Everything that the church does is for our own salvation (which in my church means to unite with God, not to escape hell).
united with God is the escape from Hell, wrath and our earthly Churches do not unite us. God does only

It is not only the baptism that has been turned into a symbol, but everything. For the sects everything is symbolical. Baptism does not get them Christ neither does the Holy Communion. Christ is not mysteriously present in their churches. Their Christ is a Christ of sermons, a Christ of discourses, a Christ about which they sing, but a Christ that remains distant. A Christ that saves them from hell and that's all He does. He does not unite with them, He does not sanctify them which is why they do not honor the Theotokos and the saints. On another thread they even said that Theotokos has not been sanctified by bearing Christ in herself. They believe that Christ is closed in a tower and that He does not communicate His holiness to us, He does not sanctify us. So, you see? Their God remains distant. What a tragedy! In this logic, I understand why they refuse the baptism.

They have transformed the church (whose purpose is to get us in communion with God) into a religion (who saves people from hell and that's it).
Only one true Tabernacle (Church) and that is:

Hebrews 8:1-4New King James Version (NKJV)[h=3]The New Priestly Service[/h]8 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, [SUP]2 [/SUP]a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;

Are we listening?

Your earthly churches do not unite you with God, I know. The Church which has been founded by Christ and which is guided by the Holy Spirit, that one unites us with God. Besides, the word "church" itself means to be in communion with God. So, to say that the Church is only earthly (aka it only contains us, humans and not God) is theologically very very wrong. Maybe now you understand better why christianity is a Church and not a religion (like, you, sectarians, have turned it into).

So that's why God created us? To help us escape from His wrath? How pathetic.

Homwardbound, the post 75 does not answer my question.
God said it I believe it and that has settled it for me, by Belief alone I am saved for he did it all for me and the whole world, By and through belief I am shown a whole new world that is not of this one here and now
if you do not see this time to beg God for God's Mercy maybe?

Mt 3:11 I indeed baptise you with water unto repentance; but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am mot worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.I can not think of a verse that says exactly what you are looking for.....He that believes and is baptised shall be saved, but holy Spirit and with fire or baptised into his death then the answer of a good conscience toward God??? Im not sure. 1Cor ...They were all baptised unto moses in the cloud and in the sea....I think that the substance of baptised into his death, by fire, by the Holy Spirit is placing us in Christ and him in us, which is crucial for a new life, the life of the Holy God in us,Mk And they said unto him we can ,and Jesus said unto them, you shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized with all shall you be baptized with

Do you take the time to read all I have said? One Tabernacle that God erected not man, and this Tabernacle is in Heaven where we worship God in Spirit and truth for God is:
John 4:24New King James Version (NKJV)[SUP]24 [/SUP]God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

OK so at the end of the day no matter what we think upon baptism it all comes down to this. I can never thank God enough that he thought of us enough to send Jesus down to this earth to die for us. That he sacrificed himself so that we may have eternal life with him. Am I worthy? NO! Do I deserve it? NO! But he did this for us! We are all one in Christ our Lord and Savior!

And you dont really know what happened. He got rained on, thats for sure! lol
I would like to attempt to answer your question, Baptism only, first of all is this a work of your own? or are being baptized through faith.

Secondly, when was the theif on the cross baptized? many will say that he followed John and was baptized but then err against their teaching that once saved always saved as he was a convicted thief, meaning if he had been baptized in water then why did he sin?.

Thirdly, no one can show from scripture where any of the Apostles were baptized in water, it can been shown that they were baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, I see no water in that, do you?

Haha I was baptized in 2010 as a show of my obedience to God. If you feel you need to be baptized to be saved that's fine. Have you accepted Jesus as your lord and savior? I feel that is more important than anything!

Romans 5:10
For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Colossians 1:22
in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
