To be a christian you need to have faith in Jesus. That faith should lead to a response of obedience because of your love for God. That is what the bible teaches about being a christian.
Now the bible teaches also that there is a tri-concept to God, people have labelled that concept with the word "trinity". We don't know how that exactly works, but we are just human and the bible also clearly teaches that we cannot fathom God. So I accept that there is a 3in1 concept because God tell us there is in the bible, and I accept that I will never fully understand it (at least not before I get to heaven).
