I'm not sure the question, "Can God (do something)?" is a valid question. God is omnipotent. As such, He *could* do anything that He wants to. Does he? No. But it's not because he can't. It's because he is not inclined to. /jmho
edit: Oyster said pretty much the same thing that I did. He posted while I was typing this post--due to my big clumsy fingers! lol
In logical terms, it is hard for us to admit God cannot do somethings, because it is against His
nature. Equally not all things are possible, because some are stopped by their own definition.
For instance a rock that cannot be lifted, could be lifted, except that would break its definition.
God restricts things because that is the nature of the thing, which would be destroyed if not
restricted. So sinners cannot be forced to be saved, it is a choice. The choice is about rejection
rather than acceptance. You cannot reject something not offered.
So if we see contradiction, we need to work at resolution. There are enough apparent issues to
make this an issue as many atheists will show you.
For instance Jesus cursing the fig tree. Did it both wither then and there , or by the next day, or both.
My wife would see a dead plant that looked ok to me. So this could be two different observations, both
true, but talking about how obvious it was.
If the order of events varies, the events stand, but when does not. Which matters, the event or its historical
context. For Jesus mostly the content is everything. For some this is a problem because they are very insecure.
