Well, this Pentecostal doesn't agree that it's been detrimental that continuationism has gained influence, but thanks for the link all the same. :cool:

Cessationism is NOT a BIBLCAL doctrine. It didn't come into exsistance until the 2nd Milleniaum A.D.

checked out the debate and i kind of thought the pentecostal minister made better points about the continuation of gifts.

I'll research some more when i have time.

i now agree.

the miracle of Pentecost is repeated every day in a few REAL denominations (not the ones the university pharisee types go to - YUCK).

and.....the gifts today aren't like they were back then, but WHO CARES!

i thought the Holy Spirit was orderly and Holy....but i have a NEW RELIGION.

in fact, overnight i received ALL the charismatic gifts.

i'm a prophet and i can make your teeth fill up with GOLD.

i can make you fall over backwards and bark like a dog.

so be careful about criticizing me.

i need Unitarian stuff (especially the part about jesus being created in mary's womb).

I thought the cessation debate is as settled as the reality of gravity and the fact the sun doesn't rotate around the Earth.

i have a word for you still:

you are going to overwater your lawn and have to mow it with the setting on high.
but it will be very green and smell good.

James 5: 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then the city will forbid the watering of the lawns and gardens and even showers and...and...and... the grass will DIE and he won't have to mow at all!! Ha!
