You'd think that one of the most important books every written would have generated a video game by now. There are some great books in the bible that would make for some great games. I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.

There have been a few games where you play god. Such as Black & White, Populous etc. They are obviously religiously inspired although no specific religion.

Could be an untapped market here lol

If we (society) weren't used to video games depicting violent crime, realistic death and bloodshed, blasphemous storyline material, secular soundtracks, and incredibly colorful vocabulary, it really does make you wonder what games we might find "fun".
For that satan moesn't exist...

By Christian entertainment, I mean games and movies and TV series but whatever. I wouldn't call the joy the Holy Spirit gives 'entertainment'. Can you please stop condemning everything?
am not condemning, should i list out threads and post which shows real condemnation...?
you won't ask,i know...
Holy Scripture doesn't favour any game...
From where did you get Christian entertainment?
Its nowhere in Holy Scripture;)
Speechless??
people want others to be civil when they are not:D

Didn't you know one of the signs of a highly spiritual person is to condemn everything around you and to insert hyper-spirituality into everything? How can you expect a pharisee to be a pharisee if he isn't putting someone or something down as not being as spiritual as he is? Give a pharisee a break tintin!
i can see that in your profile pic:)
never mind..
be straight,why go indirectly...?
am listening,if you got something better...
Honesty first,...its not about silly reputation..
that's what pharasees go after, same today..

Seriously? The Bible also doesn't mention, cars, mobile phones and laptops etc. Does that mean they're evil? No. An absence of something in the Bible doesn't necessarily mean it's not of God. God has given us brains, and more importantly the Holy Spirit, to help us to be discerning in our choices.

you take it literally...the things we use how much is essential does matter,
its not about entertainment...
Cars, mobiles, laps are made by companies that stand in God's way.
But we use them daily for the time in which we live requires it..
That's a lot different than wasting time playing violent games that promote rage, seduction, etc

If someone used specs to read in 60's and an elderly person of that time said its taboo to use such a stylish one instead of the one eyed glass at their times....its pure nuts and its clear favorism.
But gambling and vile entertainment was/is always sin.
The games skyrim, simcity(sin city)etc promotes sex and is targeted at kids and timid people...
Should i go in detail?

you're right..but the profit from it must go for progress of God's Kingdom,...not into one's pocket.
Also games like that must be made after Praying a lot and in God's Guidance for Edification and Winning souls for Jesus..
Otherwise nothing Divine and Godly about it..

Video games that promote rage, seduction? You're the one mentioning these things. I never said such things. There are many games are don't play because they're too much. Also, I barely play games these days. I've never played Skyrim but it's certainly not aimed at children. It's kind of sad that you say Sim City is a problem. I'm not sure how it promotes sex, but I guess you find sex in everything (or maybe you're just clueless about games). Finally, there are so many different genres of games and some of them have no violence, adult themes or anything of concern). How do you not understand this?

All genres of games are worldly
-point made..:)

lol,you play and don't play...i get it...
sexual pervertedness, violence is the main thing of games...
we are in gameplay discussion thread..not about discussing anything else...
skyrim is meant for adults?is there an invisible mechanism that detects the player is kid?
And if it is adults,Christians are ok to play it?
wow!
are we trying to waste time reaching nowhere?
sin is sin,yes simcity has such perverted simulations....

Does that give you the idea i don't get attracted to woman or i live not in this world?
Yet we can lead Life of Separation by God's Grace....even if there is a struggle in beginning..
Saints of the past had to deal with relevant temptations of their time..
i know my english is crappy,...but you get it nah?
:)

Actually, no, you're not. You're in a thread where someone asked if there were any bible based video games. You have just hijacked his thread to turn it into a debate thread whereby, as is the norm for you, you have to find something to criticize and turn a non-debate thread into a debate. You seem to gain great pleasure in causing dissension wherever you go, and always in the name of God, ironically.

If everything by a non believer is tainted then this is a unavoidable sin the very keyboard I type on could have been made by a non believer and how do you know for sure there unbeliever if a game has god in it there has to be a believer somewhere in there

I don't think video games are inherently evil, but they have the potential to be just like so many other things.

The harm comes most heavily in the form of addiction. When I was 14 I was completely addicted to a game called Everquest. Played it so much that I shunned relationships and everything else. What ultimately helped me get free from this was realizing that I retreated into video games, because I was shy and full of anxiety and had a difficult time with people anyway. It became a coping mechanism like alcohol has become for many people. I eventually realized it was not a life I wanted to lead anymore and I found myself hollow and empty.

Truly, it is addiction that is one of the greatest problems we face with video games, but in balance or moderation I don't think gaming is wrong (however there are some games I find to be truly evil just in and of themselves, because they were made to be that way).

Sports are not evil, but the addiction and idolatry that can come with it, is. I once went to a guy's house who was obsessed with the Dallas Cowboys. He had an entire room dedicated to objects from them and when I saw the room I literally got an upset stomach and felt the weight of idolatry to be so oppressive that I left. The man neglected his family in service to his addiction and whenever that happens with ANYTHING, it is sin.
