You do not consider systemic pedophilia and other sexual aberrations evil?

You are not the only one who knows priests. I have listened to first hand accounts of what goes in seminaries.

iF you're going to say something so sinister and evil, as you just did,

maybe you could enlighten us as TO WHAT...

since I don't have a good imagination...

If you cannot, don't make such horrid statements.

If you believe this video then I think you need to get your facts straight, the world rejects Jesus.

They're VERY clean from all those kisses.

WHY does it bother you so much that some persons want to express their love for God in their own way?

Do you think they love Peter?
Maybe they're just thanking him for promoting our faith?

I don't know why they do this... but, Quite Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a .....

What YOU SHOULD BE DOING... is loving your Brother Christians instead of showing hate for them.
Have you ever thought of the fact that the person who kisses the feet of a statue may be making a weak person stumble?

One person may kiss the statue of Peter and think, "Thank you Jesus for giving me your gospel through Peter." However, a young onlooker may interpret this gesture as something that a good catholic must necessarily do.

The Bible gives us much freedom, but tells us to stop when our actions make others stumble. The statue kissing tradition has misled and destroyed many. No wonder God had banned the Israelites from even MAKING a statue.

As I have mentioned in another post, my grandmother believed that "Mother Mary" lived inside the statue standing on the home altar. My elder folks made me kiss the feet of saints and pray to them.

So, the bottom line is that our freedom of expression should not make someone else stumble.

Herein lies the problem. Everyone does what he (and not God) feels is right.

WHICH man-made traditions are you speaking about???
Candles, rosaries, statues, idols, incense, repetition of prayers, novenas, processions, patron saints, mary worship..to name a few.

Some traditions are fine, but they are wrong when they go against the Word of God.

What if two elders, two chiefs, two over-seers, or two deacons don't agree?

What then?
There is ONE HEAD to EVERY Church.
EVERY CHURCH has a "Pope".

One is Jimmy Swaggart.
One is Joel Osteen.

And so on....[/QUOTE]
It often happens that two elders may not agree on a particular issue. However, this agreement can never be about fundamental Christian truths such as who is the head of the Church, for it is clear that Jesus is the head of the Church. In case of doctrinal issues or differences of opinions, elders may also consult mature christians, because elders are servants after all, and not Lords. Elders must seek the spiritual advice of one another and submit to one another and live in peace with each other. Thus they show themselves to be the disciples of the Head and Chief Shepherd- Jesus. An elder must be anything, but infallible. Even Moses often consulted the elders of Israel.

Yes, Jimmy Swaggart, Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Paula White, and other televangelists...are all self-appointed "Popes"

I like what you are saying, but Joel Osteen was a unanimous choice to replace his father by the elders of the church.
He has pastors that do the actual running of the church.
There's no reason to believe that the elders don't control the Lakewood Church.

The priests here know me and I could start a bible study in my home without even telling them.
The problem would be that SOME would call and ask if it's OK for them to attend and it's only courteous that the priest should know what I'm doing.
It's nice that the priests are co-operative in your part of the world.

second of all, you bring up too much.
I know, but I speak from my experience with the catholic church.

I
'll only say that some mistakes are happening in your country (South Africa?) and I think it's because of, MAYBE, your culture there. I cannot speak to this.
India!:) It's unfortunate if it is because of our culture. I thought it was the same everywhere. I still have my doubts.

My main point is this....
Let Catholics practice their faith they way they want to. It's not YOUR BUSINESS.
Your only concern is to love your Brother Christian.
You keep saying the "love your brother" line to everyone. Are you saying that my brother's business is not my business? Are you saying that I must not correct my brother in love?

Maybe Joel Osteen is not self appointed, but I disagree with his prosperity gospel. I once used to listen to his messages, but then he got too prosperity oriented. Of late, he has been plagued with controversies due to some public statements made by him.

All these guys are powerful speakers, but their love for money is something that turned me off. Anyway, may God bless the Lakewood Church. I'm sure the congregation is sincere. Who am I to judge? The Lord himself will test all the so called churches with fire(1 Cor 3:13-15)

I DID NOT CONFIRM THAT THE BIBLE IS AN OUTDATED BOOK.

YOU MISUNDERSTOOD MY POST.
I apologize! There was no question mark, so I thought you were making a statement, when you were actually asking a question. Anyway, you may share the verses I presented, with your catholic friends who do not feel the need to read their Bibles.

We pretty much all follow the catholic church.
We celebrate Christmas on December 25th because the catholic church tells us to.
we celebrate Easter not necessarily on the Passover, but when the catholic church tells us to.
So what we are all doing is picking and choosing which rules of the catholic church we follow, and which ones we don't.

As I said- some traditions are fine. We can pick and choose traditions, but we cannot pick and choose from the Word of God.
