lol, an excavation by the U.S. military to find artifacts in a former desolated and uninhabited skeleton of the city of Babylon while temporarily occupying another country does not establish re-habitation. It's a dig site Orv not the making of a city to be inhabited in. Sorry but try and sale this rubbish somewhere else. Also the next time you create a thread you might want to speak truth instead of cherry picking verses way out of context to support a theory some man taught you that can not be verified. You are trying to sale a lie here and i'm not buying it one bit. Someone may have sold you a sour pack of bologna but i'm not buying it.......Adios muchacho!

I repeat, look at the Prophecy yet again, is SPECIFIES that it is referring to the Kingdom of Babylon, not the City of Babylon.

Amazing, it is the exact same path that ISIS is taking, and it was on the NEWS the last 24 hours that they had over ran Nineveh, and are tearing down the Crosses off of Churches and replacing them with their black flags.

In reply to the OP (Original Post): Well, Isaiah 40:31 is in context to those who trust in the Lord and not those who disobey Jesus' words by taking up the sword (Of which Jesus rebuked Peter for). Besides, what about all the other evil people who can do the same thing with fighter jets, etc.? Do they have the same honor as believers who trust in the Lord in relation to Isaiah 40:31, too? In other words, it is clearly dealing with something "spiritual" that is exclusive to believers and not unbelievers. So this passage cannot be in reference to fighter jets, etc.

Thank you Kenneth, that really puts the picture in perspective. And you know if they are allowed to continue, they will turn towards Jerusalem.

Yes and they have already said they have forces south of Rome.
The other thing I have pointed out is that if people read about the judgments God is declaring on certain nations in Ezekiel 28-30 is all Muslim or mostly Muslim nations. The bible shows in Daniel 2 the final 10 kings/kingdoms that follow the man of sin in his system as iron mixed with clay. If we follow the standard that the Iron was the Roman empire, then we have to look at nations that were part of the Roman empire, plus Daniel 9:27 says the people of the prince to come referring to the man of sin will destroy the temple/Jerusalem. The Romans did this, so lets look at one figure specifically that has ties to both the Roman empire and Muslims.

TURKEY..............

This country is majority Muslim and was part of the Roman empire, and has recently threatened both Israel and the U.S. if they attack Iran. I do not believe however that ISIS is the new Mystery Babylon, as I believe they are the source of the true issue Muslim. What country is the headquarters of the Muslims ?
It is Saudi Arabia and it has flocks of Muslims from all over the world that come there to worship, its capital city is Mecca meaning mother, a label given to the harlot mystery Babylon. It is pretty much the oil capital of the world also, that has to buy pretty much everything that it has which is another description as merchants get rich off of her.

The Muslim religion is pretty much a total replacement of Jesus religion;

Ephesians 2:20
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Look at where they put their false idol the Kaaba stone.............

OH Jason, I cannot resist this one. I thought you would know better. You mis-applying the term "take up the sword".

Luke 22:36 (HCSB)

YES, our Second Amendment self defense RIGHTS are absolutely Biblical. AND I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE we should have boots on the ground months ago, defending the persecuted Christians. Soldiers shooting an enemy in the line of duty are not violating "Thou shalt not kill" (murder), because they are acting as an ARM of Goverment:

Romans 13:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Yes, I think we should have had boots on the ground MONTHS ago, defending the Christians and others being slaughtered by ISIS. I think the only reason it has not happened is the the current administration is more concerned about getting Democrats re-elected than doing what is RIGHT.

2 Pe 3:10-12
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
KJV

Zec 14:12
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
KJV

These verses certainly suggest nuclear war; but do not preclude other explanations.

OKAY, I think I have proven to myself that we cannot avoid discussing the Antichrist's reign, when discussing Wars leading up to the Second Coming of Christ. So feel free to bring that subject up too.

Yes self defense and defending the innocent is very biblical, as we are commanded to help those who being persecuted.
The part I disagree with is the last sentence, as not all Democrats are against boots on the ground nor do they stand behind everything that Obama is doing.
If you are a Republican did you stand behind everything Bush or Bush jr. did, I hope not because they did some bad policy making during their time in office as well.

On that Black Rock at Mecca, doesn't that look like a Christian Cross hidden in the gold plate design?

Do you know who I fear Mystery Babylon actually is? The Country symbolized by a giant statue of a Babylonian Goddess:

The problem with that is that I use to believe the same way that mystery Babylon is America, however I did a full study on this subject and found that America does not fit all the descriptions for Babylon. The biggest one of course is the Mother of all harlotry. As America is not the mother of it, as our country has adopted all of its beliefs and symbolism from other places. We are not the mother of it, just another branch of its defilement.
Yet we have one good thing still on our side, and that is many of Christians who stand up for the word of God.

Revelation 12:14 shows Israel given two wings of a great eagle to protect here for 3 1/2 years, and guess who the great eagle nation is? It is America, and I do not see America listed as any of the nations that follow the man of sin and part of his system. Babylon is shown to be part of his system tell he turns on Babylon and destroys her with the 10 kings/kingdoms that also followed him. (Revelation 17:16)

I think they will eventually be thought of as two of the Best Presidents in recent History. I think Ronald Reagan is the best since the Vietnam War. I know Bush was accused of lying about the WMD's; however I think he has already been vindicated, but NONE of his critics paid any attention to the News stories that have since vindicated Bush, Jr. Having been in a Military Intelligence unit during my four years of Military Service; I know how quickly military information can change before you can get boots on the ground to go after the targets. Saddam had them, but he moved them and hid them better. All of a sudden Syria was using poison gas weapons against their own people, after Saddam was executed. I certainly consider poison gas a WMD. Then ISIS found a hidden cache in Iraq and now they are using them in Iraq and Syria.

So what else are they finding and waiting for the right moment to use?

Just because one may have a good military tactic does not make a good president.
I know many of middle to low income families that struggled to make a living do to the policies made by both of them, and they were just as bad at pointing our economy into the financial issue it is today. Obama is not guilty of it all, as he did make things worse, but they were already bad before he took office. I do not believe on basing rather a president was a good president or not just on foreign policy alone. Bush jr. was called a lame duck president because of his policies, and Reagan was labeled by many Christians to be the antichrist just like some are doing with Obama now days.

Luke 22:36 (HCSB)
[SUP]36 [/SUP] Then He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money-bag should take it, and also a traveling bag. And whoever doesn’t have a sword should sell his robe and buy one.
I am fully aware of what Luke 22:36 says. However, most of the time when Jesus spoke, people misunderstood him. When people thought he was talking about something physical, Jesus was actually talking about something spiritual. Like with Nicodemus thinking he needed to enter into his mother's womb a second time. Like with the disciples who stopped following Jesus because they thought Jesus wanted them to actually consume of his flesh and blood. For you must take note that Jesus said this before and not after Jesus rebuked Peter. For how many swords did they have? Just two. And Jesus said that was enough. Really? Are two swords enough to fight off the guards who were trying to arrest Jesus? No. They were not enough. Jesus said to Peter to put back his sword because he could call down a whole lot of angels to protect him (If he desired to do so). So Luke 22:36 is talking about making sure one has the Sword of the Spirit (Which is the Word of God, i.e. the Scriptures), it was not talking about an actual physical sword. For Jesus rebuking Peter shows that they misunderstood Him on this point.

This is the popular Christian belief but it is nowhere to be found within the lives of Jesus and the apostles, though. Nowhere did Jesus and the apostles ever use physical combat in delivering the gospel message. On the contrary, the apostles were persecuted, beaten, killed, imprisoned, and took punishment and they did dull out that punishment.

Romans 13:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
As for Romans 13:4: Who is the "he" who is being spoken of in verse 4? What does the context say?

" Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers . For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." (Romans 13:1-4).

Well, it says the the "he" in verse 4 is not reference to the believer but it is in reference to the higher powers, rulers, or government authorities (Like one's nation, it's armies, and police, etc.).

Yes, I think we should have had boots on the ground MONTHS ago, defending the Christians and others being slaughtered by ISIS. I think the only reason it has not happened is the the current administration is more concerned about getting Democrats re-elected than doing what is RIGHT.
Paul says the weapons of our warefare are not carnal (2 Corinthians 10:4). Hence, why when he says we are to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6, he was not talking about actual physical armor but spiritual armor. Paul mentions that we are to take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. This is the same sword that Jesus was talking about.

Continuing on a further note with Romans 13:

God can use unbelieving nations as His ministers of justice. For example: God used unbelieving Assyrians as an arm of justice to punish Israelites for their sins against God. So yes, it is true that God does use nations for his greater purpose and glory. But that does not mean that a Christian has a free pass to disobey God's Laws in favor of the Law of a nation.

But can’t we wear two hats? When I’m in an army uniform and am part of the U. S. Army, it isn’t me, the individual, doing the killing. It’s the United States government. And the United States government has been entrusted with the sword by God, according to Romans 13.

This argument seems plausible only because most Christians are still unable to think of the kingdom of God as a real, existing government.

To illustrate, suppose an American citizen were living in Germany in the 1930s. And further suppose that the German army drafted him. (Yes, governments have the power to conscript residents who are non-citizens.) Let’s say that this American accepted being drafted into the German army and that he later killed his fellow Americans during one of the battles of World War II. Further suppose that he was eventually captured by American forces and was put on trial.

Suppose that at his trial, this American presented the following defense: “I know it would have been wrong for me, an individual American, to take up arms against my fellow citizens. However, I was drafted into the German army and so it was no longer me, the American citizen, who killed other Americans. It was the German government conducting lawful warfare against the United States.”

Do you think the people and government of the United States would accept that plea? Of course not! So why do we imagine that Jesus will accept such a plea?

Actually, a real-life situation similar to my illustration recently happened. A few years ago, the United States conducted a war against the Taliban regime of Afghanistan. In the course of the war, the U. S. Army captured an American citizen named John Walker Lindh, who had joined the Taliban fighters. Now, let’s suppose that Mr. Lindh had made the following defense at his trial:

“I, John Walker Lindh, as an individual American citizen would never do anything to harm another American. Yes, it’s true that I joined the Taliban army. But at the time I joined, they were not at war with the United States. Whatever actions I took after that were not mine–they were the Taliban government’s actions. I did not fight against the United States as an individual. I only fought as a unit of the Taliban government. Therefore, I am innocent.”

Do you think an American jury would have accepted that? I think not.

Christians who reject nonresistance, in effect, want Jesus to subjugate Himself to Caesar. They want Jesus to acknowledge that His laws can be broken if Caesar requires people to do so. But would Caesar be willing to do the revers? Will Caesar allow us to break Caesar’s law if Jesus requires it?

In answer to that question, let’s suppose that Mr. Lindh had made this defense: “I, John Walker Lindh, the American citizen, would never do anything to harm another American. Of course that would be wrong! If I fought against the United States in Afghanistan, I did so purely as John Walker Lindh, the Muslim. My allegiance to Allah requires me to kill all infidels. Therefore as a member of Islam, I killed Americans. But I did this only as a part of the Islamic international community–not as an individual nor as an American. Therefore, I am innocent.”

What do you think? Would that defense have worked? Of course not. The United States government will not allow its citizens to kill one another, regardless of their religious beliefs. If someone kills another American, he will be charged with murder. The fact that his religion required it will be no excuse.

If our government will not allow its citizens to slaughter one another because of their religious differences, why do we imagine that Jesus will allow His citizens to slaughter one another because of their political or national differences?

I think the Statue itself, which was a FAMOUS Babylonian Goddess, is the Mother of all Harlotry.
Ishtar worshiped in Babylon was called Aphrodite in Greece, in Egypt she was called Isis, in Rome she was called Libertas and Venus, in Europe she was called Demeter, in ancient Campania (southwest Italy) she was called Cybele, another Mystery Religion Goddess worshiped in Greece was Persephone goddess of the Underworld, etc.

I couldn't find one with VENUS wearing clothes, but it becomes obviously that ALL of the Goddesses of the Mystery Religions, have their origin in ISHTAR, hence the Mother of Harlots is ISHTAR. Not that it matters, but look at the similarity of the faces and the hair styles.

I agree that one should not confuse spiritual lessons from physical lessons. However it is as CLEAR as the nose on one's face that HE is advocating that when they are traveling on the Mission Field with money for the LORD's work, that they should take precautions to defend themselves and the money from thieves. The self defense weapon of CHOICE in those days was a short sword that was concealable under a cloak. The self defense weapon of CHOICE in these days would be a firearm.

Here is a replica of a Centurian's Sword (not a long blade sword) to give you an idea of the kind of sword Peter probably was carrying. Also NOTICE that Jesus did not tell Peter to throw it away and never carry one again. (Most likely Peter intended to take off his head and Malchus ducked.)

John 18:10-11 (HCSB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it, struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear. (The slave’s name was Malchus.)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] At that, Jesus said to Peter, Sheathe your sword! Am I not to drink the cup the Father has given Me?”

But once again here is the issue as the U.S. did not build the statue nor do we worship it.
The statue was given to America by France, so once again another thing adopted from another country......
Which goes with what I said that all our belief systems and symbolism in our country was adopted from other countries, meaning we can not be the Mother of harlotry, but just another branch of its defilement.

John is seeing a CITY of the future and the vision of that great seaport CITY being destroyed, and he has NO idea what the name of the City is. HOWEVER he would have the giant statue in the harbor, because all pagan religions of his day worshiped similar statues modeled after the goddess of Babylon and small statues were sold in just about every market place of the known world. SO WHAT OTHER NAME DO YOU THINK HE WOULD GIVE THAT FUTURISTIC CITY WITH GIANT BABYLONIAN STATUE IN THE HARBOR.
