what an odd thing to say, rachel.
everybody know God used typology in everything He taught us:)

on another topic....

rachel: seeing your signature again made me curious....
first off, why you left out the rest of the quote (as hip & cutsie as your sig is)

also, i had some things i hoped you would clear up on the Noahide Laws thread (assertions you made about facts i posted being false. could you revisit the thread here at post 269):

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/27759-noahide-laws-14.html#post591972

i want to know if you still say the Noahide Laws are HARMLESS.
there are old testament types of christ...that doesn't mean -everything- in the old testament is a type of christ... and making that incorrect assumption is where the false types and other unbiblical abuses of typology come from...

and you don't need to follow me to this thread to get my attention on a totally different topic that has -nothing- to do with this thread... you just crossed the line into creepyland...

Yes but you said this

i explained why i am not much of a fan of typology in the paragraphs following that... i have just seen far too many false types and scriptures twisted or added to in an effort to make them fit a typological framework...

as one example...i once saw a preacher on tv who specialized in typology...the sermon i saw was about how an ancient roman soldier's weapons had typological meanings...though those weapons aren't even described in the bible at all!

then as another example...i sometimes get into debates about whether or not God killed an animal to make clothes for adam and eve...though the bible does -not- actually say that and it is equally possible that God made clothes for them out of nothing just like when he created the world... usually it boils down to the person arguing that God -had- to have killed an animal because it was a type of jesus' blood sacrifice...

but speculation does not become fact just because the speculated event would 'make sense' as a type...
