What does Christians Being Separate From The World mean to you?

Walking as two in agreement to one. Mankind stumbles went trying a three legged walk.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Judas was chosen to be a diciple .
Election is to service, calling and purpose, not to salvation. (Isa. 42:1; Acts 9:15; Rom. 11:28)

Why not both ? Called to salvation for service? How can we tell the difference? By the outcome?

What kind of a fast? Water only? liquids only?
I eat and drink during fasting. Just no meat, no junk food or anything else unhealthy. It’s a sober lifestyle disconnecting from the world and your fleshly desires. So no internet, no television, no love making, even specific thoughts are cancelled out.
I have often tried to keep that going, but my flesh is very weak.

Imho God only replies to that we broadcast. We can’t pray for health while smoking cigarettes for instance. Action, thought and words needs to be fully synchroniced to God while fasting. But that’s how I do it.

Genuine question. Before I was a Christian I was into the new age movement and part of that practice was fasting / abstaining..Giving up certain things to try to tap into the certain " energy levels " ect . Then after I had to try understand the difference between what I practiced and some of the things that are practiced by some Christians. What's your thoughts on what the difference is ? like what we see in Hinduism and such religions we're such practices are implemented. Even Islam .

When you become aware of the oppression, beyond its broad scope, down to the petty nature of the disdain, having read your bible like a good child, you have been taught sin=punishment, so what have i done to offend? Trying to edit your behavior and listening to the world go on about self improvement, strong mind, strong body, really big (heart), then when you see people elevated around you who couldn't care less about the (maximum effort), when the oppression moves from without to within and you no longer associate sin with punishment, but the possibility of success with punishment, know you are still under the deception which killed christ and demands you die whether you are an evildoer, or christ himself.

invocation: If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, shall you go unpunished? God gives a man weath, possessions/ but a stranger enjoys them instead. All mans effort/ come from envy of his brother.

OK - I wondered when you said three months! What you said you do during your fast is certainly commendable. But if you want a whole new level of fasting try water only for 40 days! That will get you into a deep spiritual relationship with God like nothing else I know!

Ha let me write this from the heart. I am not for Hinduism and anything surrounding the new age or occult. I was raised with the occult by spoon as baby and saw the long term effect of it. I used to fast too while I channeled through occult methods in the past, but that was because I used stuff that would be highly toxic if I did not fast on it. You understand what I’m saying here? Because that’s the lightbulb behind my story.
I opened some doors I should better not and became someone I was not. I could walk with broken legs and bended my back backwards to maintain “business as usual” but cracked, lost it all, got found and got saved by the one and only God that came through with his Son Jesus Christ. “Lay it all on me” and I was saved. It was of demonic nature imho and I am quite sure when something is there or when it’s not. Something was there.

So to answer your question: When we fast to get close to God we detox our body and soul to get closer to Him again. We feed on his Word. We obey.
When fasting on occult practices that is to be able to antenna your body better, also other “stuff” is commonly used which makes some regular food poisonous. An occult one fasts to gain wisdom or to direct energy to get specific things done, principalities.

So doing it for God is different then doing it for yourself. God strictly forbids us to alter our state of mind and to practice the occult. So that’s the difference. Huge difference and a life saving one for all those new agers being deceived into demonic practices.

I'm divided between congratulating you on finding peace away from substances and asking you which substances god said you could use and which you could not, and where does the bible speak against drugs? You would think if we are warned of so many things, mold, transmittable disease, violent storms when the sky is red in the morning, and so many people are destroyed by drugs, they might be mentioned in there, somewhere.... I have heard the allusions of the clean temple and not everything is useful though permissible, though certainly illegal.... Then there's the ol' I give you every plant on the earth for food, and Nothing a man takes into his body makes him unclean. Or do you think the whole book is a drug fueled rhetoric? Mine! The earth and everything in it are mine!

Thank you for sharing from the heart. What you decide between you and God I say amen . your not saying everyone should do this or else so its all good . I would want to see more scriptures on this topic in the church episties , which we don't find other than to be warned of doing practices like asceticism. Col 2.20 . Col 2.16 . Rom 14

To me, it has to do with my awareness of the world and my place in it.

I am created by God, I belong to Him. My world is defined by scripture. It is like the path scripture tells us about--it is a straight road with definite boundaries. TV is not a part of my life nor movies. I don't put things in my mind that isn't within the boundaries the Lord sets including the "poor me" and "ain't it awful" thoughts the Lord helped me overcome. I monitor my thoughts, and choose books that reflect the Lord. When I fall down and fail, the Lord is there to pick me up. My goal is to build and encourage through the Lord.

The joy the Lord sends is not the boisterous ha ha kind, but a deep joy that becomes a part of everyday living.

Don’t congratulate me, I am not proud of it and did horrible things in life I can only hope God forgives me. I eventually denied the experience and sank into alcohol which forced me to political ideologies. When the mass migration started in Europe in 2015, I derailed really bad and my saviour was Tommy Robinson to paint a picture. I closed all channels with the occult and started drinking alcohol to not feel anything anymore. But I felt hate and hate alone. My girlfriend was about to leave me and tried talking sense into me (she’s a lefty lol). I was always a creationist, but I did not obey God and went my own way after stopping my spiritual growth. So as she was about to leave me and all people around me fleed the scene, I opened to Jesus and Jesus really touched me because I felt it and I felt (did not hear) Him say; “lay it all on me”. So I did. Going to Bible study was the best therapy I went through. It all worked instantly but the fight is always on.

Drugs today are the pharmakia of the past, so God does not want us to do any of those things but feed on His Word and obey.

The Bible is very clear not to use it because we must remain sober. The Bible seems to be ok with alcohol but in moderation. Also keep in mind that people back then needed to drink wine because a lot of water was polluted and could make you sick. I think todays sacrament would be water. Not sure why churches made wine into a sacrament.

God wants us to present our bodies as Holy Temples to Him. Romans 12

I don’t know the scriptures out of my head. But scorcery is strictly forbidden. What people are doing during rituals of occult nature is engaging it in their own will on evil strenght. Not His will be done but their will be done. As we truly believe in God we get on our knees and ask God for His will to be done. And when we start going to church, open up to other preachers international and start listening to what God is throwing at us, we might get confused or even mad. Because people having been “shaped” into the occult like to shape things to their will. They are also always constantly spiritually stimulated by evil forces seducing them deeper and deeper in madness. It all starts magical and you really think it’s going to get you somewhere, but it was hell when I received all I asked for in one night and got it all confirmed the following day. The following day scared me out of those occult practices and I got haunted by synchronicity for over a year. When the snake bites you... If people that are down to this earth would have not given me confirmation I would have thought I was losing my mind. But there really was something and harrassing me.

I know for fact people don’t need to engage anything in own strength on supernatural level. It’s stronger then any man or woman I ever met in life. Even those “educated masters” crack down over the long period of time and get all these health issues.

Election / chosen to be saved is Augustines philosophy that we now have still in Systematic theology. Chiefly reformed theology .
There are 2 callings: Gospel and vocational, not inward or outward or effectual or ineffectual, etc… (2 Thess. 2:14; Eph. 4:1; Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 5:20)

As many as God our unseen father has given power to both will and do His good pleasure will come. No man of his own volition could. Nothing to draw them with. They remain faithless powerless. No faith not little.

Many are called but few are chosen to come as elected by God . There are those that are moved to bring the gospel which can drive out demons as lying spirts But those who think that being moved to bring the word of another, the gospel, and that work makes a person born again by some work they have did. No way. .

The person in the parable of Mathew 7 was not accused of not performing the work .But that he accredited it to his own person . Jesus called him a worker of iniquity as in he never knew him as one elected to salvation..

Mathew 7 :22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Claiming a person has some part in salvation makes God out to be a lair. He is not served by human hands in any way shape or form. He who is of one mind and always does whatsoever His soul desires, moving men and beast. We can plant the seed and water. Only he can bring born again life where none existed.

We have no part in Salvation , any more than a drowning man lost miles away ,deep at sea , shouting for help and reaching his arm up to be grabbed . The man is grabbed out of sea and placed safely ashore ( by a rescue boat ) . Only a fool would say " i saved my self "
