hey thanks! you all make me remember why I come here. I'm embarassed now that I was so discouraged earlier but just wanted you all to know what a blessing you are to me. Thank you soooo... much. Marcia.

You shouldn't feel embarrassed at all. And by the way, If I have said anything to you that may have offended you or hurt your feeling, I apologize. It was unintentional.

As a charismatic, it seems like we're always having to defend our faith against so many "so called" christians (who seem to think they know it all just because they have read a seminary text book or visit denominational websites) who also appear to be on some sort of crusade to deface anyone who does not agree with their particular doctrine. What they don't seem to realize that their tactics are no different than some of the other "so called" Christians out there that many consider to be cults such as Mormonism and Jehova's Witness.

I battle several learning and memory disabuilities myself. I never believed that this made me less in anyway when it came to my faith and love for our Lord, untill now. I have struggled the last week or so wondering because of what I had read here about wether I met the requirements. Last night I realized all that is claimed to be important is really just stuff. That stuff will not gain me entrance to heaven. It is my faith in our Lord Jesus. All I have read here and in the bible supports this. The greatest comandment tells us this. That you love the Lord your God with all your mind your heart and soul and that you love your neighbor as yourself. On these two comandments all scripture is baced. matthew;23;37-40. I know I have read alot of scripture that supports that it is our love and faith that our Lord God requires. Wether it is wealth of belongings or actions or knowlage these things cannot be carried into heaven. It is simply our love and faith that give us entry. Some might say that it is important to know the law, if I have learned anything in my walk With Jesus it is that true Love of our Lord means wanting to obey the law and what God asks not for our sake but out of love for our Lord. God bless, pickles

you know, its funny you mention that cause I never have done a fast. The poor are in my heart and in my wallet but I could definitely do better in this regard as well. I'll let you know how the fast goes. My uncle does this weekly and has received spiritual blessing because of it. I've tried a fast and failed, but my heart was wrong, i was probably thinking too much about how my stomach would shrink and i'd lose some of my winter weight as a result. This time I'll make it just be about the Lord. Thank you.

Peace be to you sister

Its suppose to be a secret;)When ya do something for him, make it just between you two. Then he will reward you openly.

Love a friend in God

actually i think its intelligence lol... noticed my misspell after but felt it was appropriate somehow lol! (hmmm did i spell appropriate right?) Anyway, I've only ever had one incident where I felt attacked on here and that was very recent and only involved one person. I've come to realize that the posts were made on a day for him that would be a highly emotionally charged day, memorial day. I should have realized that and took that into consideration, It came to me last nite. I know I "feel" too much sometimes, but really I thank God for that. I wish I was tougher but again I thank God that I'm not. Its weird cause in reading the posts, they really they arent that bad... dont know why I over-reacted and got so upset. Wisdom seeker I already told my hubby of my plan gooood grief. Oh well, I'll keep on with it anyhow & remember that for next time... Anyway God Bless you all and thanks again for assisting me in my spiritual drama. Also, in the naming of the thread I should have stated lower knowledge not necessarily intelligence, because people are blessed in different ways when it comes to intellect and ability to process information. I'm also thankful to see that I'm not the only one who's felt this way.

This seems to be an appropriate passage to mention here.

1Cor 1:21-31 'For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord'.
