“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:53-56‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Many disciples abandon Jesus when he said this to them because they didn’t understand it they took it as earthly and natural word as cannibalism so they left off from following him later those who stick around he offered meaning to what he’s said

“And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

this is the foundation of the epistles revelations so paul then later expounds and explains the meaning and significance of this for us and the real tangible impact it can have on a persons life

“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:23-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we were to accept what the scripture says about communion , what then is communions significance ? Is it a ritual ? Is it an ordinance ? Or is it a work of faith that we do because we believe what is taught about communion? We believe the word about communion ?

it seems as if it’s absolutely important and actually can affect lives in many ways. But if we hear about it from scripture and then explain it away or make it into something it’s not , it can’t benefit us as the scripture has concluded but can actually cause serious issues in our lives and lead to damnation and condemnation

Just some scripture to consider regarding what the Bible says communion is and is for. If you have any other scripture that will add to these or offer more understanding either way please feel free to leave those and your thoughts

this is just to consider what the Bible says it isn’t to condemn Or argue to teach or rebuke ect it’s just a great value when we accept what’s really there as it is so we can then Begin to believe it as it is

if we see by faith built on what God says and not look at what he says as if it’s worldly ritual without meaning what he said it’s going to benefit us in many many ways

God bless consider the importance and significance of what the Bible says about the communion with the body and blood of the lord

just a couple more for anyone interested in communion and what Paul’s saying there

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:6-13, 15-17‬

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:41-47‬ ‭

in the early days no one was arguing about doctrine or with the apostles about these elements of faith , they were learning and believing it and following after what they learned doing and applying it to life believing it was all true

Personally, I don't think that John‬ ‭6:53-56 is referring to Communion/Lord's Supper... it's a Spiritual axiom.

yeah we all have our own thinking and how we read what’s there. I sort of think it’s absolutely the only form of eating his flesh and drinking his blood established in the Bible but again , that’s just what’s there in my view.

And the Bible doesn’t just randomly teach things it’s always built upon what Jesus said in the gospel and then expounded upon by the apostles like baptism same principle the gospel establishes baptism for remission of sins and then the apostles explaining nots significance later

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭

“in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but then there’s always those who say “ he isn’t talking about the baptism established in the gospel “

In my view we do that because we haven’t ever heard what’s really there before and it doesn’t make sense as to what we’ve been told but if we let the scriptire say what it says it leads us to understanding

the apostles were doing this

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:12-13‬ ‭

thier job was to expound upon the gospel and what’s established in it like communion or baptism

if you notice every subject is like that the gospel is explained further by the epistles

but I have no issue with you not thinking it’s about communion

The question is, how is this the Work of Christ? What is Jesus referring to when He says these things? To Eat and Drink of Christ is to lift our hearts to Him for His Spiritual Circumcision. And in by doing so, this is what is meant by Sharing in the Divine Nature of Christ . . . "true Food," meaning that by eating His Flesh, we will live forever, for His Spiritual Flesh (the Divine Nature) destroys our flesh (the Sinful Nature) and in by doing so, we will live forever. - Those who eat of Christ's Flesh, who Trust their lives in Him, they share in the Divine Nature of Christ, and at the moment that this happens, Christ will remain in them and they will remain in Christ … the "deal" has been completed. None will be lost; all will remain in Christ.
