One verse taken out of context...
Did the disciples not know anything spiritual during Christ's earthly ministry? King Agrippa knew and believed the scriptures, and yet, he had no Holy Spirit.
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
why was Paul talking about the prophets asking agrippa if he believed ?
“For
all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
Matthew 11:13 KJV
“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that
all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Then
opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them,
Thus it is written, ( this is the understanding of the scriptures of the le and prophets Jesus is giving them )
and thus
it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
Luke 24:44-48 KJV
paul was asking about the prophets because they are witnesses of the gospel he was bout to start preaching Christ to him and was going to use the prophets and law to do it like he did here
“And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom
he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.”
Acts 28:23-24 KJV
Paul constantly quotes from Moses law and the prophets in his epistles because they are about Christ and his kingdom just as much as the epistles are
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.”
Acts 3:19-24
Paul was simply arguing for Christ
from the prophets and law that are prophetic about Jesus that’s why he brought them up to Agrippa you have to find a point someone can start where they believe in order to preach the gospel to them
for example if someone believes there is no god nothing you tell them about God sending his son is going to be received if they first believe in God and that God is who he said he is like this
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
the prophets establish that God exists and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him therefore Paul eas establishing g a foundation to begin persuadin sgrippa of Christ out of the law and prophets they are the most powerful witnesses of Christ in the Bible those ot scriptures
