I believe it is truly the body and blood of Our Lord Jesus.

My objection has always been [since being saved] that it is made so by the anything more than the faith of the one who receives it.

Away with priesthood and clericalism whereby they seek to usurp and control the church. Away with forms and liturgies and holy rituals whereby they suppose they can change the substance of bread and wine.

Let us simply eat and drink and believe and give thanks.

Why are literal or symbolic the only questions in the subject line?

'Real' would be a often used word in this discussion also.

If that is what you believe then the NT church never had communion because drinking human blood or eating human flesh was forbidden to the Jews.

Since the consumption of blood was forbidden by God, Jesus couldn't have commanded the consumption of blood. Case closed. Can we move on to more important matters?
