Does God hear only our prayers or is God with us so He also hears our thoughts?

Jesus used one regularly. A rough translation is "Thank you God of the Universe for basic food". That was the "giving thanks" for the meal...
God is spirit, not human, so when we listen to the God of our spirits, we ask not only for human food but food for our spirit. This would mean what comes to us through hearing and reading. We are asking that we not feed ourselves with murder mysteries and lustful romances and movies using input from the occult, but food for the holy spirit within us to use for God.
