Gos does not change as for the law can you keep it? If you could their is no need for the cross and Christ died in vain.
So, since we cannot keep it perfectly, don't even try? Just murder, commit adultery, steal, lie? 'Cause after all, no one can keep the Law perfectly.

I think the OP was asking why does He appear to change in the Bible.

A blood thirsty killer in much of the OT
Loving and non violent in the NT (Jesus)
And back to a murdering slaughterer in the book of Revelation.

And it is a very good and valid question.

In a way yes that is part of my point. I would word it differently, but that's the first part of my point.
I do have another point, but I am not going to bring that up into the discussion, because that dicussion always goes sour.
I want to refrain from sour discussion.

When God declared "I change not" what he is revealing about himself is the nature of his character or the character of his nature. The nature of God is represented in scripture as a bi-cameral. I know scripture does not use this word but the principle in revealed non-the-less. God has never given us anything by which we could formulate a picture of him as a spiritual being outside of his intrinsic attributes. What he has given us defines certain aspects of his nature, character, and function. When we talk about the nature of anything, it must be understood bi-camerally. The nature of any object or person is always made up of two parts. The first part is essence. Essence refers to those qualities that make a thing what it is. The second part is character. These are distinguishing characteristics that define it still further. You may prefer to think of these as primary and secondary attributes. The essence of God would be those qualities that make Him, God. These would be such things that define intrinsic being, for example; God is holy, eternal, omnipotent, transcendent, self-sustaining, self-existing, etc.... The extended properties of God would be those qualities that describe what kind of God he is. As God he is gentle, loving, patient, just, giving, merciful, gracious, good, pure, etc, etc.... It is in his nature that he changes not. This does not suggest that he has not at times changed his mind or his methods but, He Himself does not change.

Is God today, the same God that spoke to Abraham, Issac, Israel(Jacob), Moses, and the prophets? Or did He change somewhere along the timeline up to now?
According to the OT authors, God does not change.

However, our perception of God changed significantly since the time of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob or Moses. This is not surprising since the OT authors live in a completely different world.

It says in the Word that mortals cannot even behold the presence of God, and cannot understand Him,
because He is bigger/greater/more intricate than our minds can fathom. He is infinite, and we are finite.

Because of this, God displays parts of Himself to mankind, one piece at a time.
These examples/expressions of Himself do not contradict one another, but fit together as a complete whole,
which we will finally be able to view in full
when we have put on immortality, through the Resurection, at the Return of Christ.

Same God.

People change. I see and understand and behave differently from 4 years ago.

Could not walk when I was born, now I can run, but not as fast as when I was 20 years young.

My attitude changes.
My likes and dislikes change.
My physical body changes.
My goals change.
My knowledge changes.

God, He is Holy. Always.
God, He is eternal, Always.
God, He is God, Always.

He don't change.

That's basically it in a nutshell. I've heard some refer to Him as a blood thirsty god. The Life is in the blood, that's how He created it to be. My question would be...who are they that they should judge the Lord? Ha! The arrogance of people.

God has many different attributes. God is Love. God is a consuming Fire. God is Holy, sovereign, infinite. Who can truly know all there is to know about God in this lifetime? If He is infinite then surely the knowledge of Him must be as well. He has shown only a portion of Himself as we know Him through His Word.

God does not change. However, we may change in our understanding of Him.

Do parents change when they go from milk, to soft food, to solid food with their infants?

David wrote "I how I live the law!
It is in my meditation all the day"
Psalms 119:97 he learned to apply it in every situation in life.
V98) thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies
V105) thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path"
So David did keep the ten Commandments
Psalms 104:7
Uh, David committed adultery and murder.

So your saying its impossible not to murder someone, to steal from someone, to lie , to want another person wife or husband, to have idols and worship another God, to keep Gods Sabbath. I don't believe that we make choices in life yes it's hard but not impossible
Do you know a single, solitary soul who HAS? The Bible minces no words in saying no one has.

He judges justly, and justice can require death.
He judges favorably with those who obey the law.
And back to justice again when they break the law.

Just like the judge on the bench down at the courthouse.

it is nice, though, to discover the Judge is also your Defense Attorney. :)

GOD said I am the LORD and I change not.
The law is GOD's perfect standard and it was kept like JESUS said it would be but GOD knew that man could not keep the law perfectly and he made a way for man because of the love he had for those that will believe.

It seems like GOD changed the old testament but that is because man could not keep the old without help.
The law/GOD's perfect standard is still in effect it's just that no man except the man CHRIST JESUS was able to keep it and it was graced to men that believe in the WORD of GOD.

We have access to this Grace through faith.
