Wanted to open a thread. Someone mentioned this in my church last sunday, and it made me think. Can we come up with what is so different between the law and its characteristics vs the characteristics of grace. What are their purpose. What are their goals. What are their requirmemnts (if any) and what is the end result. What are their differences.

Go ahead and name any you can think of.

This is NOT a law vs grace thread as for how we get saved, Salvation is not the issue in this OP. I just want to Know what God says about both.

Examples.

1. The law says if the people the law was given to obeyed them and followed them, and did not disobey them, God promised they would live in peace. They would always have their crops. Have all their physical needs met, and be blessed,

Grace makes no such promises, Accordingn to the NT, One can live in grace and suffer persecution. Have no promise of peace (at least no physical peace is promised) Suffer severe persecution from their enemies. And not even promised they will always have plenty of food to eat.

2. The law says whoever does not obey every word is under a curse, this curse is death.

Grace says no one can obey every word. But I will remove this curse of death inspite of your guilt. (Ps 130: 3 says if God kept a record of our sins, Who could stand? Apart from Grace, no one could)

3. The law says the blood of bulls and goats are required for atonement

Grace says the blood of the lamb was offered to once and for all pay for all sin.

These are just three examples. Lets see how many we can find..
