Think it would be easier to learn the here and now and then learn the history.

Read everyday!! Also, devotionals, preachers, books about the Bible, none of that can replace reading the PURE word of God for yourself ) The law of Moses, in the OT, was for Israel only to obey. Not the whole world. And! Compare the Bible to the Bible. Verses to verses. May God richly bless you.

the best way to seek Jesus, is to seek HIM personally. pray. pray. pray. pray for understanding of the Bible and life how He wants you to understand. pray for knowledge of the Bible and life and what He wants you to know.

then read the Bible. the spirit will carry you. you will definitely have questions along the way.. and thats what we are here for. but im sure before long, you will be here telling US what you learned and teaching us. God is good.

I would say the opposite...

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The Old Testament was the only scripture they had. New Testament only is like trying to learn algebra without learning the number facts.
