I have no idea where you get your ideas of what a church congregation is.......but the examples you give to justify your position are weird to the extreme......do you actually believe this is how ALL church congregations worship? If so, you are far from an expert on congregational worship within the Church.

IF you refuse to fellowship with other believers, and refuse to worship with other believers, then I am compelled to ask: Of what value are you to His Church? If you intentionally separate yourself from His Church, of what value are you to Him?

Not being mean or anything, just don't see how anyone could believe God wants them to be "an island unto themselves."
i did not say i refuse to fellowship with other believers. i do meet with my brothers and sisters in Christ every Sundays for prayer and bible study in house, because we cant afford big buildings:) . i am a person who believes in an all loving God, believes in universal reconciliation. Now can i go to a church which teaches burning hell fire? Is there any church which does not teach a burning fire hell in our area? No. So what can i do?i cant go to a jehovah witness church just because they don't teach that. i can only have fellowship with people who are like minded.
I was not trying to justify what i said, it will be really a blessing if there is a church which teaches only the word of God. Maybe u are blessed in that way, i am not.

We all know the Lord's Prayer, right...?

Surprisingly, the context of this prayer states quite plainly that private prayer is the way to go...

Take care not to do your merciful deeds before men in order to be seen by them. But if not, you have no reward from your Father in Heaven. Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, do not trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward. But you doing merciful deeds, do not let your left know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret. And your Father seeing in secret Himself will repay you in the open. And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your room and shutting your door, pray to your Father in secret. And your Father seeing in secret will repay you in the open. But when you pray, do not be babbling vain words, as the nations; for they think that they shall be heard in their much speaking. Then do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him. So, then, you should pray this way: Our Father who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as it is in Heaven, also on the earth. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory to the ages. Amen. (Mat 6.1 - 13)

uh, well, not really..........just saying.....there are a plethora of Scriptures telling us to "join in prayer" with other believers.

But, hey, if this mows your grass, then don't let me be the stubborn weed in your yard...... :)

So, continuing in this train of thought, I wonder why Jesus taught the 4,000? Why did Jesus teach the 5,000? Why did Jesus teach all those who CONGREGATED with/around Him? Seems odd behavior to me, given that congregational worship isn't Biblical.

And, hey, what's up with 12 disciples? Didn't He know that 2 or 3 would have been just fine? Odd behavior indeed is it not? And why in the world did He teach in the Temple? Didn't He know that wasn't Biblical?

This man Jesus surely acted against Biblical teachings...........

How is it possible that people do not understand that when Jesus said "where two or three are gathered together in My Name......." He was simply saying that no matter HOW SMALL the gathering/congregation, when believers gather together/congregate IN HIS NAME, HE WILL BE THERE WITH THEM.

Odd behavior, truly odd...........

I say no, you are the church. Also the word says keep the Sabbath Holy for rest. Sabbath is not about worship although you can worship on the Sabbath but its about rest. When you rest you worship. I do not attend a church but I am involved in a group where we fellowship on Saturday. Worship every day but rest on the Sabbath. I listen to a broadcast that is live that is on shortwave in every country. Out of 196 countries (according to UN) 188 have contacted and we gather at the same time everyday in our own homes and pray 7:00am and 7:00pm Saturday at 10:00am. For some they have to get up at 2:00AM to fellowship because of time zones.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Mat 18:20 when taken in context is not about a worship meeting...

Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
Mat 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

It is about a fault between two brothers and one who refuses to repent. If the church declares him to be unrepentant and wrong and he refuses, then he is to be as a heathen and if the church has the authority to do so. If the church binds it on earth, then God binds it in heaven.

If you believe Matthew 18:20 is not about believers congregating in the Name of Jesus, well, that is certainly your right. :)

People have differing interpretations.........
