well, that may be one reason the same people often go forward at an altar call
they are given the impression that an altar call makes it 'real' and not taught or study for themselves, that there is no mediator between God and man except for Christ Jesus
and then we have churches that count those who come forward and cry 'success'
You say that above and yet what you said next is the opposite.
Paul never said that tongues was for every one.
1 Corinthians 14:[SUP]5 [/SUP]I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Wishing that all would speak in tongues is one thing; but saying that Paul had meant that all can speak in tongues is another when the point of that message is to exhort believers to seek the gift of prophesy over the gift tongues; that tongue that supposed to come with interpretation since it is not a stand alone gift for any one to use privately.
If none of the other manifestations are taught to be received by seeking to receive the Holy Spirit separate from salvation, then neither is the real God's gift of tongues which is of other men's lips to speak unto the people.
It is apostasy to believe the lie that one can receive the Holy Spirit separate from salvation. It is why God permist the strong delusion to occur.
That is why that same rudiment is found in those wild encounters where they seek to receive the holy Spirit apart from salvation results in confusion. And babbling nonsense to be used privately without confusion when you know not what that tongue is doing.. as claimed as self edifying or the Holy Spirit praying or giving thanks or whatever.. that is confusion. That is why tongues was never meant to be a stand alone gift that it has to come with interpretation for that tongue to be fruitful to the tongue speaker. There is no edification until it is interpreted. That is why prophesy is better than tongues.
That is why God's gift of tongues will come with interpretation in the assembly; and cannot be used for private benefits.
Believers are not to believe every spirit but test them as there is a supernatural tongue in the world that is babbling nonsense as found in world's religions, occult, idolatry, and cults in christianity.
Opening one's mind is akin to new age mentality of opening oneself up to receiving other spirits which is not the real Holy Spirit since He has been in you since you were saved.
If Paul question "do all speak in tongues" , then it is obvious that not every one will speak in tongues, but for you to switch the tongue around from ministry to personal use is to ignore Paul's clear reproof that that kind of tongue is not of Him at all, otherwise Paul could not ask that question "do all speak in tongues" if everybody was supposed to have that tongue.
You cannot prove to any one that you know what that tongue is for when for private use, because you do not know what it is about. That is the epitome of confusion. That is why it is not coming with interpretation because you received it by way of experiencing what you had thought was the Holy Spirit coming over yu apart from your salvation. That was not Him. How can you receive Jesus Christ again? You cannot. That would be denying that you had received Him in the first place.
So go before that throne of grace praying normally to Jesus Christ for help in revealing the truth about that extra experience and that tongue that came by it, because only He can expose that work of iniquity for what it is since others have capitalized on that receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation in having those "wild encounters".
Would God endorse falsehood by manifesting tongues that never comes with interpretation? Or would God manifest tongues with interpretation to expose falsehood? God is not One to look the other way when it comes to lies in His ministry so if He is really bothering to manifest tongues which is to come with interpretation for the edification of the church, you better believe He would use that tongue with interpretation to reprove the body of Christ of works of iniquity, but as it is....
Tongue speakers ignores the existence of the Catholic Charismatic Churches as they speak in tongues and yet not once has any of those churches been reproved of Catholicism to depart from it by any manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Why not? Because the Holy Spirit is not manifesting tongues in that church, that is why not.
Matthew 7:21-23 has those who profess Him as workers of iniquity in spite of prophesying in His name, casting devils out in His name, and doing wonderful works in His name. All those miracles, but they were in iniquity that denied Him, and that is why He denied them as never knowing them... not because they were not saved, but because they were workers of iniquity.
Any iniquity... be it foolishness to be addicted to porn or idolatry or some other work of the flesh to a religious work or supernatural manifestation that denies Him.... Jesus will deny them entrance to the Marriage Supper at the pre trib rapture event. We all need to trust Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to deliver us from every evil work and to preserve us unto His heavenly kingdom. As it is, those left behind are still His in spite of being workers of iniquity, as their works will follow them in the dust.. ashes to ashes... so that the spirit may be saved in the day of Christ.

I need the Lord Jesus Christ as my Good Shepherd just as much as you do, as I need Him to keep me from my sins and to help me see any iniquity that I am not seeing in following Him in serving Him by testifying of Him in seeking His glory as His disciple.
The gospel of tongues is not preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ but departing from that gospel unto another gospel when there is no receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation. Preaching tongues to seek after is not what Paul was endorsing as the gift for any believer to seek after, but the gift of prophesy is. So the gospel of tongues does not serve Him at all.
So please go before that throne of grace and pray normally to Jesus Christ for help in seeing where you are with Him. Only He can help you discern good and evil by His words in the KJV to know that you need His help to stop being a disciple of tongues in seeking that glory and testify of Jesus Christ ONLY in seeking His glory as being His loyal disciple by teh grace of God.
