Salvation and being "Born Again" are synonymous. The only "water baptism" required for being Born Again is the one in our mother's womb (the first birth.)

John 3
4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

-
I used to think Salvation and being Born Again were the same but they’re not. Salvation first, then Born Again.

Most Christians understand that Jesus Christ’s Blood and Body give a Believer Salvation but, then we get confused about the purpose of water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism….these two pertain to being Born Again- actually being birthed into the Kingdom of God - our spiritual eyes open and we can see God’s Kingdom.

Saved AND Born Again can all happen together- like with the Gentiles at Cornelius’ house.

They heard the gospel message, believed in the blood and body of Jesus Christ, immediately got the Holy Spirit baptism and then were immediately water baptized….all in one day.

Whereas other believers in Acts 19 were saved by believing in Jesus Christ’s blood and body, had received water baptism but had not yet received the Holy Spirit baptism.

I’ll say it again…

All that believe (and receive) the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ are Saved-they receive Salvation.

Now, the next step…Born Again…

All Believers that are Saved are going to Heaven but for us to see and enter the Kingdom of God we must be Born Again of water and Spirit, which are the two baptisms - water and Holy Spirit.

(My Question: If there are 2 forms of salvation. How would you reckon these verses?

1 Cor 12:13 For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life].

1 Cor 15:
1 Now brothers and sisters, let me remind you [once again] of the good news [of salvation] which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and on which you stand [by faith].

2 By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].

3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

As FD has said, there is one baptism (that of the Holy Spirit) and it occurs at the moment of salvation. There is no "part two" to becoming a child of God.

I am not familiar with any teachings about the way you believe. What denomination teaches this?

Hello @FlyingDove,

Please understand, I never said “two forms of Salvation”.

Salvation only comes by the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ.

Born Again comes by water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism.

Blood of Jesus Christ and
Body of Jesus Christ gives
Salvation.

Water Baptism and
Holy Spirit Baptism gives
Born Again.
You cannot be saved without being indwelt with the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

If someone does not have the Holy Spirit, he is ruled by his senses, and base desires.

Jude

19 These are [i]sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

So I’m sorry, but this teaching that Salvation, and new birth by water baptism and the Holy Spirit are two different events is bad doctrine.

Summery,
Through Faith & faith alone [placed in Christs death/body & blood & resurrection. [1 Cor 15:1-4 cited above] is how every believer receives the spiritual/born again [Eph 1:13-14 cited above] FOREVER abiding Comforter/Holy Spirit Cited [ Jn 14:16 above]. And NO water mentioned, used or needed!

Water baptism is neither a conduit nor a requirement for salvation. However, is an action the believer's faith should lead them to partake in. The Lord gave this action as a decree & it's essential in order to spiritually prosper/grow. Best wished, FD

Sweet @oyster67,

You are a wonderful CC friend and brother in Christ.

Always know you are loved and I am not offended in the slightest if we disagree because you and I both know how all believers are in Christ but at different places in our walk.

I don’t follow any denominational doctrine or teaching because all denominations have been created by man, NOT God.

I simply read the scriptures of The Holy Bible God’s Word and ask the Holy Spirit questions. I know absolutely nothing unless He tells me.

It’s so much fun to approach God with total humility and total dependence on Him for everything… especially understanding the Truth of His Written Word.

God is amazing!!! I looooove Him sooooo much!(y)

Oh dear, joyful @FlyingDove,

I never said water baptism was necessary for Salvation.

I said…

Salvation only comes by the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ; and

Born Again comes by water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism.

A child is a child while in the womb but is not born until birth.

When I was saved at 6 yrs old with the blood and body of Jesus Christ, I was sealed with the Holy Spirit but….

at age 22, I got water baptized and at age 25 I got the Holy Spirit baptism…. WOW! My spiritual senses awakened - the Kingdom of God became REAL, the Bible opened and became easily understood… I could hear God’s voice, I can have conversations with Him. I recognize when God the Father is speaking to me, when God the Son Jesus Christ is speaking to me, and when God the Holy Spirit is speaking to me.

I think a lot of God’s children are stuck in the womb and need the water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism!

All of God’s children are saved, it’s time to be Born into the Kingdom of God!(y)

You may not agree with anything I’m saying, please know that that is okay. It was just time for me to say what I said.

Much love to you in Christ!(y)

I'm still confused with your perspective. Having said that, I don't believe disagreements are completely unhealthy. I'm confident you know & love the Lord. In the end, the Lord will solve all doctrinal disagreements. And we will each stand before Him on our own. Answering for what we said & did. Your friend in Christ, JJ

Water is the the Gospel, friend
No water needed friend:

The Gospel/Good news is:

1 Cor 15:
1 Moreover, brethren, "I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you", which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
(MY NOTE: The apostle declares the gospel which He preached)

2 "By which also ye are saved", if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
(MY NOTE: By which also ye are saved)

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how "that Christ died for our sins" according to the scriptures;
(MY NOTE: Is, Christ died for our sins)

4 And "that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day" according to the scriptures:
(MY NOTE: Christ was buried & He rose again the third day)

Verses 1-4 Recap: I Paul, declare unto you the gospel which I preached - By which also ye are saved - is -Christ died for our sins - Was buried & He rose again the third day""")
