Does God control the world or is it more than that?

Matthew 10
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

just because God is in control does not mean we understand everything that happens to us or His reasoning.

I believe everything happens for a reason, we just might be informed what that reason is.

They are planned events. No, not by you. But nothing goes by that the Father doesn't plan. Nothing absolutely nothing. God plans into every direction. Into every possible scenario. If He didn't, we'd have big problems with Hurricanes or the like. But even where the dust settles after a Hurricane up to the exact location of each piece of sand is calculated. God doesn't expect us to do that. It is not our job. We just have to realise that there is nothing that just happened. And if something happens in the same way or is related, then we must realise that it is God that planned it that way. And even though we might not understand it at that very point in our lives. There is a very good reason for it.

Chance, random, possibility, probability, potentiality... these are self-reference terms. They have no bearing on reality. As these things in reality, do not exist. For God is sovereign over all.

if you think about something that you call a coincidence, what are you doing? its when the rational mind observes something that it cannot rationally explain. the rational brain doesn't like not being able to explain something. so it will slap a label on what it observes to classify it. oh that? its just a coincidence.. oh that its deja vu. once the rational part of the brain has it neatly classified it is then free to disregard what it observed. no need to think about it further, these odd things happen. move along move along nothing to see here. the last thing the rational mind wants to have happen is to allow any sort of implication that it doesn't know exactly whats going on, or that it is not fully in control of the situation.

something else is trying to get your attention and the rational brain doesn't want you involved with it. you might have to really look at your life and ask your rational brain questions. questions it doesn't want to answer, or you might come to understand that the rational brain isn't really in charge. the rational brain is the part of you that tries to organize and justify the things you do. it wants you to rely on it. you have been playing a game of pretend with your rational brain where you feel you are not in control of it. the rational mind is the mind of someone who is asleep. the rational mind does not want you to wake up.

when you take on the mind of Christ you take control of the rational brain. it is when your emotions take over the rational functions of the brain and apply it to spiritual thinking instead of physical thinking. the rational mind rages at you for trying to take control. the rational mind does not want to surrender to unconditional love. it wants reasons and proof, not feelings and faith. it wants understanding and not acceptance. the rational mind demands that conditions be made for it to accept something. to me the rational mind is the sinful mind and it is what must be put to the death. so that the spiritual mind can assume control of the brain and change your entire motivation and understanding of the world we live in. there are no coincidences, it is the rational mind that is chaotic.

all things serve God, when you notice it, don't let it slip by with a trivial excuse that it was just a coincidence.

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;

World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

Coicindences are not a sign of God. There are signs of God all around us, but this, I believe, isn't one of them!

You cannot attribute evey little piece of luck or happenstance to God. For example, there's no evidence whatsoever that atheists / Muslims etc. have more or less luck than Christians.

Ever been humming a tune in your head, and then turned on the radio and THEY'RE PLAYING THE SAME TUNE?

Ever been thinking of someone, and then the phone rings, AND IT'S THE SAME PERSON YOU'VE JUST BEEN THINKING OF?

Isn't that amazing!!!???

No, actually, it's just luck. Happens to us all, Christian and God-less.

God is in control of everything, but that doesn't mean that everything happens for a human-centric reason. Typically, coincidences are just that: coincidences. Just because it is a true coincidence doesn't mean God wasn't in control of it. All kinds of things happen continually that have no special significance, yet God is still in control of all of them.

That said, it doesn't mean God can't cause coincidences or other occurences to happen for particular, human-centric reasons. In any particular case when He wants to, He can. But most coincidences are of a more mundane nature.

Oh it's just that I keep winning this one game repeatedly even though the chances of winning are like 2%. It's kind of weird lol. I've had other things happen that were alot more significant and strange though. I was just wondering.

Idk I guess there's alot of things that seem....strange. Like one time I was listening to these two songs called Secrets and Whatever It Takes, and some of the lines in the songs kind of reminded me of some things that I needed to get right with God. I forgot about it and didn't do what I told God I would. Anyways that night I was at walmart and those two songs played. Idk it was just kind of weird.

I guess what I'm really wondering is whether it's bad to pay attention to "coincidences."

I've had lots of things like that happen. I pay attention to them because I think God is trying to get my attention. One thing that always happened to me for years and years and has bothered me was whenever I left a store and got in my car, someone in a car next to me was always leaving at the same time. It was sooo wierd. It took me awhile to notice it and it didn't matter if I parked close or far. It still happens to me but now its not all the time.

11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them

think of a theater stage.everyone is backstage, every now and then someone notices a coincidence. most think nothing of it. the crowd can see through the curtain, the performers cannot. at any moment the curtain can go up and they will be in front of the audience. will they be prepared for the spot light?
we are all connected by the Holy Spirit. anytime you notice the Spirit at work, you think its a coincidence. when you think, hey that's odd that this has happened more than once. you shouldn't consider it a coincidence. if you keep getting struck by lighting, maybe there is a bit more to why that is.

to refer to anything as luck is but another name for coincidence. its a way of taking something out of the ordinary and making it something ordinary. has anyone heard of the story of Moses? how did the pharaoh react to the lucky coincidences sent by God? how did people respond to the coincidences around Jesus? if you don't take notice of the little miracles your seeing, how will you notice the bigger miracles. once you do notice, you will be amazed at how big it all is. a collective consciousness working in all of humanity, called The Holy Spirit.

if you think God cannot coincide your thoughts to an incoming phone call or to a song that's playing next on the radio, how can you believe in any of the miracles of the bible that are far greater examples. what is the bible but a book about how God, his Son and the Holy Spirit, are working with all of humanity.
not every now and then, not from time to time, but every second of every minute of everyday in everyone and everything around us. its a shame more people don't accept that they can experience the bible. i guess that kind of thinking isn't rational to most people. you are missing out on seeing the love of God at work in humanity. all of heaven and all of earth sing with resounding joy to the glory of God. you are too, whether you think its a coincidence or not.
no wonder a song your humming is being played on the radio, or thinking about someone when they call you.

muse- song, starlight, imagine my shock as a child when i learned jim henson was speaking and not kermit the frog. imagine my shock as an adult when i heard the holy spirit speaking through jim henson. they don't even have to be Christians. now think on this and listen to the song. open your heart to me, by madonna. look at how hard the Spirit is trying to get us to listen. it is the very breath of humanity and the soul of love and creation of art. then re read mark 4 vs 11-13. its been there all along your whole life. the seeds are all right there in your personal collection from the garden.

or its just a coincidence?....

While God is in control He is not going to break His own Law (10 commandments) you need to study God's word and find out what is will of God for your life.

Ever prayed for someone with a lethal illness who was not expected to live more than a few weeks and they started to get better and are continuing to get better over the course of years and still live today? Coincidence.

I have problems with this verse cause i have a chopper landing field on my head. Ho dare you. :D

Sorry, this is a gullible interpretation. As long we are part of this world the prince of this world is our enemy.
This world our bodies are dust sometimes. We are here to get to the real world which is heavenly Jerusalem which will never get corrupted like earthly jerusalem.Do not try to whitewash this place which will be replaced with the REAL WORLD. There is no mother Mother Gaia there is just the One Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit, and his unbelievable many eternal different tenements.

My husband died when I was 55. My son is an alcoholic. I asked that those things wouldn't happen, they did. I trust the Lord with them, don't know why it should be this way. But something very strange happened to me two months ago.

I am very, very elderly, and have a very, very limited income. I live in an old manufactured home that had a kitchen very difficult to make work. I got a windfull of $2,000. I have a daughter who will try anything. She tore out my kitchen, did careful shopping, and the $2,000 bought a new kitchen, light fixtures, and floors thoughout my home. There were garage sales, DailyDeals on the computer, Habitat for Humanity, sales. The cabinets are oak I finished myself, the faucet is Kohler, sink stainless, half the counters are granite. If we needed something, it turned up, even someone strong to carry things. All this for $2,000 just cannot be coincidence. For some reason that only our creator knows, it worked with His plans for me to have a kitchen. God was telling me that yes, God is working even to give worldly pleasure like a new kitchen. We can trust him with everything.
