NIV is easier to read than KJV.

The augmented bible adds words to explain words better (for instance, the greek word katelaben kan mean both understand and grasp / grab physically or even defeat, I don't have one here, but my guess is it would have two or three words to say that word, rather than one like the others do. )

Try the NRSV Bible. It's good and easy to read. NIV is good too.

Katy, every Bible translation has errors but they're not the sort that are of eternal consequence (unless they teach something purely contrary to God's Word).

There are at least 16 verses that were removed from the NIV. Not sure why.

I would much rather have a bible version that's complete.

Removed from modern translations maybe because they were never in the originals, have you ever thought about that?

Or they are not in the manuscripts they decided to use. : / I would not assume they chose the best manuscripts. And we need to know the reasons why, they chose the manuscripts they did. Those reasons you might find are not sound; for all these new translations. Different people do things for different reasons. Just because the have a title next to their name does not mean they cant mess . I'm trying to say we need to know more, and don't take something as truth at face value ..

Go on line and find a version you are comfortable reading. The New King James is nice.
There isn't a bible out there that does not have a problem with some of the transulation opinions.
