I suspect you didn't much appreciate them... or me.
I feel life is like the Open University that gives us the opportunity to learn, and over over the last 20 years some of scriptures mysteries have been resolved, which has made my faith stronger. :)

Hopefully, you are on the same journey.

You will no doubt have encountered people asking if Christians have fairies living at the bottom of their garden. I understand where they are coming from. It is such a shame the early translators assumed yome meant 24 hours and not an unknown period of time, or is it our fault for not realising that words change meaning even within a generation, never mind hundreds of years?
Actually they got it right...what a shame is those who want the bible to adopt to science...it is clear exo 20:11 God created the heaven and earth in six days (yom) literal 24 hrs.
There are lots of yom in the bible show ne where it is interpreted as forever?

You believe that a bunch of atheistic circular-reasoning hypothesists know how old the fossils are? Really?
Even scientist agree that carbon dating is best only for age less than 10,000 years.
2011 telegraph reported descrepancies in carbon dating
2018 cornwall university scientist say that carbon dating is not accurate...
Go look it up

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exo 20:11 KJV)

Are you saying the sabbath day is not forever?

Let us be right about this, yome is a homonym meaning a period of time appropriate to context.

More or less 6000 years
That is so sad. Worse still it makes the Jewish religion look silly, hence the remark about fairies at the bottom of the garden.

Deuteronomy 19:9, "to walk ever (yom) in his ways."

Psalm 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." (yom)

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time yom to come for ever and ever:
(Isa 30:8 KJV)

Appropriate to the context. Vs 9, six days shall thy do labour....
7th day sabbath....
Not talking of forever...sabbath is just 1 day....very clear...

In all your verses it is not talking of day (24 hrs)...

Deut 19:9... to walk (24 hrs only) not applicable
To walk (a lifetime) possible he can walk as long as he lives.
Psalms 23:6 forever here is orek not yom.
Isa 30:8 time to come....not forever.
You just cannot apply something that is not applicable....
Example..
Use the scroll from the mouse...
U cannot apply scroll as (in scroll of manuscript)...from the mouse ( literal mice)...

I wonder if those who believe in a 'young' earth may consider factual evidence of a much older earth, to be outside of God or rather what we think we understand from the intro in Genesis?

I don't believe this is a salvic issue, but as a person of faith and reason, I cannot accept that the earth is only 6000 years old and Abraham rode a dinosaur to work (humor)
Agreed. Especially when technically we are still in the 7th day as explained in Genesis 2 and Hebrews. And that is considerably a long day compared to 24 hours or 12 hours.

The ability to tell time didn't even come into creation until day four.

We still get molten magma in volcanoes. After thousands of years, it still hasn't cooled down.

Have you any idea how long it takes for coal to form? It is far longer than your perceived age of the earth of 6000 years.

Well what i know is, the believers are changed in a blink of an eye.all believers....imagine what God can do in 24 hours...can he not form coal...well he formed earth from water...on day 3.
So the magma cooled down..
Not caused by water?

God created time on the first day. He however set the sun and moon on the fourth day...is it not possible that he syncronized it.???
The same measure ment were used...evening and morning...and we are not on the 7th...God rested and was refreshed...he was not refreshed when he destroyed the earth with flood.

Give it up. There were other people long before Adam. The Bible is only about Israel, THEIR world. The earth is billions of years old, it took millions of years for water to gouge out the Grand Canyon and it takes billions of years for light to reach us from other planets, the stars. Be told.

Plot your beginning in relatiom to first day...i challenge you...get a pice of paper and plot your beginning in relation to first...is it outside the first day or outside...and consider thw following verses.
1. Gen 2:1
2.Exo 20:11
3. Mark 10:6
4. 1 cor 15:45
5. By the way when ur first flood was divided in day 2...why there is no dry land...it should appear aint it?
And 6...why the need to create fish in day 5? Surely they didnt drowned in the first flood?
And finally ur theory. Promotes death comes before sin...so Christ did not save us from sin...this is a false gospel.
