hi everyone , can we judge upon the faith of believers? or can we condemn them of the sins that they do ? what does it a church in this verse ? is it the LOCAL believers? or every believer no matter where he is , even if u never saw him/her !
this is the verse :( [SUP](12 [/SUP]What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? [SUP]13 [/SUP]God will judge those outside) 1 cor 5 :12-13

Leave the Judging To God. what sin anyone does is a sin to God, God judges us rightly. We are as Christians brothers and sisters is only to advice and maybe correct without judgement. if we can't resolve an issue against you brother or sister, then perhaps bring in an elder or deacon or pastor to help reason. Again not to judge. if the person continues to sin, and see no reason, then you pray and ask God to judge the person rightly. as for outside the church, if we judge those who sin, it may give the church a bad name, as we are to love those who persecute us, who sins against us. in all we are not to judge. Only God judges, he is our father, and he will judge rightly to his children.

Hi Azizi, I was just thinking of you today! I hope all is well, you are in my prayers.

We are to rebuke and reprove each other in the church, but if I feel so led to give a word to a brother who doesn't go to my church, I'll do that also. The word 'judge' has a negative connotation in today's society, but it could be accurately applied in the sense that we are to keep one another in line, as iron sharpens iron. Matthew 18, verses 15-18, cover it pretty well. God bless you, brother. -JIM

We are to judge the fruit we see and discern all things.

We cannot judge the end outcome of someone for we do not know the decisions they will make in the future. We can clearly judge where certain conduct will lead but we cannot condemn people.

Remember, Jesus didn't come to condemn people for people were condemned already. Jesus came to rescue people from condemnation and we are to follow the example of Christ and pull people out of the fire and point them towards the freedom that is found in Jesus Christ.

That's a nice opinion, unfortunately its just that, an opinion, that has no scriptural backing.

Can we judge other believers?

Matt 7:16 - 'You can identify them by their fruit,'

Math 18:15-17 - “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. [SUP]16 [/SUP]But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. [SUP]17 [/SUP]If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.

I Corinthians 5 - 5 I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you—something that even pagans don’t do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother. [SUP]2 [/SUP]You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man [SUP]4 [/SUP]in the name of the Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns....

...[SUP]12 [/SUP]It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning.[SUP]13 [/SUP]God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”

It is our job to point out error and to expose false doctrine. But, not to destroy our condemn that is up to God. We don't know the heart.

We are to be of the same mind in judgement. Are we not to then judge all things? Do we not know that the end of whatever a man may endeavor upon in his lifetime will end in death.

Knowing this that the judgement of all here is such, why do we continue to incite wrath among eachother?

here is a little example of how I understand judgement: if you see someone and they are staggering and reek of alcohol, then it is safe to assume that they are drunk. so it would be fine to talk to that person about drunkenness being a sin and that they need to repent of that. if you see someone come out of a store with a six-pack of beer, you should not call them a drunk as you do not know that they are going to go and get drunk with that. this is the difference in judgement.
