I have not decided on if I believe God's grace is resistible or not
During the 1000 year reign of Christ... the Word says He will rule with a rod of iron, so this means people will still be doing wrong even after satan and his minions has been locked up and the is NO tempter tempting and testing people to do evil.

This surely speaks to the fact that people can and do resist God's grace and His goodness in favor of the pleasures of the flesh.

Yes,your last line is the answer. So we do agree on something here.
He said he disagree with most of the blue lettering....so maybe a small part he agrees with?

Why do some listen and some don't? Is it something innately within them?

Did God create one able to accept conviction and others not able?
Then with that question brings us back full circle. lol I think we are all able but not all will because we have the choice to accept. If you can't choose love, how can it be love? But I think I'll start another thread on that instead of derailing this one.

"Re: Calvinists,Im Asking...

according to calvinism God always fulfills His will right??? and what is His will its that 1 timothy 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth... so will He get that?
Not His will, it's His desire/wants/would have all men, big difference from. I Timothy 2:2 ESV "who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." NIV "who wants all people to be saved" ASV "who would have all men to be saved"

He does not wanting/willing/wishing that any should perish. ESV II Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." NIV "not wanting anyone to perish," KJV "
not willing that any should perish,"

That the world might/should/could be saved. ESV John 3:17 "
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." ASV "but that the world should be saved through him." NTE "but so that the world could be saved by him."

So it's not His
will that everyone be saved or I Timothy 2:4 would read. His will is that all people be saved, II Peter 3:9 not having any perish. or John 3:17 but that the world would be saved. If God's will was that all people be saved.

It's not according to calvinism that God always fulfills His will, it's according to the bible.
[h=1]Isaiah 14:24English Standard Version (ESV)[/h]The Lord of hosts has sworn:
“As I have planned,
so shall it be,
and as I have purposed,
so shall it stand,

As for all men, yeah all men, as in Jews and gentiles will be saved, also all kinds of men, since God is no respecter of persons, the kings, the rich, the poor, the beggars, etc.

That's the two contexts of all men in the bible. And also world.

So true. I wonder where those people get their idea of God from...

They've made it pretty clear on this thread and others recently.

Their god is a god made in man's image.

Man has a better understanding of good and bad, right and wrong, holiness and evil, justice and injustice, and His knowledge and wisdom is limited to what we know and understand. They put constraints on God and make him like man. They don't like the God of the bible so they create their own.

God wants relationship not fear induced servitude.

Like this post, it about what Calvinist believe about others, but is that the purpose of the thread?

A free platform to make assertations of others beliefs?

Any proof that Arminians teach a form of Pelagianism?
That's not what I was saying there at all, but whatever.

And, yes, there is proof about what Arminians and Pelagians teach, but you just agreed with me not to teach what others teach. You really need to make up your mind.

Hyper Calvinist are real. It's spoken against on Reformed websites.

This is the BDF, do you really expect only Calvinist to be on the thread?

Most of the people on this thread ARE NOT FIVE POINT CALVINIST, should they stop posting?

Most call themselves reformed. Wesley considered himself reformed as well, but others have labeled him Arminian and now some would label all Arminians as having some form of Pelagianism.

Which seems to me to be equal to say all Calvinist believe as Hyper Calvinist do because a small sect does.

It's not honest dialogue.
I'm very numbers oriented. I know for a fact the majority of people who posted on this thread are not Calvinists. And of the Calvinists, I've got no idea which ones are 3-points, 4-points, or 5-points Calvinists. Want to let me in on that list?

Scolded? Not even lol. Yeah I do have that right. By defending my position, I am showing them how their misrepresentation and lies are wrong. Do you not realize that this misrepresentation and lying about us has been constant on every thread we get on for a while now? What's your problem? I didn't start that crap and am getting pretty sick of the morons who dunno how to read simple sentences and turn around and lie about what I clearly said I didn't believe. I'm sick of this white-knighting by people who know it's wrong as well and won't take a stand but rather cower down behind those perpetuating it.
I love it when you defend the position. You're very good at that.

But that's not all you do. You defend yourself too.

Defend position. God will defend you! (And proof verses? Just about every Psalm. David spent quite sometime in front of the Lord telling God how he defends for God, and then asking God to defend him.)

Can you speak more biblically? Verse about what God wants etc. I do not know what to imagine in such phrases.
Sure, Start at Genesis 1 and end with Revelations 22

You will see that the whole Bible is a love story of how Father wants to personal loving relationship with you, nothing more and nothing less. He does not want servitude, he gets that from Angels.

If you cannot imagine in such phrases or see Father as wanting relationship, then read all about Jesus Christ, and that will help you to relate to Father. See its simple, if we cannot relate to Father, we look to Jesus, Jesus had relationship while he was on earth and with everyone, including the 12.

If your mind is blown, then my job here is done.

bro i cant claim to believe tulip
im still looking to God for answers to a couple of the statements i saw listed

but you were the first person to reach out to me on here

and showed nothin but love

im not mature (always room to grow)
im still less than 4 years into studies and the first two i probably put in less than 10 hours a week

but from what i can tell (which i am not claiming is a lot)
you love Jesus and seek God

please dont let these people get a rise out of you even if they are in the wrong

stay strong man

(i blew up and quit less than 10 days ago, after someone got a rise out of me.... had to make new account)
Next time, (and there probably will be a next time), just leave without closing down the account. That way you don't have to make a new one when you come back. (Experience talking. lol)

Do you have anything specific? I can imagine about 5 verses just from the top of my head that we are supposed to fear the Lord. And also that we must serve Him.

So whats wrong with it?

Fair enough. While I don't think I was wrong in principle, I was wrong in how I handled it. My patience runs out sometimes.

What's her problem? That's a good question! Part of her problem is she thinks it's her right to defend others, AND herself in here, but it's not right for you to do so. As she stated she struggles with gossip which is a sign of those who are idle. Probably a lot of gossip going on in PM and them telling one another to attack others "for what they said". Misery loves company, and they do come in packs on here. :)

Her other problem is she likes to meddle in other peoples business when they are having within a thread a personal disagreement. She has to jump in and meddle, which is Biblically a fools task.

Here's the thing - busybody meddlers don't have anything going on, so they begin to meddle in others matters. That is the problem with Depleted. Life is "online" for some people.

Here is what Paul said about the idle:

2 Thessalonians 3:5ff May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you,

The not living according to the teaching is accomplished when a person meddles. Maybe she will learn to MHOB and stay out of peoples personal business and obey Christ.

Bro, you've done nothing wrong as you know. Just keep sharing truth, and when one of the hypocrites come crying, lying, falsely accusing and attacking you for it, just thank God, and, of course, expose their hypocrisy.
When have I defended myself from attacks and misinformation? On here or ever?

I'll defend position. I don't defend self.

That's the difference.

I don't know...I have not decided on if I believe God's grace is resistible or not. Also unsure about predestination/election versus foreknowledge.

It makes sense to me that we would all resist God's grace but His power changes us and helps us overcome that initial resistance. Because how else would anyone be saved if God didn't first change us and our minds?

Maybe it does come down to what we believe the natural state of man is without God's divine guidance?

Or can we ever actually be without divine guidance?

Hi Ariel,

In case you missed it and I'm not saying you did, :) the article talked about Wesley believing in prevenient grace which allows a person to choose or not choose God.

Is that what you are questioning?

My understanding is that God gives us the grace to know Him, His goodness and mercy and to know our own sin that has caused separation from a Holy God. It's our visitation from God.

And in that moment of prevenient grace, we have the ability to say yes to salvation or no and reject God to our own detriment. I don't know if that's an accurate understanding of prevenient grace or not, so now I'm supposing it's my turn to turn to GOOGLE. :)

Titus 3:3-7 "For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

What do we contribute? Foolishness, disobedience, our
slavery of strong desires to sinful satisfactions, our empty days of evil envious desires, our hatred of others and by others. That is what we bring to Christ, yet He saves us, justifies us by His grace, that we might be heirs of the promise, eternal life. He died for us, not by chance, He laid down His life for us/sheep/elect/church before the foundations of the world.

He asked Job where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? We can say, in your gracious loving relation with me. I wonder if God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in their glory that they shared before all was spoken into existence, if they communed with one another, if they spoke of the time that we will fully experience that relationship of love throughout eternity with them, when God may be all in all?
