Only one that I know of.... it was a one time thing, to prove to the Jews that the Gentiles were accepted by God as His children, too.

You know, Peter walked on water, too..... but it was a one time thing. It was to make a point, to teach a lesson.

I don't recommend that you step out of a boat and try to take a hike.

That's NOT TRUE! On the Day of Pentecost they were Holy Spirit baptized and there was NO WATER IN THE "UPPER ROOM." Likewise in Acts 11:15-16 "As Peter began to SPEAK the Holy Spirit fell on them as on them at the beginning..." (Pentecost)!

That's the way we receive the "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) TODAY! JESUS SAID after we are Holy Spirit baptized we receive "POWER" (Acts 1:8) to perform the MIRACULOUS ACTIONS listed in Mark 16:17-18 with "CONFORMATION" (Mk 16:20) to perform the MIRACULOUS ACTIONS and that we are ALL given "Spiritual gifts" (I Corinthians 12:7-10) AFTER we are "baptized by one Spirit" (I Corinthians 12:13)!

We have NO "POWER" (Acts 1:8) because of the belief in a water baptism which makes TWO and DEFIES GOD'S WORD (Ephesians 4:5) who said "one baptism.":(

If one HASN'T they are NOT "a member of the body of Christ" (I Corinthians Chapter 12)!

Romans 8:9 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, IF SO BE THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. Now if any man have NOT the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS." :(

1 is all we need to know it is not true.. And we have a whole bunch of people being saved. We even have those on the day of pentecost, those peter spoke to in acts 2 received the HS BEFORE they were baptized. how do we know. Because Luke tells us that those who BELIEVED (saved by grace through FAITH) were baptized.

GOD SAID "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) and NO ONE can "ADD" (Revelation 22:18-19) another or you DEFY GOD!

There was baptism in water

there was baptism of the HS

There was baptism (ceremonial washings) of the temple

A livite had to be baptized to be a priest.

a gentile had to be baptised to convert to judaism.

there are many baptisms (or there were in that day) But only 1 was needful for salvation. just like there is one lord and one faith, there is only one baptism which saves.

Unfortunately, Peter "FORGOT" what Jesus said in Acts 1:5 and gave 'a formula' for receiving the FREE "gift" in Acts 2:38 as evidenced ["FORGETTING"] in Acts 11:15-16 causing us to "read the letter" (II Corinthians 3:6) and believe all of the ERRONEOUS water baptisms throughout the Book of Acts although Jesus had "fulfilled" (Acts 1:5)!
What??? Peter "forgot" what he was taught by Jesus, and told people to do that, and Luke put it into the Acts of the apostles as "this is what you should do".... an incorrect teaching? Luke, by inspiration, put that into what would become scripture?

That's the silliest thing I've heard in a LONG time.

And again in John 3:30 John said "HE must increase, but I must decrease" which was saying "Holy Spirit baptism must increase, but water baptism must decrease" for that was why John was "sent" (John 1:33).
Jesus was talking about the teachings of John, not his baptisms... you are "interpreting" scripture to say what you want it to say. John's ministry must decrease, as Jesus' ministry increases.

It's amazing the convoluted twists and turns people will use to make a plain scripture say what they want it to say.

Jesus last words to his disciples told them to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Saying that was anything other than water baptism is disingenuous at best, and at worst is a deliberate mis-interpretation of scripture to validate a personal belief, or agenda.

YES! I've been baptized by the Holy Spirit and "chosen" as a prophet. I've been given "revelations" in HIS WORD and they continue! I'm here to share with ALL but only "a few" will actually "hear" because "revelations" don't align with mainstream Christianity!

"He that hath ears, let him hear!" :)

YES! Peter "FORGOT" and is why Luke wrote Acts 11:15-16 "And AS I BEGAN TO SPEAK, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then *REMEMBERED* I [When someone "remembers" something that means they "forgot" something] the word of the Lord, how that HE said, John indeed baptized with water; *BUT* [which nullifies the preceding words of the sentence] ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost." These are the EXACT words of JESUS in Acts 1:5 that Peter "FORGOT!"

Peter NEVER water baptized again and "Repented" in verse 17 when he said "What was I that I could withstand GOD?"

However Paul ALLEGEDLY performed the last water baptism in the Book of Acts but listen to what he asked these "certain disciples" in Acts 19:2-3:

"Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?"

"How were you baptized?"

Why is Paul ASSOCIATING "receiving the Holy Ghost" with "being baptized" if the apostles had not received "revelation" that water baptism had been "fulfilled?"

Why does Paul define "baptism" throughout the Epistles as Holy Spirit baptism?

In Romans 6:4 "LIKE AS Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father" which is Holy Spirit.

In Galatians 3:27 "For as many as have been baptized INTO Christ [aka Spirit] have put on Christ"[aka Spirit].

In I Corinthians 12:13 "For by one SPIRIT are we all baptized into one body..."

In Colossians 2:12 "Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are RISEN with Him through the faith of the OPERATION OF GOD..." [aka Holy Spirit]!

How do you THINK we are "born again?" It is by the "QUICKENING" of His Spirit via Holy Spirit baptism. Ephesians 2:1 says "And you hath HE *QUICKENED* who WERE dead in your trespasses and sins."

Romans 8:11 says "But IF the Spirit of Him that RAISED Jesus from the dead dwell in you, HE that RAISED up Christ from the dead shall also *QUICKEN* your mortal bodies by HIS SPIRIT that dwelleth in you."

Romans 8:9 "But ye are not in the flesh, but IN THE SPIRIT, *IF* so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwell in you. Now if any man have NOT the SPIRIT of CHRIST, he is NONE OF HIS."

Jesus was NOT "talking about the teachings of John," John told us that Christ "SENT HIM TO BAPTIZE with WATER" in John 1:33 and NOT to "preach." John was "fulfilling prophecy" and "preparing the way for the coming of the LORD" as prophesied in Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1.

Where is Scripture that says "Jesus said John was sent to preach?"

"YOU
are "interpreting" scripture to say what you want it to say. John's ministry must decrease, as Jesus' ministry increases.

It's amazing the convoluted twists and turns people will use to make a plain scripture say what they want it to say."

JESUS DIDN'T SAY MATTHEW 28:19! WHY WOULD HE WHEN HE *KNEW* BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD THAT *HE* WAS THE "ONE" WHO WAS GOING TO PERFORM THE "ONE BAPTISM" MENTIONED IN EPHESIANS 4:5? WHY WOULD HE COMMAND "MEN" TO "GO BAPTIZE" WHEN HE SPOKE EZEKIEL 36:25 AND SAID "I WILL SPRINKLE *CLEAN WATER* ON YOU...?" WHY WOULD HE SAY "JOHN BAPTIZED WITH WATER BUT YOU'RE GOING TO BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST" (ACTS 1:5) "FULFILLING" WATER BAPTISM YET TELL "MEN" TO "GO BAPTIZE?"

NOW THAT'S "THE SILLIEST THING I EVER HEARD!"

TRUE!
And if anyone "say" there is "one" yet BELIEVE there are TWO and practice a water baptism which Jesus has "fulfilled" it's as if you're "nailing HIM back to the cross" and saying that "HE died in vain."

Galatians 2:21 "I do not frustrate the GRACE of GOD: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."

Water baptism was a baptism of "Repentance; Believing that Jesus was coming" (Acts 19:4) performed by John, UNDER THE LAW!

James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, yet offend in ONE POINT, he is guilty of ALL."

sigh.......

I've read some of your 'revelations'. they are not in line with scripture and in fact they disagree with scripture

that creates a real big problem for you and tells the rest of us you are imagining things

understand then, that I will not be responding to your false claims

it's a waste of everyone's time to even bother

Hate to say it but the world is full of them.

Well its a real privilege to meet a genuine false prophet. I've had to show you some errors in your beliefs, but true prophets always line up with the Word of God. And you are another one who uses the term "mainstream Christianity".

well that is the problem with people focusing on 'personal relationship' without first getting grounded and laying the proper foundation in the word to know what is and what is not of God

ain't gonna stop and they come here because somebody is gonna pay attention even if it is only to say 'uh uh'

then, they can say we are not Christians and lay the sceptre of their judgement over the whole forum and when they finally get banned they leave in a huff, certain that they are a suffering prophet comparable to Old Testament prophets

it's like a template, but when you fit so well, you don't see it

Almost completely OUT of context.

He's saying that after he had the vision, and how he had just witnessed it with those Gentiles, he remembered how Jesus talked about the miraculous anointing of the Spirit...

Has absolutely nothing to do with abolishing water baptism.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

One or two?

(1) At the consecration of the priests in Ex. 29, they were washed with water 9 (v 4), put on the priestly garments (v 5) and then anointed with the oil of gladness (v 7), representing the Holy Spirit. The order of events was God given.

(2) in Ez. 36: 25 they were sprinkled with clean water so that they might be cleansed and then (v 27) the Spirit of God was placed in them.

(3) Jesus was baptized in water, to fulfil all righteousness, then He received the Spirit of God. (Matt 3: 13-16) This is not an exception as some claim, it is the rule that He followed to provide an example for us. He was without sin and needed no cleansing for Himself. He is our example.

(4) The apostles were surely baptized in water, as Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John (John 4: 1, 2) before they received the baptism with the Spirit on Pentecost. (Acts 1: 5)

(5) Jesus said that we must be born of both water and Spirit to enter the kingdom. (John 3: 5) One birth, two elements, water and the Spirit.

(6) Those that repented and were baptized received the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2: 38, 39) This promise was made to everyone, as many as God shall call to Himself. It did not end as our dispensationalist friends are wont to believe.

(7) Israel was baptized into Moses in the cloud and the sea. (1 Cor. 10: 1-3) Two elements, cloud and sea (water) The all ate the same spiritual food.

(8) Cornelius and his people received the baptism with the Holy Spirit (Acts 11: 16) after they believed (Acts 15: 7, 8) to show to the Jews that the Gentiles were acceptable to God. Peter ordered them to be baptized in water in the name of Christ. One baptism or two? IMO this shows clearly that both elements are required. No, they did not deny the finished work of Christ, No, they were not commanded to perform works of righteousness, they were doing works of faith, which are works appointed by Jesus.

(9) For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. (1 Cor. 12: 13)

(10) [SUP]3 [/SUP]Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. [SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, [SUP]6 [/SUP]knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; [SUP]7 [/SUP]for he who has died is freed from sin.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, (Rom. 6: 3)
God bless

hornetguy,

How can you say that to someone who is bringing *NEW* and *SPECIAL* revelations?

They are so *special* that they can over-ride and contradict the Word of God. Imagine "Peter forgot" and now some has to remind him.

Swaggart has had similar revelations. he believes that not even Paul really understood the cross even though most people have a hard time with Romans. might be because Paul was mixed up and didn't know what he was talkin 'bout

you can't make this stuff up :p
