Everytime I look in on this thread, I'm ever more grateful that, before this, I've posted only once, and it was a quasi-joke. There's nothing funny about this one.

Good grief people, don't you realize? You're shooting your own wounded! And if they weren't "wounded" when you showed up, they were after you left.

Marian dogma in the last 200 years is not from God. In fact the Catholics have walked away from following God to follow and Worship Mary as their God.

Its so sad to see people in such a hurry to toss aside God to Worship Mary.

But this is to be expected because we are entering into the End times when people will turn away fronm God to follow the Anti_Christ.

We are starting to see the End times unfold before us.

But it is exactly what you are doing sir. If you see everything wrong then why are you rejecting the Truths from God to teach the lies of Satan?

You sir are a poster boy for Satan and his works.

That's a really strong accusation since all you are going on is your opinion and your fallible interpretation of scriptures.....(i didn't think you could see my AC/DC poster!) rofl

Anyone who rejects the ex cathedra (Mary) dogmas cannot rightfully call themselves a Roman Catholic.
You could say that. Any Catholic who speaks against the Marian doctrines does not have the Catholic mindset. Same goes for the authority of the pope, the Eucharist, and the priesthood. Perhaps more, etc.

Why you are not catholic?? or if you are a Catholic do you know what the other churches disagree??
Now there you go, contradicting yourself with two questions on the #1 POST, that are 180 degrees from the Title of the THREAD.

Do you know why you are Protestant; is supposed to be the discussion. Instead, you yourself turn it into a Catholic bashing party, with your very first post.

Christ Recognized 7 types of Churches in the first three chapters of Revelation.

WHO ARE WE TO RECOGNIZE LESS. Yes, the Catholic Church certainly falls into at least one of those Seven types, but technically you can find examples of all Seven, within a single Denomination too.

That being said; "Why am I protestant?"; doesn't even phrase it properly in my opinion. It should have been phrased "Why are you in a Bible Teaching Church?"

Because I am hungry to be seriously taught the Word of GOD, ever since I was born again at the age of 29. I was raised Lutheran, and on a couple occasions attended the Catholic Church with a friend. SURPRISE there is only a nickels worth of difference between the two. I actually was shocked the first time I attended the Catholic Church in that small mid-west town.
I KNEW EVERY WORD OF THEIR ORDER OF SERVICE, because the Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod at that time were using the EXACT SAME ORDER OF SERVICE.

And the similarities did not stop there, the Priest and the Lutheran Pastor dressed alike, including the vestments. They BOTH put more emphasis on the Order of Service, instead of the TEACHING OF THE WORD, and therefore limited their sermons to 10 - 15 minutes MAX. Both Churches used teenage boys to help with the Service. The Catholic Church had Altar Boys, and the Lutheran Church had Acolytes.

CATHOLIC PRIEST VESTMENTS

LUTHERAN PASTOR'S VESTMENTS

ALTAR BOY VESTMENTS

LUTHERAN ACOLYTE VESTMENTS

The Lutherans taught that the Catholics were all wrong and bad;
and the Catholics taught that the Lutherans were all wrong and bad.

Hymns were extremely similar, slow, and draggy.

So why did I leave all that Denominational BIGOTRY behind?

BECAUSE 10 minute Sermons were a STARVATION DIET FOR MY HUNGRY BORN AGAIN SPIRIT!

Today not all protestants believe the same, but there are two things that the protestant believers all believed when the protestant movement stated. That the RCC was the anti-christ (in Revelation and Daniel 7) and that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. This should not mean that protestants hate Catholics as people but protest against the church teachings.

Well, I guess if you go around protesting a lot, you could be a protestant.

But I don't consider my self a protestant. I don't trace my spiritual heritage back to those around 1600 who protested vs the papal system, to Luther, Calvin, & the rest of that lot. I don't consider my spiritual heritage either to be baptist, but I don't believe the baptists are protestants either.

I trace my heritage to the Trail of Blood, the true Christians who always have been ever since
the promise was made that the Gates of Hell would not prevail vs the Church.
My POV is that of John Carroll and of V. Raymond Edman: The Light in Dark Ages.
Thus also I consider myself a catholic, as catholic means universal, as in Universal Church. The true Catholic
Church is not some Roman sect, not the papal cult.

Well, if you have some proof that the prots all believed that the RCC was THE anti-Christ, I would like some proof of that one. I guess one could start with Calvin as he is on BibleHub.com. He did not write a commentary on Revelation (I am told), but I think he did write on Daniel. But finding something that ALL prots believed (aside from rejecting the pope), I think would be hard to find. Perhaps you could settle for some high percent; but even then
you have no way to go back to the 1600's & poll all the prots.

They (Calvin and Luther etc.) were protestants because they rejected the traditions of man and started believing the Bible.

It is the pope/Roman Catholic church who says so, since according to papal infallibility, the pope's statements ex cathedra must be accepted by the whole of Roman Catholics, i.e., the response demanded from believers has been characterized as "assent."

The Bible should be the place that we all build our beliefs on. God has people in every religion on Earth, He winks at their ignorance and mine. The protestant reformation is important to those that want to understand the reason why they believe what they believe today. To expose error is what the protestant movement was all about not because they wanted to offend people but because they wanted to reveal the truth (Truth reveals error). This united power of the RCC persecuted anyone that taught anything different to them and especially those that said they didn't have authority to exercise God's power.
Look up Romanism and the Reformation by Henry Grattan Guiness.
The Bible was the thing that revealed the truth to the reformers and the Antichrist was made plain to them.

No, our Services are usually one hour and thirty minutes. The first half hour is comprised of Worship Songs, prayers for those who are sick and prayers for leaders of our Nation to make righteous decisions, and announcements. THEN Pastor teaches and explains the Word of GOD for an Hour. That is what I mean by a Bible Teaching Church. Here is an example of the type of Bible Teaching that my born again spirit HUNGERS for:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-FjQblLsN8

Here is an example of the type worship music we use in our Church:
