It's history. Bad things happen as well as good. The Bible does not whitewash or play down the follies of humanity or the judgements of God on wickedness.

Genesis 19:36 seems a little much.
Genesis 19:36
“Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.”

I actually find it comforting that the Bible tells the truth about things and doesn't pull the wool over our eyes. It helps us understand how things can go from bad to worse in a dysfunctional family led by a very weak man.

The Bible tells us the good, the bad, and the ugly. I would have it no other way.

The whole chapter emphasizes the fallen and depraved state of, not only Lot, but all mankind.

Genesis 19:8
“Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.”

Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

We all need Jesus, every day.
