Prayer. God has more than a million ways of solving a situation where we can not see one. If only we pray. You may be surprised how easily God can resolve this situation if you present it to him regularly in prayer. I think its Paul that says bring those that speak evil of you to shame by your good works. Work hard to show that what he is saying of you is not true. This will also help restore your self confidence. Try avoid his company and interacting with him in any way. Out of sight is out of mind. He will find alternative things that will occupy his mind and lose interest in you while you are waiting for an answer to your prayer.

Though it would be good, we can not always find ourselves in the most promising company. In Heaven God was a perfect ruler and the Angel's were perfect as well. Even in that perfect environment there arose someone that decided to bad mouth God to the other Angel's and to destroy his name in order to gain their allegiance. He succeeded in gaining a third of the heavenly angels but God didn't change. He continued being who he was and thankfully continues to be so till today. Might we expect better circumstances in a fallen world. Also think of the president of your country. Possibly up to a third and in many cases more than that of your countries voting population may at times speak negatively about him or her. That is excluding the TV stations, newspapers etc. However he or she still gets up each morning, ignores negative Ill attitudes, goes to work and puts in a full hard day of work, working with all of their effort. A good name is more valuable than gold. If anyone tries to make you feel of less value than you are try to get as far and as quickly away from them as possible. However if this may not be possible we may still go through the storm if Jesus is in the boat with us. Most importantly, prayer resolves many challenges that we may face in life.
