Bowman - I think what got me was the part of Hebrews 11:1 that says "of things you cannot see". Some would call that faith being blind. I'm not saying our faith isn't "confirmed, trustworthy, or reliable"; I'm not arguing that. I wouldn't believe in the Word/Christ if I didn't believe Him to be confirmed, trustworthy, or reliable. I suppose I misread what your original quote meant. I wasn't meaning to question the validity of our faith.
Faith has an aspect of "unknown"/"unseen". If not, there wouldn't really need to be the aspect of faith. That doesn't make it blind, necessarily, but it's not fully known, either.
