Are rewards because of the tribulation.

If we don’t give up the faith, and don’t take the mark if the beast, and if we don’t worshipped the beast, neither his image. Then we will lived and reign with Christ a thousand years.

This is a part of are rewards.

Rv20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rv22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

peterT, i have one question:

what reward is greater than the reward of having salvation from Christ?

Jesus is testifying to the churches that in Him is life... our eternal life comes from Jesus Christ. That's what our reward is when He returns.

5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of
the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give
reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them
that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them
which destroy the earth.

Salvation and eternal life maybe your only reward O ye of little faith

"o ye of little faith?"
excuse me? do you know my faith? apparently not...

and answer this: what reward is greater than the Son?

or do you still think you're going to be living in a mansion made out of gold... or, as the Bible would put it, road pavement?

Mat 5:11-12 "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. (12) "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Mat 5:44-46 "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (45) so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (46) "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

Mat 10:42 "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."

Luk 6:22-23 "Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. (23) "Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.

How is salvation a reward by being a sinner? A reward is from works done. Salvation is a gift not
earned.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

at first, i also thought that there was some divine reward that we would receive, like a house or something... or maybe even a crown... I've been doing some studying on the state of the dead, the rewards of the saved, the punishments of the unsaved... more end-time studies... now, I'm still unsure about the crowns... but i'm open minded to being wrong about the crowns... anyways, it made me ask myself:

is there anything greater than Jesus?
is there any reward that is better than Jesus?

the simple answer is no.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
He that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24:13)

Jude 1:17-22
17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.
19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;

now this is slightly off topic, but salvation can be forfeited if we stop abiding in Christ

I agree,

I don't know about the crowns either really but I have a tendency to lean towards,
A mindset, if these are Gold then it speaks of the Nature of God, and we are to put on
the Mind of Christ, and I do believe that the Crown of Thorns upon His head is definetly
The Carnal mind, that He put to death. so...............that's kinda where I am in this.

So, are you saying no one is saved until Jesus returns?
I'm saying our salvation is conditional upon our faith... as you so elegantly quoted Ephesians 2:8, that same verse tells us that we are saved by grace *through* faith.
we can know we are saved by continually abiding in Jesus.

That is exactly what his doctrine teaches but he is too embarrassed or insecure to come right out and say it as you have, because he knows that others would think him foolish, and we do.

haha, this makes me laugh... you think i'm actually insecure about my own salvation?
i consider myself secure... not by my works, but by His promise that if I remain in Him, I am saved.

others have talked to you about this, so i'm through discussing soteriology with you.
your antinomian doctrine is going to get you thrown into the lake of fire.

Quite a judgment you have made there? I wonder who you conferred with on that one, was it with the one who came not to condemn but to seek and save those who are lost or was it with someone else. God knows!

by their fruits, ye shall know them.

Peter denied Christ three times and even cursed his Lord warming himself at the fire of those who said crucify Him (Mk 14:30,66-72). Did our Lord deny him when Peter then backslide with the others and went fishing? Read the story, you can find it in (Jn 21:1-14). Perhaps the Spirit will reveal the heart of God that was in Christ in this beautiful story of restoration and fellowship. The love of God is faithful and stronger than any denial that comes from a weak frail sinner. Perhaps you are so occupied with antinomianism that you would like to make that charge against Peter. Don't forget that Peter has a track record being rebuked by the Lord in (Mk 8:32,33).

Earl Radmacher said the following in Grace Evangelical News, Vol. 10, No. 3, May-June 1995, pp. 1,4:

As I write these words, I stand in God's sight faultless and perfect because God Almighty sees me through Jesus Christ. There is no compromise to that. No one who knows Jesus Christ will ever appear at the Great White Throne of Judgement of Revelation 20. Believers shall appear, however, at the Judgement Seat of Christ (the Bema) and will be judged by their works (2 Cor. 5:10). It is significant to note that both the unregenerate and the regenerate will be judged by their works. The unregenerate will be judged by their works at the Great White Throne Judgment and the results of that judgment will be degrees of eternal punishment in hell. The regenerate will be judged by their works at the Bema and the result of that judgment will be either reward or the lack of it.

What do you think of that?

what do i think?... I think James 2:13-26... our works prove that our faith is genuine

and i ask again:
what possible reward could be greater than the Son of God?

The best gift from God is salvation from death, which was where we were all headed before God made salvation available through Christ. Once a person confesses Jesus as Lord and believes God raised him from the dead, he is saved (Rom 10:9). He has eternal life. He is sealed with holy spirit. Again, that is the gift, freely given to us from God when we believe on His Son.

But there will be rewards given to us based on our walk. I cannot say I understand what they will be (the various crowns, etc), but I believe that whatever they are, they are worth working for. We do not work for salvation, that is the gift from God when we believe. We work for rewards. If a person has no works, or "bad" works, they will count for nothing. But the person remains saved.

1 Cor 3:15) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
