I do believe God has favorites, I can't say that I am one. I'm probably not. But I do see in the Scripture that God might have favorites.
Noah - Saved from the flood because God had favor on him.
Jacob- Romans 9:13 "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."
Just a couple of examples. God bless.

I do believe God has favorites. But not in the way we think of it. Scripture has shown a few men which God held close to his heart. Or they had a close special relationship many of us do not have with God. Although I think we could find this. But we hold ourselves back.

David was called a man after Gods own heart.

John (many believe) was called the disciple Jesus loved.

this is a fascinating subject to consider, in my opinion...while the Jewish people were identified as "chosen" and individuals such as david, as have been mentioned previously, were especially close to God's heart, we were all made in the image of our Creator...God loves humankind with a perfect love and i dont believe we can even partially wrap our human understanding around that concept...man as a creation was His "favorite" among all His many works but among them, i cannot believe he loves any of us more or less than another...

although, if you mean "favorite" as some one or group that is, for whatever reason, more pleasing to God, i think that's a completely different discussion and much more difficult to answer...the Scripture seems to indicate that to be correct, though, in my understanding...maybe as an inspiration for us all to aspire to reach that point? i dunno...

if you read the Biblical accounts, being a "favorite" of God is not what most of the world would consider "favor" Read the account of Job and ask yourself if God allowed everything you loved and cherished in this world be destroyed would you still love God or would you do as Job's wife told him: curse God and die?

To be honest, I have worked for a Jewish Organisation, there is something special about some Jewish People. I had a very strong feeling they were "set aside". As Stofer mentioned above, they are "chosen people".

Romans 11:21
(21) For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
2 Peter 2:4
(4) For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

  1. Galatians 3:28
There is [now no distinction] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27-29 (in Context) Galatians 3 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Colossians 3:11
[In this new creation all distinctions vanish.] There is no room for and there can be neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, [nor difference between nations whether alien] barbarians or Scythians [ who are the most savage of all], nor slave or free man; but Christ is all and in all [ everything and everywhere, to all men, without distinction of person].
Colossians 3:10-12 (in Context) Colossians 3 (Whole Chapter)

We are all to seek favour with God. Then we will become His favourites. :)

According to John 3:16, God loves the whole world (all people). According to, I believe, Romans, it is written, "God is no respecter of persons". Also, 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9 says God wills to save all people, not just a predestined elect few.

Hi jonathanbchristian Not sure about favorites but he Has firstfruits that could be favorites

Rv14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, [being] the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Eggsellent clarification loveschild. How are you m'dear?
i believe there are no g's at all in excellent, let alone 2 g's. no 's' either. really, if you're going to correct peoples spelling you should be able to spell the words you're using as well.
