You're making me laugh! I can't imagine someone like yourself spending so much time on a Christian forum berating and demeaning a God that you purport not to believe in. It's both pathetic and pathological really. Perhaps you need to spend more time in your garden, just you and your thoughts. The fact of the matter is you're here on this forum because you're looking for something that you don't currently have. You want answers but you don't know where to get them. But instead of just asking questions, you carry on like an impetuous child and lash out at the people who could answer your questions. You're a real class act pal.
Thankyou for your kind words. I think "pathetic and pathological" are some new insults I can add to my repertoire of labels from some of the people on here.

Yes, you are right. I will spend more time in my garden. In fact I love gardens ( I even work in a garden).....so beautiful and peaceful. Places where I can reflect and contemplate life. A place where the flowers and trees, the singing birds, buzzing bees and wonderful seasons speak to my soul in a way that no brow beating "believer" ever could.

1. God writes books. Unfortunately it is not always that clear. Hence, the arguments, even amongst believers.
2. God loves everyone; but if you worship the wrong God he will command your execution and favours certain ethnic groups and people.
3.God wants us to fear him, but love him at the same time. And if we don't love him, we are condemned.
4. The right beliefs and thoughts in our heads are more important than being kind; beliefs will save you, kindness won't.
5. The "Good news" of the gospel is not that good. Since most are condemned.
6. Everyone I love and care for who has the wrong beliefs and has died is going to burn and suffer for eternity. God will helpfully wipe my memory of them.
7. If anyone has a different major opinion within Christianity it is perfectly acceptable to shun them.
8. Deviation from what is perceived to be the "truth" will not be tolerated.
9. No one can do anything good, or be good before God without the correct beliefs. Since people are basically depraved, sinful and anything they do is "dirty rags".
10. Since Christians are saved, have the holy spirit and are God's beloved children and now have the source of all goodness and love within them, then they are living the most beautiful, loving and blessed lives that can be imagined. They are a real beacon of goodness in the world in a way that non-believers are not........or are they??
how dare you think differently dibbly?
how dare you challenge peoples' assumptions?
you must be working for Satan? How much commission is he paying you?
And not even one quote from the Bible! There! you must be a devil worshipper!

Well, as long as you pay hommage to the one who created the flowers, trees, singing birds, buzzing bees and wonderful seasons, ...random big bang, you're joking right (you just cited the symbiosis, harmony and architecture yourself)?
You take a lot for granted Dibby53!

What other religions have you researched and how do you think they differ based on the thread you have started?
Hi Bill
I have some knowledge of other religions, but not as much as Christianity. I have recently read a brilliant book called " God against the gods" which charts the rise of monotheism from its first attempt in ancient Egypt ( with the cult of Amun, the solar God) through to Judaism and the eventual replacement of Christianity in the Roman Empire under Constantine and his successors. I find much tolerance in the Greek and Roman worlds under polytheism. The monotheistic religions ( Judaism, Christianity and Islam) have a tendency to intolerance and dogmatism that is lacking in polytheistic religions.

In my opinion it is the polytheistic world of Greece and Athens that is the root of western civilisation. Christianity has been grafted on top. Everything valuable we have comes, in the beginning, from that world of the gods and goddesses.

People show us who they are by how they treat us. And we show people who we are in Christ by how we treat them.
It's a simple truth.
God be with you. [hugs you]
I need to treat people better. Even the ones that don't particularly like my presence here.

Actually, I try not to take things for granted. Being human I sometimes do. Thankfully I don't have you in my garden demanding I "pay hommage"; I can appreciate and enjoy and give thanks to the divine in my own way.

Your post made me smile. If I,m working for the devil then so are you! You belong to the "wrong" church!:devilish:
The whole thing gets so rediculous when people feel they have God all worked out and in their pockets. A Universe of a billion billion galaxies and we just happen to have the whole truth!

Morefaithrequired of course wasn't serious when they charged you with being a Devil worshiper. I got a clue to their sense of humor not long ago. I like it.

I wouldn't make a very good devil worshipper anyway. I mean, going out at midnight on a full moon to perform rituals?! I,m in my pyjamas by 7pm ready for a cup of tea and an episode from my favourite box sets.

Same here.
I'd look really silly in my footy pajamas setting up a bonfire to dance around and worship Satan hoping he'll grant me a boon.
There I'd be, dancing, getting into the mood, forgetting the polyester thread count in the jammies is higher than the cotton. Next thing I'd know I'd look like a lit matchstick that really regretted I didn't think to fill the kiddie pool to add the element of water to the whole ritual.

The irony of you speaking of a garden, lol. You spoke of God as putting an ultimatum before mankind, to either love Him or burn. Could I maybe bring you to a garden, and retell history?

The Garden of Eden. Where God placed Adam and Eve. They due to the enemy of your soul, satan, ended up being deceived and sinning against a holy and righteous God (by eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, when told not to). Now, did God immediately obliterate them? No... He had mercy, by directing them outside of the Garden of Eden where the Tree of Life was, so that they wouldn’t be eternally separated from God. He put forth a plan to save mankind, who being dead in sin, are condemned.

Where you might think God is being a tyrant, choose me or burn, what in fact happened was that we turned from God and are in need of saving. Gods proposition of salvation is not an ultimatum born of tyranny but love. He, Jesus, came to save the world, not condemn it. They are already condemned, in need of saving because of their own choices.

Another interesting thing about you and your garden is that garden speaks to you that God is. He exists. The intricacies of the plants, the way they bloom, the colors, and even the butterflies 🦋. Life. From whence does it come? You maybe have heard of intelligent design, but no more than when you see a watch do you understand there is a watch maker than when you see the complexity of life. The codes, the functions, and innate abilities of creatures. Where does this information come from? The Creator.

If that garden indeed does speak to your soul, you better believe it is pointing to God, your Creator, and the one who loves you eternally and wishes to give you peace.

God planted the forbidden tree in the garden before He gazed upon all of His creation and declared it was good.

Dibby53, look around you, do you really believe that the universe and all it contains, these conversations, relationships and emotions are just by random chance? At least admit that clearly there is a devil. Nothing can explain the atrocities, self-annihilating decadence and debauchery, bigotries and wickedness committed by man, by any sense of rational, these acts are entirely irrational and again, self-destructive. For even the simplest of beasts don't indiscriminately destroy themselves, or act in such a ludicrous and senseless manner in the way that man does (spiritual being). Where does this depravity and insanity come from, not from stardust and protoplasm. Clearly there is a spiritual warfare at hand, and thus there is a spirit in man that can completely override any natural sensibilities that one would expect from a creature simply following the laws of nature.
Man is way too complex to be understood from a secular standpoint, he defies all the laws that nature would dictate and demand, whether it be for good, or for bad. He is the only creature created in the image of God, that came to know, and that only can comprehend, both good and evil.
That should be apparent enough.
...you do take a lot for granted!

1. God writes books. Unfortunately it is not always that clear. Hence, the arguments, even amongst believers.
It is only clear if the Holy Spirit has made one understand,, And yes there are a lot of debates.. I am sure if there where no disagreements then this forum and any other Christian forum would die..

2. God loves everyone; but if you worship the wrong God he will command your execution and favours certain ethnic groups and people.
You did not learn this for me.. thanks be to God.. God does not favour certain ethnic groups and condemnation comes as a result of people rejecting the will of the One and only True God .. The God of Abraham..

3.God wants us to fear him, but love him at the same time. And if we don't love him, we are condemned.
Yes God wants those who do not know Him or are in rebellion against His will to fear Him.. Fearing God motivates one to try and understand what one fears and to establish good relations with who one fears.. Once a person believes the will of God and accepts His Way of salvation then God wants the fear to be cast away / overcome by the Love we have for His truth and what He went through to redeem us from the Eternal Lake of Fire..

4. The right beliefs and thoughts in our heads are more important than being kind; beliefs will save you, kindness won't.
Yes our beliefs ( and in what we trust) are what is important when it comes to us being saved.. Because every act of kindness we may do does not cancel out the acts of evil we have done in our lives.. The religious delusion that we can earn our salvation by doing more good deeds then bad is one of the most toxic eternal death causing doctrines ever invented..

5. The "Good news" of the gospel is not that good. Since most are condemned.
The Good News of the Gospel is good because even the worst of sinners can be saved and it is a loving gift from God.. All they need do is accept the will of God as truth and trust that the gift of His Atonement secures their eternal life with God.. :) How awesome is the Way of salvation.. How wonderful is the loving forgiveness of God..

6. Everyone I love and care for who has the wrong beliefs and has died is going to burn and suffer for eternity. God will helpfully wipe my memory of them.
Anyone who rejects the Gift of salvation of God will burn and suffer for eternity.. And however God does it we shall not be traumatized by this when it happens..

7. If anyone has a different major opinion within Christianity it is perfectly acceptable to shun them.
Depends on the situation.. If a person is still open to discussion over the core doctrine topic then it would be wrong to shun them.. But if the person is set in their doctrines of demons and is promoting those around babes in Christ they should be shunned and banned from the Christian community ,, like this forum..

8. Deviation from what is perceived to be the "truth" will not be tolerated.
Christians tolerate a world packed with people deviating from the Truth.. We are extremely tolerant..
NOTE: Tolerance is NOT Acceptance..

9. No one can do anything good, or be good before God without the correct beliefs. Since people are basically depraved, sinful and anything they do is "dirty rags".
When it comes to attaining Salvation that's correct.. Salvation is a gift from God by His grace through the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ.. But good works and our love for others does have a bearing on our eternity with Jesus.. there will be those considered great in the Kingdom of Heaven and those considered least.. Some will have greater honor..

10. Since Christians are saved, have the holy spirit and are God's beloved children and now have the source of all goodness and love within them, then they are living the most beautiful, loving and blessed lives that can be imagined.
Nope..

If one is in alignment with the Gospel of Jesus they will suffer tribulation from the worldly. since most of the people in this world are worldly then true Christians will experience being hated and will have all kinds of false allegations cast against them.. Even in Christian forums when they are attacked by false christians.. But that's alright because Jesus said..

Matthew 5: KJV
11"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. {12} Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." :)

They are a real beacon of goodness in the world in a way that non-believers are not........or are they??
They are still human beings like other non-believers.. They have not been perfected yet.. But the difference is they are Forgiven while those who reject the loving Gospel remain unforgiven..

So it seems you have not learned much in your time here on this forum..

And there in lies the problem. "My own way." " The Divine", being Divine logically gave the Divine way of doing it, and don't find the way of the selfish to be very acceptable.

God wants us to fear him, but love him at the same time. And if we don't love him, we are condemned.
A little knowlege is dangerous, better said, the fruit of the tree of knowlege of good and evil is dangerous. If we dont have fear admiration of God. We live in fear of faling. But "Perfect Love delivers us from all fear." We have perfect Love, being joined to the Lord. "He that is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him." "All maner of sin will be forgiven to man, but rejecting the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven... Are you aware that this is what you wrote in diferent words. The diferance: everything wrong we did is forgiven as long as we learn to Love by the Holy Spirit teaching us. As its not like something we learn in understanding but in fellowship of the suferings of Christ. Your already there. We all sufer and we all dont like to sufer. We all have this in comon. For God and those who grow up in Him its diferent. "Bear one anothers burden and fulfil the Law of Christ." To be shure that you know what i mean by the Law of Christ. "A new comandment I give to you, that you Love one another just as I have Loved you; that you also Love one another." These are no longer afraid of sufering and death, as they taste and see that the Lord is good, having a glimpse of Resurrection by the Holy Spirit. Those who dont continue in godly sorrow will fall into worldly sorrow: loving this present evil world. Self pity is a depresion that leads to death. This death refers to seperation from God. "Without Love I am nothing." Whoever cals on Jesus will not be turned away. Everyone will have this opportunity. Some already have received the Holy Spirit who is now poured out on all flesh and dont know about Jesus who had the whole world in His hand.

I think that the Genesis creation story is myth ( not in a derogatory sense, but a story with deep truth) not a science paper.
I am not sure why "I better believe it is pointing to God"? That sounds kind of ominous.

I have learned alot. It's just that if Christianity is like some people say it is then I am fine without it. You say above that "those who reject God's gift of salvation will burn for eternity" . What sort of "gift"is that??! That is no better than a highwayman who says "Your money or your life!".
