You JoelG are nothing more than a pawn of Satan. You claim to Worship God but then you are a liar JoelG.

You have two and only two choices JoelG. Accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior and enter into Heaven or reject Jesus Christ and spend Eternity in the Lake of Fire reserved for Satan and his Angels.

Right now as i see it you have rejected Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. But you still have a chance to accept Jesus before you die. Once you die in your sin JoelG you will never be allowed to enter into Heaven.

How can you say you are a True Christian when you reject God? The reason everything makes no sense to you JoelG is because you have refused to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by Faith!

You are of the one's who need absolute proof that God is real before you accept Jesus Christ. God will never give you absolute proof Joelg. He wants us to accept Him based totally on Faith.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ IS God?

God wants us to follow Him by Faith.

Yes, in a sense, but........Many a hammer of man's unbelief have been broken on the anvil of God's Word. It can sometimes send someone even further away if they're told, 'you must have faith' or just accept and then God will show you. That sounds very similar to what I've heard about alot of r.catholic teaching, just accept and don't question. But God does not reject the one who's struggling to believe, after all, the fact that the creator of the universe became a man, walked among us, lived a life without sin, for the sole purpose of paying the penalty for our sins, to redeem us back to the very God we've sinned against, through His death on the cross, and proved it by rising from the dead, all in direct fulfillment of prophecy, preserved, through time and given to us in that very fulfilled Word to be able to read and be saved by, .....well....it's all pretty awesome and can be difficult to believe. In fact, even the faith to believe is called a gift from God...By grace we've been saved through faith, and that didn't come from ourselves, it is the gift of God. Jesus didn't say Go, and when you get enough faith, come on back if there's time, we'll talk. No, rather, He said, Come, let us reason together, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.
We sometimes refer to Thomas as 'doubting' but perhaps that's not entirely true. Maybe he could be called 'broken-hearted' Thomas, ... Maybe he wanted so much to believe, had his hope and faith so much in Jesus, but didn't quite understand all the awesomeness of what was going on, that his hope was dashed, and his heart was crushed, at the horrific death of One he'd come to love and believe in so much. (Obviously I'm speculating here) But, maybe his disappointment grew when he had to hear his friends tell him Jesus was alive and visited them, and now he felt he missed his opportunity, and in his dismay he responded coldly, like yeah, right, prove it. And Jesus didn't hold him in contempt, He loved him anyhow. After all, he was really only asking for the proof his friends had already been given, the nail-pierced hands, the wounded side. And how many of us haven't sometimes prayed, along with another in scripture, 'I believe, Lord, help, thou, mine unbelief '. This thread, 'catholic heresy' points out that there IS such a thing, but I believe there are many more victims than perpetrators of it. And I believe there are many who are saved, family included, not BECAUSE of the catholic church, but IN SPITE of it. Meanwhile, if God allows, so should we. Let the doubters, even the antagonists, bring their hammers of unbelief down upon the anvil of God's Word of Truth, He can take it, and we can pray for them, since it's not God's will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. And of course, to faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever, amen. Father in heaven, thank you, Lord, that we can come to you freely, without sin and doubt, because Jesus paid the penalty of our sin on the cross. We pray, Lord, that even today, someone will read this, their heart will be softened and your Holy Spirit will lead them to salvation by faith alone Christ alone. Let them see, let us all here see, through 'spiritual eyes', what Thomas saw with physical eyes, the wounds of sacrifice Jesus paid for our sins, and the empty tomb as proof that God accepts the sacrifice as being paid in full on our behalf by Jesus on the cross. Help us do our part to help keep alive the awesome wonders of your love, and help us walk in the light of your love, and help us grow to know you and love each other better, for our Saviour's sake, to you oh God be the glory in Jesus name, amen.

Judas is a good example of a Catholic. He walked with Jesus, he talked with Jesus, he even ate with Jesus. But yet his Heart was hard and he REFUSED to believe that Jesus Christ was God.

You can say all you want about how we are NOT to tell anyone to believe that Jesus Christ is God by Faith!

Many a person has walked away from the Truth because of their lust and sins and Pride in their lives. But i have never heard of a person walking away from the Lord just because all he needs is just to believe that Jesus Christ is God!

Ephesians 1:3-4
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
[SUP]4 [/SUP] just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love

Actually Jesus Christ chose us first. Then we chose Jesus Christ later on.

God rejects nobody, BUT if they REFUSE to believe that He is God and REFUSE to accept Him as their Lord and Savior they WILL end up in the Lake of Fire along with Satan and his angels.

And you Catholics ONLY have the Truth?

What a laugh!

There is NO Truth in the Catholic Church Today. Just look at what Pope Francis says about Muslims being our Brothers is Christ. Look at Pope John Paul II and how he Worship Mary as his God!

Oh yeah, the Man who ate with sinners, hang out with prostitutes, beckoned tax collectors to follow Him, defended a woman's right to forgiveness (in adultury)... who used the term "Good" Samartian (seriously? Those godless half-breeds who don't even have enough sense to worship in the correct spot?) to illustrate the point that a religious or political label means NOTHING in and of itself when it comes to the heart...

Honestly, if there's anyone He would actively seek, it would be Muslims, among other people we white-washed righteous American Christians consider scum of the earth. Perhaps even all those unbeliving, child-molesting, money hordeing, ritual-obsessed Catholics!

Most Christians, who call themselves that, wouldn't even recognize Him. He'd be accused of ignoring sin, of causing other believers to stumble by being seen in the wrong places, by suggesting that all who believe in Him be one as He and the Father are one... oh that's right, He'd have the task of DEFINING "believer," as this thread clearly shows.

Because "believe in the One who is sent" and "repent and be baptized," these are not enough. The straight-forward language and brevity He used is just too darn simplistic - because it allows WAY to many people who are not like us, who don't think like us to be called believers... even those who don't come right out and boast of the sinning they do not engage in anymore, those who don't make a public confession or cinematic life-changing decision, those who don't know the proper form of baptizing, those who don't yell faith alone one minute and legalism the next.. those who don't follow all the rules just may also be called believers by His short and simple definition.... (*whispers* cos all these side doctrines aren't what make the character - Jesus makes the difference! Imagine that.).

Thers's a ton of other qualifiers He would need to address, that for some reason He was too distracted with loving and teaching people how to love the first time around. That's the purpose of the Second Coming you see, to finally set everyone straight on all these little things that are so worthy of split upon split in the Church.

I digress. (No, I'm not anti-Potestant, in fact, I identify with the Frozen Chosen a great deal. :) Plenty of beef with Catholicism as well, but this is the context.... very disturbing from people who boast of superior respect for Scripture.)

Actually scripture teaches that Jesus came to this earth and ministered to Israel. Jesus did not minister to the Gentiles. Only after His resurrection did the gospel spread to the Gentiles and that because Israel rejected Jesus as their Messiah.

I see that, and yes, He said He was sent for the lost sheep of Isreal. But my point is that He didn't alienate or demonize other nations or people. But didn't He address the disciples to carry it out?

Why are you reviving this thread? I know several Catholics and they love God. I don't seriously think they are heretics. That's a harsh word

Roman catholics need to be saved like everyone else. The biggest objection to them is that their religion gets in the way of salvation. They are very religious but lost. Just like King Agrippa they trust the church instead of Christ.

They alienate themselves from the gospel preferring their gospel to the gospel of God.

They are just religious but lost. The church leadership is apostate for they knowingly teach a false gospel. The folks in the pews are so indoctrinated they cannot hardly see the truth and more often than not prefer the comfort of the church doing for them what they must for themselves through Christ.

I don't think you can paint them all with such a broad brush. I work with some Catholics and we talk all the time. I believe they are saved.

P.S. what prompted me to post this is a couple of complaints that our forum contains a lot of heresy, including Catholic heresy, and also I just now removed a thread that was basically promoting praying the Rosary.
I'd probably do it different. 'There must needs be that heresies exist to show the difference'. Contrast. 1Cor.11:19

Romans 1:18-25
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
[SUP]19 [/SUP] because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
[SUP]21 [/SUP] because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] Professing to be wise, they became fools,

[SUP]23 [/SUP] and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
[SUP]25 [/SUP] who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Its the Roman Catholic Church that suppresses the Truth in unrighteousness. They suppress the Truth by teaching that Mary was born without sin.

Romans 3:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
[SUP]11 [/SUP] There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.

Everybody are sinners. We all are under sin, even Mary.

There is NONE righteous, there are NONE who seek after God, not even Mary.

Romans 3:23
[SUP]23 [/SUP] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Romans 5:12
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--

ALL includes Mary.

This is why the Roman Catholic Church is not a True Christian Church and this is why ALL the Catholics need to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and REJECT the Mary of the Roman Catholic Church.

Those who label such large numbers of people as indoctrinated, with nothing more than a standard line of simplistic debate use by so many of the same persuasion... ignoring such wealth of literature and art therein the body they critique.. are usually indoctrinated themselves. They don't think so, because they've been indoctrinated against such honest self-examination, it being labeled as "doubt" "unbelief" "lack of faith" and so forth.

^ In general. Certainly no group is immune to this.

What I know is you can tell them by their fruit. I know and work with eight Catholics. Several of these men I have known and worked with over ten years now. I know all their immediate families. These are some of the most moral men I know. They go to church, they work hard and raisr christian families. I see absolutely no evidence in these men that they belong to a misguided cult. I just can't accept a lot that has been said here on this thread. I am not Catholic. and I don't know the Catholics you are trying to describe.

Religious and moral men are just as lost as wicked drunken sinners. In fact the drunken sinners are often more open to the gospel because their self righteousness is less easily offended.

Jesus did not say that being a moral man was sufficient get into heaven. He did say that only those who trust in Him alone would be saved. Jesus did not say belief in the church or the pope or Mary was required to be saved. Being moral is not enough. Romans 3 says that no one is moral in Gods eyes. One must be born again by grace though faith. It is only the blood of Christ that can atone for sin. Eph 2:8-9

When I met my wife she was roman catholic. The longer I knew her family and after I was saved it became ever more evident that they were not as moral as I had at one time believed.

Being moral means nothing to God. Have you ever looked into what the Catholic Church teaches? If you would compare what the Catholics teach to what God says you would see the lies they are teaching.

One good example is Justification. God says in the Scriptures we are Justified by Faith. In the Catholic Church they teach a person is Justified by their OWN Works.

Romans 3:19-28
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
[SUP]22 [/SUP] even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
[SUP]23 [/SUP] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
[SUP]24 [/SUP] being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
[SUP]25 [/SUP] whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
[SUP]26 [/SUP] to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
[SUP]27 [/SUP] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.
[SUP]28 [/SUP] Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

We are Justified by Faith, not by our Works like the Catholic Church teachers.

That is why we are to beware of the Catholics and the false teachings in the Catholic Church.
