Being pruned and being punished by God feels the same.
If you are doing everything you know how to do to be doing Gods will. Making sure to also be doing good things for others.
Then you can be in a time of being pruned by God to bear more fruit. We are called a branch of the vine.
To be pruned means branches are cut back or off. It hurts to be pruned.
So us being pruned by God ,to put out more good things for God can hurt us.
We call it being tested so we can go to a higher level.
So if everything isn't going perfect to you or around you, remember you are not being punished. You are being pruned to go to a higher level.
So don't get mad at God if you are going through trails.
God bless you all.

Being pruned does hurt. Sometimes God takes away what you hold closest to you in order to bring you closer to him. Beleive me I had this recently, God was no longer my top priority and because of that, i think my 8 month long relationship had to end, i knew it deep down, but refused to accept waht God was telling me in that regard. And yes it does feel like punishment and its the hardest thing in the world not to ask WHY??? Why me?

Yes sometimes we have a bad habbit of thinking anything bad that happens is from the evil one.
Your is the perfect example. Many times we can put God out of the highest place in our lives and he will put us back on track.
How the words says we must rejoice when the bad things are happening.
That can be very hard to do cause like you said we are thinking why Lord why!
But we can keep growing and growing with God if we don't get mad.
The pruning doesn't last forever, just a season.
Whew then we move on to doing much more for the glory of God.

Yeah its one of those things deep down I know its happenign and why its happening, but its not any easier to accept. I had asked God prior if i was being blinded by my feelings, and then that was answered. I now see all the bad things in the relationship that werent healthy for me, and their were plenty even though it was a Christian relationship. It's just hard to let go of something, and really trust in God with all my heart and actions. Even though i know he knows far better tahn me

Ahhh how I thank God for the unanswered prayer of my youth... for he knew my husband a man beyond compare was in my future. Too bad I didnt know it and spend less time in anguish. I went through 10 years of pruning... HARD pruning due to my high value of the opinions of others and my not even considering the opinion of God. Hard to believe at the time that I'd say this but the pruning was worth it! Sporty girl u r already seeing... this is awesome as it took me YEARs to see.

Well if pruning is what God is doing, I wish he would use shears that were a little less sharp. It HURTS!
