I won't mention names but several claim no need to be forgiven if you've repented once because futures sins from now on are covered.
I don't what the Hebrew means for 'atone', but it has implication of correcting and remitting sin.

You misunderstood his position. He wasn't saying he didn't need to confess, but that because he had already repented...turned from his sin and agreed with God that it was sin...that confession was sufficient, and didn't need to continually repent.

It's why they were required a sin offering for every sin. That still means every sin requires forgiveness. But we do it by asking, not performing now.

We were not talking repentance but continual sin.

To whose position are you referring?

One example was in the Charles Stanley thread where claims being made were if you do not ask forgiveness of sins you just lose gifts and rewards from God.

Still applies.
And I realize there are zealots who would say we can continue in sin and still be saved. These people are not saved to begin with or will be the recipients of the chastening hand of God.

So you are saying some of the Reformed on this Forum are not really saved even though they bash others for not being Reformed?

I think that is likely the case, as a functional judgment. As a final judgment, I'm not qualified to make such a determination.

They are not wholly wrong. Once someone is saved, there is no way to take such a one from the Father's or Jesus' hand.
I believe the problem comes in when men believe someone to be saved when they are not, and when they inevitably fall away, it is assumed they lost their salvation.

Jesus gave us a daily Prayer that includes daily forgiving others and ourselves. So there's some importance to obeying that Prayer.
As one who does not believe we can lose our salvation unless we just totally reject God and everything about Him. I was only debating their stance about being able to sin endlessly without seeking forgiveness.
