I've found that the more I let my emotions dictate how I view things, the more I start to see God as wrong. Like I was just listening to these music videos someone put on youtube with the songs Never Alone by barlow girland I Don't Believe You. And while I was listening to these really emotional, saddish lyrics I got into an saddish mood and kept thinking how could God allow so many bad things.

It's like when I focuse on "love" as the world defines it and emotions I view humans as poor, innocent victims who should be loved and who aren't really truly bad. But then I realized that the Bible says that humans are dirty and completely evil in and of themselves. Just reading the OT and how God killed all those unsaved people in the flood and how the Israelites killed even the little children of their enemies it seems that having emotions and showing "love" as the world defines it are bad. Is "love" wrong?

Sister, I don't believe there is any reason to dwell on what God did prior to Jesus Christ's resurfacing our understanding of God. How could...why would...these are stumbling stones that will only cause doubt and confusion. In 2012, there is no way we can even begin to comprehend "life's" ins-and-outs over 4,000+ years ago. But we can trust that God's knowledge is beyond ours, right?

Remember, humans are evil at the root because there is a war. If you are seeing the lowly marginalized poor, abused, and hurting, and you are filled with pangs in your heart, then that is God lighting your compassion to reach out as His daughter in arms. We cannot ever blame God for what mankind did to "Love" in the garden of Eden. Remember, Jesus came to free love from sin's grip, and He has. Maybe you're feeling that you need to help others see this/know this as well?

Be blessed and thank God that you think about Him...He's obviously got an amazing plan for your life if you are willing to accept it!

Well Selenah, the people of the O.T. Weren't necessarily unsaved. Jesus said the men of Sodom will rise on the last day, and condemn The Pharisees! For if the miracles which Jesus did had been done in Sodom and Gomorrah, they would have repented with sackcloth and ashes. God will be 100% fair, more fair than we could even imagine.

And no, love is not wrong at all. We are to love all people. I hope this helps, God bless!

No no no, feelings are not wrong! They are just confusing sometimes.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind

John 11:35
Jesus wept

1 Corinthians 13
Faith. gifts, deeds are all nothing without love

Hello,
as for my personal experience i can just say that emotions are part of our lives, but if we rely on them,if we start to look for God through them,we'd probably get the wrong point of view of what the Bible says ...
As you can see from the OT to the NT there are some expressions of emotions, but if we compare emotions to faith,we can see that Faith is not based on emotions,on how we "feel" or what we "feel"...but just reling on a word which sometimes is contrary to our emotions.
If you look specificly to the Word LOVE of the Bible you can know the the original meaning is divided into three words in greek which is : Agape - Fileo - Eros.
Usually we read "Agape" as the sense of someone Covering and gathering us like in a warm hug,Fileo is like a brotherly love like a "kiss" as the greek word says...
So,are emotions bad? No, but with a good understandment of the original meaning of the words and a good study of the word one can realize the real meaning behind all the situations and emotions happened in the Bible .

Feelings are not bad in and by themselves. But feelings can cause much trouble and problems if you base your belief system on them, if your faith is dependent on them or that they affect you into thinking something which is not true.

There is a false and sentimental "love" in the world, a love that looks to totally other things than the love that God wants us to have. The love of God is salt rather than sweet, hot rather than lukewarm and it rejoices NOT in iniquity/lawlessness.

I am glad that you are awake and see this. Especially youth in your age is targeted by the wicked themes of music, movies and radio shows. Many young people fall easy prey for this.

May the Most High be with you.

the Lord has given us freedom of choice without restriction
Most of the evil that infects human is the result of their selection to evil
Even those who chose to be good
They have to choose to stand in the face of evil chosen
Is it not strange that after God blessed us with all those blessings
we wonder if he love us
Lack of understanding of some things does not make us right

selenah; It's like when I focuse on "love" as the world defines it and emotions I view humans as poor, innocent victims who should be loved and who aren't really truly bad. Actually, our emotions follow our thoughts, and we have control of what we think.

If God allowed people to be killed in the OT, it was always to protect and care for those people who chose to live with Him forever. If people insisted on living a life with their own rules and Gods that men created they weren’t part of the family of God, they would die instead of living with God forever. The problem was that they got some of God’s family to follow them, it was like killing them. God sometimes got rid of pagans to protect the people who would live with Him forever. Even in the flood, God never destroyed poor innocent men. Those people had been on earth thousands of years, God gave them every chance to listen and live with Him. It was time to start over, to give a better chance for men to listen and learn.

God's purpose for us is for us to live with Him forever. It is not in the nature of God to live with sin. There is sin and evil in our world, so God sent grace for us. Even though we do not merit salvation, if we accept God it is given to us freely. God gave a way for us to be cleansed of our sin. I don't understand what Christ did those three days between the cross and when He rose, but I know it made a way for me to be forgiven. We are saved through Christ’s blood on the cross.

Nothing God has ever done, and no law God has ever given us has been other than the law of love.

Sometimes our earthly thinking does such to us as have us protect and care for people who have shown that they would kill, they are capable of murder. God wants us protected from such people, it is not love that has us protect murders. If we loved, we would see to that they never harmed God’s people again.

first, protect your heart. Emotions aren't bad, but they are powerful. They can be used against you. Keep your faith in God. He is righteous, He is loving and He is perfect, if we don't understand what is happening, we should be comforted that it is God in control and not us. I find that people put too much emphasis on "this life" to me, this life in comparison is nothing, and that comforts me to no end. Everything in this life is a gift and that is why I "consider it all joy." The world will get you to question things. Wear the armor of God. Question everything in the world BUT GOD.
