Nope. I believe in the authority and witness of Scripture. I disagree with Luther and Calvin on many issues.

Just one example, I believe credo-baptism over pedo-baptism.
If you disagree with Calvin, why the icon of Calvin with Unconditional Change on it? Why venerate him if he is false in some way? Shouldn't we have better teachers. Of course a teacher may be mostly good, but not infallible. But Calvin's heresies are destructive. They cost Servetus, another heretic, his life, death of one heretic killing another heretic.
Eastern Orthodoxy is not heretical.

Zone: Are the good works that GOD DOES in a Christi
an filthy rags? Is Ephesians 2:10 false? Does God prepare good works, or are good works all bad? Can't God do whatever He wants to do, and can't He makes some people's works good, and not filthy rags?
Of course Mercy comes first Titus 3:15, before works of righteousness result from being saved by faith.
In Erie PA Scott
we were talking about good works wrought in us after regeneration. then we weren't.
unregenerate man helping God vs regenerate men walking in the good works God prepared for them beforehand.
but you keep moving the subject around, mixing justification and sanctification.

i'm not playing today scott.

maybe you should busy yourself with the question "what must i do to be saved"?

what's taking so long? don't you BELIEVE?

John 3
You Must Be Born Again
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born againb he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

I'm not part of the EOC, so It's not like I'm worshipping a picture.

I saw the picture on google images, and liked the picture.

Why venerate him if he is false in some way?
Again, I'm not an Eastern Orthodoxer.

Shouldn't we have better teachers.
I think he was good at teaching, just wrong with some of the things he taught.

Does that change whether they are in or out of a church?

But Calvin's heresies are destructive.
O'rly?
They cost Servetus, another heretic, his life, death of one heretic killing another heretic.
Lol, dude. I don't care who taught it. I believe it because Jesus said it in John 6.

Eastern Orthodoxy is not heretical.
Of course, until you read the bible.

Dear JD:
Exactly. Neither does the EOC "worship pictures". That's Calvinist bigotry!
It's hypocrisy to forbid images of Christ and Mary and the Saints, and to call it idolatry, and then Calvinists make images of Calvin and the "Reformed Reformers" (sic). Sheer hypocrisy on the part of some of the Reformed Christians!

Dear JD: Why would you like (venerate) the picture of a man who murdered Servetus and other people?

Is there such a difference between justification and sanctification? If justification is merely being declared just, is there a big difference between "just" and "holy"? Isn't the justice righteousness and holiness of Christ imputed to us when we are both justified and sanctified?
Doesn't Christ also sanctify us at the same time He justifies us by faith "which worketh through love" (Gal. 5:6). We are saved by Christ's love for us (John 3:16), and we love Him, because He first loved us (1 John).

Dear JD:
Do you read John 15:26? Eastern Orthodoxy teaches John 15:26. Calvinism FAlSIFIES John 15:26
and adds the words "AND THE SON" (FILIOQUE) to the Bible.
You should read the Bible in John 15:26 before you accuse the EOC of not reading the Bible, when the CALVINISTS read the Bible and DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE IN JOHN 15:26. They FALSIFY CHRIST'S WORDS, HOLY WORDS. HERESY IT IS: FILIOQUISM!
At the heart of Calvinist Trinitarianism. Heretical Trinitarianism. Not Orthodox Trinitarianism.

worshipping/kissing mummified body parts is Biblical?

Orthodox believers stand in line to kiss relic, the right hand of St. John the Baptist (Memorable photo 2006)
