I am not saying Mag is not what you said, but I sure am curious to know what post(s) prompted you to say it,
so I also may be edified, because I have been traveling and missing some discussion. Thanks!
Ten years of history and you want specific posts? You funny.

All through history our leaders have been a selfish, greedy, dangerous, group of people.

There are exceptions of course.

Your saying that God elected Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc.

Romans 13:3
For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil.

Well clearly, the Nazis were not promoting good behavior but holocaust and war.

This begs the question does God elect evil governments who promote evil behavior?
NO!!

You relinquished the floor on a public forum. Well let me relinquish the floor for you. I couldn't even convince people that God chose Israel while employing a verse that said God chose Israel. You come and say God chose Israel and viola, everyone agrees. You are a whale of a nuancer. I wish I had nuanced that God chose Israel. You are amazing.
Somebody had to, you wouldn't.
Took me too long to submit to your pulpit. Even if I spit out the gum, I'll be too slow to change back. All yours.
It's your demeanor and complex questions. I got you to focus your question and set aside the nations for now.
You said God chose Israel. @Mem was helpful in posting the Scripture because you weren't. Of course, God chose Israel. When you open the floor for questions, I'm sure you'll be geared up to answer them.
Thanks.
You just need to understand and recognize nuance. There are a lot of subtleties in Scripture.
Thanks. You are too.

I agree, God does not elect monsters to enforce good behavior.

God does not elect Islamic governments that ban the Bible and Church.
God has used horrible people to execute judgment on Isreal in the old testament. What's to say he still dosent? There are just no prophets in the church age to proclaim it.

Why are there no prophets in the church age?

Sola Scripture promotes the ministries and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What happened to the church?

The Assyrians use to flay living enemies. God allowed and used the Assyrians to come against Israel. Election is not discussed in that sense but when Scripture speaks of His wrath and discipline it's not something to be slighted.

There are no more prophets in my opinion because Jesus was the fulfillment of the old testament. The prophets led isreal to that eventually. They also warned people of impending doom. There's a verse that says the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Maybe that is what ot is limited to now. When I say Jesus is going to return im a prophet because that is an absolute fact.
Im not sure what you mean when you asked what happened to the church?

John 3 verse 27~ “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” John 1 3 verses :12-13~ To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God - children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God. John 6 3 verse 44~ “No man can come to me except the Father, which hath sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” Romans 9 3 verse 16~ So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. Romans 8 3 verse 16~ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

2 Corinthians 5 verses 4-5 While we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life. And it is God Who has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come.

God's election in action

Eph 1:4
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world [not because we were but] , that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

Acts 13:48
48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

this then shows what I was trying to say , we all have free will. some come some do not.

But no one has an excuse. because God has not kept his truth from anyone (concerning the gospel)
The best way of saying grfs is that folks are judged justly according
to the opportunity they had to cooperate with God as revealed, whether in creation or in the OT or per the NT.

What if your Verse read God chose for Christians to be in Jesus?
Aren't Christians conformed to the image of Jesus?
Yes!
So is it possible that Verse is not about Christians being elected but rather Jesus was elected to be whom Christians would be conformed to?
