who are redeemed under the Mosaic Covenant, they are without fault, they are blameless before the throne the scripture says.

we christians are of the great multitude

revelation 7After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

these are the Christians and even Now God is with us we have the Holy spirit, Jesus is Leading us to living water, He is Our shepherd. its a spritual vision as most prophecies are. this is an image of the present Kingdom of God as seen from Heaven when we sing praises and serve God in Our Bodies ( His temple) here and Now spiritually the Word says were with Jesus in Heaven even Now. we are in that Group redeemed of all nations

well it's written that they are "they who were not defiled with women" so it's referring to that they didn't lust after women as well.
Marrying and laying with your wife does not defile you. So I think the "defiled with women" has a different meaning in spirit.

I can see your point after all Babylon is known as the great whore so religion as well as cultures could stand in their path not just mere desires or things of the flesh, good observation.
This is an interesting thought. The whore has daughters. She's called the mother of all harlots if I am recalling correctly...

Hello FollowJesus,

the 144000 Have only the Fathers Name written on thier foreheads.

14:1 "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. "

You seriously need to study these issues be fore you teach on it. Regarding the above, not only will the 144,000 have the name of the Father on their foreheads, but every believer who is victorious within the church as well:

"The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name."

So, not only do the 144,000 have the name of the Father written on them, but every believer who is victorious will also have the name of the Father written on them, as well as the name of the New Jerusalem and Jesus new name.

a common misunderstanding of revelation is that every word in it will someday in the future be fulfilled. this above and the seven seals are a spiritual vision of God unleashing the curses in the Law of moses, upon israel."

"
When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over
a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The seals are not restricted to only affecting Israel, but will be God's wrath upon all of mankind.

we christians are of the great multitude

No, the church is not the great multitude in white robes! John was just previously told to write letters to the seven churches. The fact that the elder is asking John "these in white robes, who are they and where did they come from," would demonstrate that the elder is introducing a different group other than the chruch. In support of this, the word Ekklesia translated church is never used again after the end of chapter 3. So, who is this new group in white robes and where did they come from?

"Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”

I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

They will have come out of the great tribulation, which is the time of God's wrath and which we as believers are not appointed to suffer and which Christ also rescues us from and keeps us out of (1 Thes.1:10, 5:9, Rev.3:10)

The great tribulation saints, who are Gentiles, will be those who will come to Christ after the church has been gathered and during the time of God's wrath.
