Dear friend, you forget: we are lazy Americans! lol
We just call all that green-ish stuff surrounding our houses "the yard". There may be flower gardens in the yard (but it's all the yard), which tends to be a grassy area. However! anywhere we grow produce of some sort (our beans, lettuce, melons, etc.) is separate from "the yard". That would specifically be "the garden" as opposed to those lovely spots we have flowers growing, (at least, where I live it is) even if it's smack in the middle of "the yard".

Have I sufficiently confused you yet?? I believe I've given myself a headache. ;)

*asks husband to brace up the floor under the second story (???not sure how that'll get done) to compensate for bookage, as psychomom could already open a library for the public*

yay! You like books, too! Now I just need to learn your language! :) *happy sigh*
We can read and eat cheap death-in-a-bag!! :D
Lol. Yup, am indeed confused. lol

What is death- in- a -bag?

Sure, I'll happily teach you :D (For a simple starter, Hi = Hei)
*longs for a place with room enough for loooots of books*

Then you can teach me those fancy english words I've never heard of.
I remenber the first time I was watching The Holy Grail, I got su curious about the whole "shrubbery" business I had to look it up to see whether or not it was a real word :D

oh, and since we all have so many books, why not build our own library in the middle of nowhere?

Hmmm, Ive always called it the garden, but I also say garden for what I do, and all my vegies are in the garden as as well.
Now the first part of garden is gard, so this sounds more like a prison, if you think about it. :)
But maby both are a prison, when it comes to weeding I sometimes feel like Ive been sentenced.
But then sentenced could also be a verb for writing a sentence, but then does this mean just words or a sending one to prison........?
Ouch, my brain is begining to hurt!!!!!

God bless:)

Quite conveniently, I live in the middle of nowhere!! (yay!!)
Oh, and death-in-a bag refers to an earlier post I made. A friend after church one day talking about the scripture "death where if thy victory" stopped himself and said--"Oh! here it is in this Burger King bag!"
So now in my family we call fast food death-in-a-bag! (weird sense of humor, anyone?)

*tells hubby to clear a space in the woods behind the house for the library*

ps- for the record, I don't think I even KNOW any big English words. Well, maybe solipsism, but that's about it. ;)
AND I confess to an affinity for Monty Python. Shrubbery--hahaha

It's the middle of the night, and I'm on the deck with my laptop, and I hope I didn't wake the neighbors laughing out loud at this!!! :D
Weeding IS like a prison sentence!
Nice to know I'm not the only one who gives herself headaches! lol

I was sitting in my garden myself a few hours ago.
But the slugs were coming out and I started commiting slugicide!
I do wonder some times what my neighbors must think when hearing me yelling : yes! another dead and crushed, or die you miserable slime Die!"
Sometimes I just laugh evilly and say, "into the bag you go !"
Maby thats why they are so careful around me? :)

God bless

Only the bad bugs, we want the ladybugs, butterflys and dragonflies! :)
But the slugs, bad bugs and snails have to go!
Do not like them making a happymeal of my vegies and flowers!
Or books as well!!!

Speaking of happy meals, I found out today, that the snails in my garden are the edible kind.
Maby some escargo served here soon? :D

pickles, I gotta quote my 17 yo daughter on this:
"Why would anyone eat something that leaves a slime trail?" *picture horrified face*
LOL I love that kiddo--she was quite serious, and said it a few years ago when she first heard of escargot.
But the book bugs have to go! My 19 yo daughter adamantly refuses to get a Kindle, or other such digital reading device. She maintains the purity of the printed word, and says there's something about the feel and smell of a book in your hands that cannot be replaced. I kinda agree with her on that. *sigh* How did I ever get blessed with these amazing people in my life??
And that goes for all of you, too. :)
~ellie

ps- Jeffrey--the coffee's getting cold!! Hurry! And bring a book. :)

*hurries off to let hubby know we need new garden space as well*

Unsubscribing to this thread now. Have a good one and avoid McDo for yer health' sake. Try whole grain oats with cinnamon and ginger powder instead - tribesman's recommend.

My daughter has the same opinion ablout snails, but I had them in the past at resturants, stuffed in mushrooms and enjoyed them.
I get over the yuck by calling them land clams. :)
I do not know how to prepare them myself, but Im always game for any free food from nature!:)
Mushroom picking is another fave, love those chantrelles!

I agree about books, bound and written is the only way I read as well, several full bookcases and many old sea-chests full of books, a joy!
My daughter feels the same way about books, her trips to the library require boxes to carry them home. :)
And bugs beware, the books are off limits!

God bless :)
