because of the subject matter?
because of the style?
because of the color?

what makes them demonic?

demonic as in 'they portray demons' or 'they are the work of demons' or 'they are evil' or 'seeing them does the devil's work to the viewer' ?
I've seen a few things. I don't talk about it. Call it my opinion. We don't need to portray evil to this extent.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 :giggle:

For that matter, what makes them not-demonic? What is uplifting about them? Who inspired them? The HOLY Spirit of God?

yes

if my faith is at risk if i admit Satan exists then i have bigger problems than artwork.
Well that's true. Scripture deals with the devil and his demons but they are defeated. As Paul stated, it's not the idols, but what is behind them.

Perhaps this is a principal people do not understand until they have to deal with the 'what is behind them'.

Note I am not addressing that least sentence you personally. I don't know you well enough to apply it that way. But, travelling through this forum (and again this is not my first internship here) it seems people either make too much of him or disregard him altogether. He is happy (for now) either way.

If a painting can imperil a saved soul the one at risk is following a false god.

Because oil and canvas is presumed more influential than that God.

That nonsense is what helped Catholic church and English state execute countless people hundreds of years ago.

It's the propaganda of oppressors and dictatorships. It's why books were burned, banned.

We can't let ourselves be led down a fundamentalists dictatorial terrorist oppression alleyway again. Even when the guides blaspheme our king of heaven in claiming that journey would be righteous in his sight because his sovereignty is threatened by oils on canvas.
